I have been going to Maria's for years with my family and was happy to take my boyfriend for the first time. He loved it. My chicken francese was excellent as someone who orders this out often. He got the lobster risotto special and really enjoyed that as well. Our service was great, and I really loved the man who made the reservation over the phone for me who happened to be working that Saturday night. I wished I got his name! This is a family run place and you can definitely tell the ambience is very lovely and welcoming. It definitely felt like I was back in Italy. We had dinner at Maria's for our granddaughter's birthday and it was amazing! Servers were friendly, the tables were spaced nicely and the menu was extensive. We started with mussels and pulpetti, which consisted of 2 delicious meatballs! Our granddaughter enjoyed rigatoni alla vodka, the ladies throughly enjoyed the pappardelle with chicken dish and my pappardelle with filet was amazing also! Beautiful hotel with a restaurant on ground level. Views of the ocean and open air. Great bar if you can get a seat. Went to have the lobster pizza, had it in the past and loved it. Today not so much. The lobster was added to the pizza like it was an after thought. They baked the pizza and then broke apart the lobster meat and placed it on top. I was very glad we sat at a table and not the bar. The table caught the lobster that fell off of the pizza. The pizza it's self needed more sauce and was a bit too thick. Honestly I think if it was a white pie with a bit of garlic it would be amazing. We will definitely be back. Have always enjoyed the food we have gotten but just think I will stay away from ordering the pizza again. Love all of their fish dishes and the burratta app is amazing. read more

The food at Maria's is excellent. Perfectly prepared and abundant. We ordered salmon with risotto, 2 orders of ravioli, and pasta bolognese. The risotto was the best I've ever had. The quality of the ingredients shown through. There were five of us (one of us had two appetizers for his diner) and there were zero complaints, everything was delicious. Our server was spot on, friendly, fast, and professional. I sincerely hope I remembered his name, Antonio. The owner, John stopped by to make sure all was well. I don't know how the experience could have been improved upon. Dessert was crème brûlée, a gorgeous banana confection, and pistachio gelato. We shared and each was better than the last. Initially had plans to go to The Andrea but they had lost our reservation so we were scrambling to find a "nicer" restaurant to have a good meal at on Mother's Day! We also had already taken the nearly hour drive from Glocester to Westerly to go to the Spring Fest Carnival at the beach! So we were really happy when Maria's agreed to squeeze us in on Mother's Day for a last minute party of 3! Thanks again for being so understanding & accommodating! When we arrived the valet came up to our car & parked it for us, I want to say it was complimentary for restaurant guests but not 100% sure on that, the host immediately sat us & we sat in a nice area of what appeared to be outdoor seating that was enclosed due to the time of the year. The restaurant was pretty crowded and they definitely could've used more servers as every time we tried to get the attention of our waitress she was nowhere to be found. So we weren't sure if it was because of the holiday or because they were understaffed (the season did not officially start yet- I believe it starts after Memorial Day) or whatever the case was, but they definitely need to hire more staff or more attentive staff. We literally could not find our waitress at several points throughout our meal & we needed her. So I would have taken off half a star for this reason- but Yelp will not let you do half stars so a full star it is..... The food I ordered was a Gorgonzola encrusted filet which was a Mother's Day special- and All I Can say is WOW- the flavors were amazing! The meat was very flavorful! The cut of meat was nice but not "melt in your mouth" type of filet, that I typically prefer & am accustomed to- but those are typically $65-$100 for a small 6/8 oz filet so for $45 this filet was WELL WORTH the price. THE PORTION SIZE WAS HUGE! The risotto that came with the filet was sooo good- albeit it was unlike any Risotto I have ever had - the rice was thick long and fat grains- which was just overall surprisingly delicious! My son got the pasta with butter from the kids meal and surprisingly ate a lot more than I anticipated. Extra points for having an affordable kid menu! My husband to be got the margarita pizza which was also delicious. We got baked stuffed clams as an appetizer which my 7 year old son and husband devoured - but I can't comment on because I don't like clams. The drinks were a bit ''steep' at $15 per beverage- I got the Mojito which was really good but could've used a lot MORE mint. They literally gave me a half a leaf of mint so that was a bit disappointing but nonetheless it was good! My husband got the sangria which he stated was good and my son got a cranberry juice- which she forgot to bring to our table about 3 x! Overall this restaurant has a ton of potential, especially given the location and the new boutique style hotel they just opened. We do a lot of summer beach trips and typically it's cheaper for us to stay at hotels then it would be to rent a beach house for the weekend, so we are definitely looking forward to staying here at least once over the summer- as long as they keep their pricing affordable. We noticed a huge price increase from when they first opened the boutique hotel to when we checked last on Mother's Day. I'm taking several hundred dollars difference but I don't know- maybe they will have RI RESIDENT specials or other specials! I'm hoping they have something! I would definitely return to this restaurant and I wish them the best of luck and success in the future! read more

My companion and I recently dined at this location earlier this week. Reservations were made online and were successfully executed. The atmosphere was open, clean, bright and comfortable. We had a table inside. Service was smart and crisp beginning to end. Well done. My companion ordered the Arugula (aka rocket) salad ($12). The serving was large and reported as very good. I had the Caesar salad ($15). Again the serving was quite large and very tasty indeed. Very fresh romaine was used along with freshly grated cheese For the mains my companion ordered the Seaside Burrata ($23). A Burrata is an Italian cow's milk cheese made from mozzarella and cream. The outer casing is solid cheese, while the inside contains a clot. On the menu it is listed as an appetizer. Given the size of the salads, my companion was smart to order a smaller dish for the main. I still have some learning to complete. I ordered the Nonna Francesca's Pappardelle ($29). It comes as a mix of house made noodles, chicken, mushrooms, spinach and sundried tomatoes in a rich red sauce. The serving was large and excellent. I took about 1/2 home. The second night we made a reservation but arrived early so we took the same high top. We went to dinner at Maria's both nights we were at misquamicut beach because it was so good!! Place was pretty busy for a Tuesday and Wednesday but not obnoxious. Restaurant is classy yet cozy. Nya T was our first nights waitress and Maggie C was our second nights waitress. Both were lovely confident and friendly. I don't remember the name of the young lady who brought us our water and bread but she was very sweet. Drinks - 2 freak show Cabernet, Nicola's Negroni and 2 Maria's sunset. Apps- purpetti (meatballs) mozzarella fritti Main courses- pollo al limone, tagliatelle Al barolo. cheese, ravioli, risotto Lungomare, Desserts- tiramisu, hot Italian chocolate brownie with vanilla gelato. We are in Westerly almost every weekend and know there are much better restaurants like the Venice or The Tea Room in Watch Hill. Entrees: Uncle Vinny Veal Parm, generous sized tender tasty veal chop but barely warm & sauce was unimpressive. 2023 Annual vacation in Westerly and we tried Maria's, The Andrea, Evie's & The Café. Maria's was the worst and surprisingly The Andrea so good we went for multiple dinners (much better than 2022) For Maria's to have such an up scale look and on the water, the linguini and clams were basically boiled linguini and about 15-20 clams in the shell (quantity was correct) and NOTHING else was a real disappointment. No chopped clams, or garlic or olive oil, or white wine or parsley... NOTHING. Not even sure they used salt. read more

The quality of this place definitely fell from last year. We chose to dine here again because in 2020, we had the absolute best dinner and drinks from this place. I ordered the same dish i did last year (swordfish with lobster meat), and even though it was good, the portion was laughably small. My friend eyed my plate as it was being brought out as if to say "wtf why is there like no food on that plate." Last year, i felt the portion justified the price.. I did not feel that way this go-around. Also ordered a drink from their cocktail menu and it was great, so when i finished it, i ordered another and it was not consistent with the first one i had. Disappointing. The seats were crammed in on the outside covered patio, so the person behind me and my chair backs touched, and once we were seated, we were in. So they have complimentary valet on busy weekends, so its a nice (but unnecessary) convenience that really left a bad taste in my mouth. The valet separated my car key from my carabiner which had the key to my Airbnb on it. I obviously didn't check to make sure that my car keys were still attached to the clip I handed to the valet driver. I was extremely annoyed when I realized AFTER i got to my airbnb that the house key and clip were both missing from the car keys. When i called, the woman said "we are really busy now but if you want to come look around the parking lot you can". Unacceptable after dropping nearly $200 on a skimpy dinner for two. I left my number for them to call me if they turned up. No one called. I called in the morning (the morning of my birthday, mind you) and was told "oh yeah! Security found them in the parking lot". Someone had ran over and bent my carabiner as well as my airbnb key, breaking my clip & bending the key. Working in customer service for nearly 10 years has taught me that if you mess up, you make it up to the customer in some way. I would've been grateful if they offered me a cup of coffee or even a voucher to stay or dine with them in the future. Pretty space-good drinks-menu is limited-food so-so. Portion sizes all over the place. Valet parking but when we pulled in we couldn't find anyone so we just parked ourselves. Service was SUPER slow. Our waitress must've said "your appetizers are on their way at least 6 times over the course of 15 minutes, after waiting almost 40 min for a calamari and pizza. Had to ask for water refills several times and for drink refills. Birthday noted on our reservation and they didn't even send out a candle. Food was so so. we split a Caesar salad and quite honestly I make a better Caesar salad than they served. I had chicken Parmesan and my sister had Linguini with White clam sauce. I am not a professional chef but my sister said mine is better than what she ordered. My chicken Parmesan with dry I guess they ran out of marinara sauce in the kitchen.
