There are some really lovely items there that can be used for every day wear or for fancy dress. It's definitely worth a look if you're into the vintage revival. This shop is owned by a sweet and lovely man who looks like he stepped right out of 1960... he'll help you to find anything you're after, and direct you around the haphazard piles and racks that are scattered everywhere. Strawberry Fields is a treasure-trove -- there is NO organisation whatsoever and you have to literally dig through everything to find what you're after. This isn't everyone's cup of tea but I LOVE it and relish the chance to find something genuinely unique. The prices are tiny too. Absolutely awesome, the best thing about Carlisle!

Bought a sofa two weeks ago for £425, seller couldn't give me a delivery date then 3…read moredays later rang me in the evening, no prior warning, and said he had it on the van but he was working alone and needed help. I explained I was an elderly female living in supported accommodation and couldn't lift a sofa nor could any of my neighbours. He seemed nonplussed by that so suggested dragging some random person off the street to help him. When I said I didn't want a random stranger in my flat he took offence and said he'd get back to me. He didn't, so I called him and he agreed to a refund as I needed the sofa urgently, 10 days later, still no refund. I have contacted the owner several times but he just keeps making excuses. I have explained to him that I have had to buy another sofa so am seriously out of pocket, still no refund.

Bought a ring online, have bought many things from webshop and never again, they slyly miss out in…read morephotos missing stones from jewellery and then refuse to refund or collect, you are responsible for returns. Custmer services is useless and stick up for the shops who sell rubbish items, it's just a vicious circle and not worth it. Go elsewhere if you want quality items that are described properly, don't waste your time and money on these awful shops that just want your money and don't care about customer service.

I've browsed through Cash Converters many times and never been impressed by their selection of…read moreitems on offer, they are usually quite overpriced and the customer service is basic at best and often quite misleading. I bought a cheap DVD player there which supposedly worked fine without a remote control (according to the staff). When I took it home I realised they haven't given me a SCART lead (which you have to pay them £1 for), and that it didn't at all work without the remote. Oh dear. Luckily I had a multi-remote that did the job or I would have had to deal with the unfriendly staff yet again. I've only given the place 2 stars because you can find the odd bargain if you're into old games and consoles. They were selling rare Megadrive and SNES games at a pittance the last time I went in.

It has some interesting looking things piled up in the windows but piled up is the operative word and it looks like a junk shop.Eeverything looks like it's been randomly literally thrown in. Bizarrely nothing has prices on it, half the stuff is upside down dumped on top of each other, it's almost as if the owner doesn't actually want people to stop and look or even buy the stuff. I don't understand why he can't just arrange the goods in the window clearly so you can see them and put a little price ticket even if just a rough ballpark one. It just seems like such a hassle to go go through the rigmarole of trying to find out the price of anything, I'd honestly rather go to a Cash Converters store instead where everything is openly and fairly displayed. Personally I won't be looking in here anymore, it's just too frustrating.
