I tried a mango cocktail, but the puree they used seemed like it had been frozen. It's probably hard to find fresh mangoes in February, but they shouldn't serve it like this. On the plus side, La Burrita was open on a Sunday night, which is so rare for Germany. We left at 10p. Most of the other occupied tables were doing just drinks. Our Slovakian waitress was attentive and talkative, keeping us well plied with food and drink.

For what it is, It's not bad, and will probably satisfy an inebriated burrito craving, but pales in comparison to even Midwestern Mexican-American joints. Also the menu is rather slim, just burritos and quesadillas and mostly chicken options. I have observed a lot of people coming in to just get chips and guac, so maybe I'll do a follow up with that later. However we are in Germany, so I give it 3 stars given its location. If you're about to fly to the States or Mexico, I think you're better off waiting to scratch that itch when you get there!

In that case being the best relative to other options I would give them full marks. That said, in comparing it to traditional North American style Tex Mex it wasn't my favourite meal that I've ever had. Atmosphere and ambiance wise it was definitely a cool place to be, and very popular with the locals. The inside packs up early (especially as the weather gets colder) so arrive early or make reservations (if you can). The patio is huge and covered, it had heaters but they were turned off so we had to resort to using the complimentary blankets provided on the patio to keep warm. For my meal, I went with a Burrito and it was underwhelming overall. The flavours in by bad tex mex standards were really off. Hard to put my finger on it but it wasn't what I would have expected. To give you an example, I've never had zucchini in any Mexican food ever and low and behold one of the stir-fried veggies I found in my burrito (in abundance) was zucchini.
