This was not a very friendly Avoid at all costs!…read more Our experience at this restaurant was absolutely unacceptable. We came as tourists in France, hoping to enjoy a simple evening with family, but instead were treated with shocking rudeness and hostility. From the start, the woman working there (possibly the owner, medium height, black hair, very thin) did not act like she wanted to help or serve us. For example, when one of us asked to get another Orangina, her response was dismissive and rude--"another??? what do you want?"--instead of the basic courtesy you would expect in any restaurant. Later, when one of our family members brought food from elsewhere (something we didn't realize wasn't allowed), instead of calmly explaining, she immediately began yelling at us in an aggressive and humiliating manner. Her tone was not just unprofessional--it was hostile. When we decided to simply take our food to go and leave, she chased after us outside, shouting, "What's the problem?!" in a threatening way, making us feel unsafe. Other customers looked uncomfortable as well, as her behavior was not only directed at us but created a negative atmosphere overall. It wasn't the restaurant itself--it was her. She clearly did not care about her place, her business, or the people trying to enjoy a meal there. This wasn't just bad service--it was a complete lack of respect for customers. We left shocked and deeply disappointed. If management cares at all about their reputation, they should seriously address this behavior. Until then, I strongly caution others against going here.!!! ‼‼‼‼‼ I would not like to put any review stars at all !! Does not deserve any !! ‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼

The risotto were perfectly chewy, very umami and a nice comfort food before an in flight nap 5/5 Teriyaki Salmon: The other specialty of the house! (The risotto being the "side order" specialty of the house). I don't think I have ever had salmon so perfectly cooked. I didn't use any of the accompanying sauce because the salmon on its own was just dandy - melt in your mouth to be precise. 5/5 Complimentary bread was the only less than satisfying component of the meal - I had grown so accustomed to incredible French breads! These were hard little hockey pucks - I ate one just because I needed the calories for my upcming Norwegian flight. Overall this is an expensive option, yes, but you get what you pay for in this regard. I have never had a more satisfying airport meal. Tip is included in the charge, but the waitstaff will ask you if you want to add more. I added 3 euro more because I am easily badgered into giving away my money :) but that awkward exchange and the blah bread were the only downsids to the meal.

It took a while to get service; lunch was just starting and the place was immediately packed. Once my order was taken the food arrived very quickly. I've never had such delicious food in an airport, the chef's Michelin experience shows. I had the teriyaki salmon with a side of mashed potatoes for 29€. It was worth every penny to have had such a fine meal. The salmon was flaky and cooked a perfect medium, I liked the balance of sweetness in the teriyaki. I'm a sucker for some pomme de terres and their mashed potatoes were so so rich and creamy. I left very satisfied.

Our other possible choice was the sushi place and getting two packages would have cost just as much so I guess it's even. Still charging 7 euros for water so I got a Chimay Blue for 10. Got the beef entrocote this time, a steak with fries. It was good, a little tougher than I'd expect for the price, but again airport prices.

It is located right next to the Burberry store as you walk through the L terminal duty free stores. It's a nice place to relax and eat while you have a long layover. Long Review: I was so thrilled to find a nice restaurant to sit down and have lunch during a 4.5 hour layover at CDG. They were very accommodating and obviously reservations are not available cause...really? It's a pretty nice size restaurant with a view of the planes and white napkin table service. I'd never been to a Guy Martin restaurant so was excited to try it. They have a varied lunch menu so you can pretty much get what you want. I decided to splurge and start with sweet potato soup and get the lamb shoulder meal. And by splurge that means it was 14 euros for the soup and 36 euros for the lamb. In the States that would have been at least a $90 meal! The cooked veggies that came with the meal were great, but the lamb was undercooked for my taste. Mind you, I'm a medium-well gal so I had to suck it up and eat it as prepared. Partly because I didn't want to send it back since I didn't ask how it was prepared, and partly because I didn't want to offend them. But...wouldn't get that again. Plus it was a HUGE portion and I couldn't finish it all. I also ordered a glass of French Pinot Noir. It was not to my liking at all. Maybe I'm used to California Pinots, but that was the worst glass of Pinot I've had. The wait staff was very unfairly with the wine list and what paired with what...but hey it's the airport. I don't expect a sommelier to help us. Again, send it back. Didn't want to offend. So 4 stars for the location, ambiance and minus 1 for the food experience. However, I'd still go back next time I land in Gay Paris!
