The people working here are all really nice, and they speak Spanish, so I had high expectations. What I got was... OK. Munich has certainly been stepping up its game with Mexican food in the last year or two! I had an appointment by Isartor earlier today and stopped in here on a whim. It was too late for lunch at most places but too early for dinner, but they were open. I liked the variety on the menu (which is in English by the way, interesting). It's not only the usual offerings you'll see at most other taco places. I had an order of Cochinita Pibil (seasoned, smoky, tender pork) and Duck Carnitas tacos on corn tortillas with guac. Both were very good. There are different "Aguas Frescas" on the menu as well as Horchata, which is what I ordered. Next time I might take advantage of the 5 Euro "Margarita to Go"... So four tacos and a small drink (which actually wasn't that small) for about 10 Euro. You order tacos 2 or 3 in an order, but I wish they could be ordered 1 at a time also. Sometimes you just want a small, quick bite or maybe a little something to add on to that burrito order that's a little different. Clean, bright interior, friendly service. I still love Condesa, but this was a great find too if I want something they might not have on the menu. And a Margarita to go with it :-) read more

A convenient place near the Isartor to get a quick bite. The time from order to table (fyi: it's self service) is fast, and the décor, especially their Lucha Libre-inspired fortune kitties, is charming. However, food-wise, I wish they have a wider selection of fillings for their tacos et al. as they only have chicken, pork, or vegetables. I tried their burrito in a bowl with carnitas (pork), and it wasn't so appealing to eat. It looked like it was assembled together with little care, and it was served with little pieces of tortilla chips. We are from Texas and have been living here over a year now. We have tried all of the Mexican food places. This one is up there in the list. To be fair, we only have the enchilada plate with Salsa Verde and it was pretty legit. The chicken was cooked very well and seasoned well. The salsa Verde and sour cream sauce we great. The rice was pretty good too. The beans needed some seasoning, but we spiced them up and the satisfied. I have been searching for Enchiladas and only found one other place withe them in Munich and those were just OK. I will definitely be back here even just to eat the enchiladas. Place is cute and staff was very friendly. Good was fast, fresh and hot. Definitely recommend for the enchiladas. Can't speak to anything else yet. read more

I hate to come correct on this adorable little spot, but I love tacos, I wanted some tacos, and what I got was barely edible. So many issues here... 1: Shells. Definitely not your typical corn tortilla - its not even your standard US flour tortilla. I'm not sure what the base was, but it was flimsy and didn't hold in the toppings well enough 2: Meat. I ordered the tinga beef and the shredded pork. The tinga beef looks like a mushy stew and tasted like a curry. I make tinga at home, its not that hard and this had ZERO of those flavors. Chipotle chili powder is pretty clutch in a tinga and it was missing here entirely 3: Toppings. All 3 of my tacos were topped with pickeled veggies. No onion or cilantro in sight 4: "Nachos". It was a plate of chips with some cheese sprinkled over it (not enough for each chip to have cheese. It reminded me of something I make at home at 2am after a bar trip This place is adorable inside and the food comes fairly quickly but if you're familiar with actual mexican food, don't come here, you will be disappointed. read more

By far the best taco place in Munich. Germany is littered with disgraceful Tex-Mex places and some overpriced mediocre burrito places but this taqueria does as genuine as it gets soft shell tacos. Love to drop by and talk to the friendly South American staff in Spanish. It is not super cheap but being in Munich cheaper would be weird. The agua fresca is also great. read more

As Mexican living in Munich you can t go better. They have great Tacos, Flour Tortillas are very good, but Corn Tortillas Tacos are great, I loved the Cochinita with purple onion, which originally comes from Yucatan. Quesadillas with meat are Fantastic too! The "Aguas frescas" are fantastic , they have 6 different Flavors, Limon con Menta, Melon (Watermelon), Horachata (Rice), Fresa (Strawberry), Sandia (Watermelon) and Tamarindo, which is my favorite and was great. I support entirely to what my fellow mexican below wrote, as a mexican living in Munich this is one of the best mexican places in town. I tried the quesadillas with Pollo Oaxaca (Wahaka) and Tacos of Carnitas D.F. and i must say the carnitas were almost done as in Mexico City and the pollo Wahaka was really tasty. I can't say it is exactly like what we are used to have in Mexico (that would be indeed very hard to achieve) but they get really close to that and it is definitely worth a visit! I got just a bit disappointed about the salsas that are available on the table... The green one is okay but the red one tastes like Valentina (if you've been to Mexico you know what I'm talking about) and personally I don't feel like it goes along with the tacos. read more

I know, Mexican food in Germany?! We had just finished at the Deutches Museum and started walking in the direction of Isartor. We nearly missed the place as there is a bit of construction happening on the sidewalk, but definitely close to a number of stops around Isartor. The decor is nice and definitely reminds me of a chain of Mexican restaurants in the UK... although the little cats with the Lucha Libre masks are super cute and I really wanted to take one with me. The guy behind the counter provided us a menu in English, but also took the time to explain everything to us. I ended up having a burrito with the Pollo Oaxaca and Mr. Snarky had the quesadillas.... you get three and you can try three different fillings if you want. So he went for the carnitas and the Cochinita Pibil. What is interesting is that you can customize the additional items inside... so for example the burrito comes with the meat, beans, rice, cheese, etc. I am assuming that if you say something, they will probably accommodate you, but they didn't ask us. You also get tortilla chips and salsa with your food. Although, Mr. Snarky had a green, warm salsa with his chips that I quite liked. I had a red salsa (I didn't like it), sour cream, and guacamole (which was nice) with my chips. I assume that it was actually for the burrito. I was kind of hoping they would have different types of hot sauce, but they only had one on the table and if you aren't a fan of Tabasco, you probably won't enjoy it. We both liked what we ordered... I really liked their Pollo Oaxaca and the beans in the burrito and thought the burrito was just the right size. I find that sometimes these burrito places go a bit overboard with massive burritos that I just cannot finish, but this was a satisfying size. Finally, good Mexican in Munich!! I had very low expectations when my friend invited me to go to lunch with her here, at LA Taqueria. However, unexpectedly, I was pleasantly surprised. I got two chorizo tacos, my one friend got two pork tacos (both tacos with corn tortillas, obviously), and my other friend got a quesdilla with chicken. My chorizo tacos were not my favorite of the day - my friend's pork tacos were my favorite. Close second favorite of the day, my other friend's quesdillas. This is not to say that the chorizo tacos were bad, but relatively dry in comparison to the pork tacos. I would recommend the chorizo tacos to someone who is an avid choizo lover. However, I just ordered the chorizo due to the fact that I hadn't had a chorizo sausage in a while and thought I'd like it more than I did. The prices were good considering the amount of meat you get in each taco/quesdilla. 4.50 for two tacos, 6.50 for three. The quesadilla was also 6.50. All in all, I was very pleased with this Mexican exprience. Please don't let the "by Milagros" at the bottom of their awning detour you from this little Mexican gem hidden in Isartor. read more

I feel like every time I think of La Taqueria an angel gets its wings.....yup, it's that good. If you are nervous about the often hit-or-miss Mexican food in Munich, have no fear!!! La Taqueria does NOT fall into the "miss" category. I really did not enjoy my experience at Milagros (the owners of Milagros also own La Taqueria), but I was really pushing my friends to come try this place with me. I'm so glad I was annoying and made them come too! Now other people can share in the heavenly food that is produced by these taco saints. Molly V. (see her Yelp review below) and I decided to share some grub. She ordered thechorizo tacos, which were quite tasty. If you're a fan of chorizo, go for it! You won't be upset with this decision. However, if you want to make an even BETTER food choice of the day, go for the cochinita pibil (pork) tacos! They will be literally blow your mind. They are sooooo good! The pork was tender, moist, and seasoned to a level of awesome that my taste buds can't handle very often. Combine that with the fact these babies are served on corn tortillas....boom...I was a happy girl the rest of the day. She and I also split a Lime and Mint agua fresca. This is yet another great decision. These are not too sweet, but also not too sour. All in all, for two people to eat it only cost us about 12 euro (2 tacos each, and half of a large agua fresca each). Not bad at all! The atmosphere is also very fun! Ate there once and never again. Food was not authentic Mexican but cater the the German taste. Maybe my expectations were too high, since I come form L.A. and pretty much grew up with Mexican food. The food itself was okay and my German friends love it, however, to me it was false advertisement since there are signs and posters saying, "authentic street tacos" no way close. The biggest issues I had was the small portion of food, the chilli Verde was warm wtf!!! This place was incredibly disappointing. My fiancé and I were quite excited to find Mexican food in Munich and tried it at first opportunity. Perhaps my hopes were too high because where I am from in the US we have really good authentic Mexican food, but the food here left a lot to be desired. For starters it had hardly any flavor. If you have ever had real Mexican food you know it packs flavor in every bite. I ordered a burrito, and chips and guacamole. The guacamole was some of the worst I have had. It barely even tasted of avocados. The chips were thick and on the stale side. The equivalent of getting gas station nacho chips in the US. The burrito...oh where to start. The chicken was cubes processed meat, I wouldn't even call it real chicken. The tortilla didn't seem to either be flour nor corn, and crumbled and cracked in my hands. It was thin and barely contained the soupy mess that was the filling. Lots of rice and sour cream inside my burrito but again hardly any flavor. For somewhere that claims to serve real Mexican food I can't tell if they have never tasted good Mexican food before, if quality ingredients are just too hard to come by here, or if they pander to German palates. Incredibly disappointing all around. I will plan on making fresh Mexican food from scratch at home in the future rather than come here. Homemade tortillas may take a lot of work but at least I will know the food will be good and actually authentic. read more
