The new ownership, however, seems to think that closing as much as 20 minutes early is acceptable business practice. Tonight was the second time we've arrived to find them closed early, and we even got the person closing early on the phone, their reason was 'it was slow tonight'. Why that person didn't have the good sense to re-open and make a sale is beyond me, when the person is literally standing outside the shop. I imagine that the other person who showed up before their listed closing time just to find a locked door might feel similarly. This is a really great way for the new owners to lose a lot of business in a small walking village. It's also a real shame that they've taken what was a longstanding local business with an overall very good reputation, and already managed to put a big dent in it like this. We are disinclined to continue giving them our business based on our recent experience. I would encourage the new owner(s) to revisit their policy, with their staff, regarding staying open until closing time. They cannot possibly think they're going to save enough money closing early to be worth losing all the business they'll lose if they keep this up.

The bottle dropped out of my hands and broke. This was completely my fault, I'll admit. I went back inside with the broken bottle, explained what happened and asked if there was any way they could extend me a small discount on another bottle. The guy, Who I think is the owner, looked at me, put his hands up and said sorry no can do. I get times are tough but it goes both ways. I shop here instead of saving money at a wholesaler. I am a regular customer here on purpose, to support them. I know he didn't recognize me with my mask but it shouldn't make a difference. A 10% discount would have cost him $3. It's the principle of it all and now I will be going elsewhere from now on.

As a very steady and loyal customer...I was very disappointed with this establishment this past…read moreholiday season. I've been in there many times and have purchased many bottles of whiskey, wines, and liquors over the years and never had a problem. I don't have a problem with the staff per se...but rather the young woman with the glasses behind the counter. I had purchased an assortment of bottled wines and brandies and they were not boxed. So...I asked the young lady to please wrap them in silver paper and tie them with green or red ribbon for the holidays...as they were to be given to various people as gifts. She rang up my purchase, I paid her and she slapped down the wrapping bags and ribbon on the counter. She stated that she doesn't or wouldn't be able to wrap my bottles. Now I looked behind me and there were no other people on line...so I did not understand the problem or why she wouldn't do this for me. Most if not ALL liquor stores wrap your bottles for the Holidays. I told her I'm not sure how to do this very well and that I don't have a scissors on me and that I needed to make various stops when I leave here. She told me she doesn't wrap and that was that. So rather than fight and make a scene in the store...I put my bottles in a box because they don't give bags with your purchase, I told her she was very rude and left the store. Never to go back again. That's NO WAY to treat any customer anytime! There are too many other liquor stores a person can go to. Won't be going back there. Sorry.....

Now,,, I am a devout purchaser of Baileys Original Irish Cream in the round brown bottle. Upon asking for it once more, they said it has been discontinued and is in the new blue bottle. Taking it home and opening it I saw that it was NOT the same. I brought it back complaining that I was misled and it was NOT the same. " You opened it,, we can't take it back" was her response. One week later going back to purchase something different I saw that,,,,, wow,, there's the Baileys on the counter you said was discontinued. I purchased it but felt slightly taken. Since then I have been to 2 different stores clearly well stocked with the Brown bottle Baileys. Now I have recourse by going back and telling them that it has not been discontinued and that I've seen it at 2 different locations. " oh no,, you're wrong , it has definitely been discontinued". So what's next for me. Now listen,, I am not an alcoholic, maybe just a small amount once a week. I don't drink alcohol otherwise as lemonade is my go to everyday. So what's next now? I googled Baileys and in clear print and video they post that they are in full production.
