There are some really lovely items there that can be used for every day wear or for fancy dress. It's definitely worth a look if you're into the vintage revival. It is a little bit out of the way, just down a little street off of the Big Market.

This is an incredibly frustrating shop, not helped by the intimidating atmosphere inside and an…read moreowner that it's impossible to get a straight word out of. It has some interesting looking things piled up in the windows but piled up is the operative word and it looks like a junk shop.Eeverything looks like it's been randomly literally thrown in. Bizarrely nothing has prices on it, half the stuff is upside down dumped on top of each other, it's almost as if the owner doesn't actually want people to stop and look or even buy the stuff. I don't understand why he can't just arrange the goods in the window clearly so you can see them and put a little price ticket even if just a rough ballpark one. It just seems like such a hassle to go go through the rigmarole of trying to find out the price of anything, I'd honestly rather go to a Cash Converters store instead where everything is openly and fairly displayed. Personally I won't be looking in here anymore, it's just too frustrating.

Guy who owns it is a lovely friendly chap, with excellent music taste! It also does 10% student discount for all the Newcastle/Northumbria university students in the area.

Custmer services is useless and stick up for the shops who sell rubbish items, it's just a vicious circle and not worth it. Go elsewhere if you want quality items that are described properly, don't waste your time and money on these awful shops that just want your money and don't care about customer service.

I've browsed through Cash Converters many times and never been impressed by their selection of…read moreitems on offer, they are usually quite overpriced and the customer service is basic at best and often quite misleading. I bought a cheap DVD player there which supposedly worked fine without a remote control (according to the staff). When I took it home I realised they haven't given me a SCART lead (which you have to pay them £1 for), and that it didn't at all work without the remote. Oh dear. Luckily I had a multi-remote that did the job or I would have had to deal with the unfriendly staff yet again. I've only given the place 2 stars because you can find the odd bargain if you're into old games and consoles. They were selling rare Megadrive and SNES games at a pittance the last time I went in.
