I brought my dress to her to examine and she gave it to me straight -- that is was really messed up, but that it was fixable. I had already paid for the original alterations, so was conscious of price. When she gave me the final total it was absolutely reasonable for the amount of work she did, including having to add materials to the dress itself. I think some people think that alterations should be cheap because sometimes you can get that from a dry cleaner, but in real life that type of quality work takes time and you definitely pay for what you get. The store itself is in a bit of an awkward spot off of Rt 51, but the inside is very spacious, clean, and has a great area for you to try on your dress under great lighting! One note is that she only accepts cash or checks. I will definitely be back for more alterations in the future. I found my dress at URB bridal and the shopping was great but the alterations were atrocious…read more During alterations, I worked with multiple different people who obviously don't communicate well, because they had terrible carryover and very little progress between visits. Nearly all the work was pushed to the final fitting -- which was almost 7 HOURS. I didn't get to take my dress home until 6 weeks before my wedding, even though I'd purchased it in May 2024 for an October 2025 wedding. The quality of the work was equally disappointing: uneven seams, horrendous sleeves that looked nothing like the original design we had agreed on, an unhemmed layer of my dress that was completely missed until my guest caught it (they literally took scissors to the bottom of my dress and called it a hem), and a hidden corset sewn in a way that left bulky, visible seams. When I brought this to their attention, they blamed it all on me and said it was because my "continued weight loss" that made alterations difficult, or that I kept changing my mind about how I wanted the sleeves to be. But my weight did not fluctuate throughout the alterations experience at all (I kept track and was careful of this). And I changed my mind about 2 things very early - a regular corset back to a hidden corset (shortly after purchase) and the material of the sleeves (during the second appointment before anything had been done or made). Otherwise I didn't even ask for any other special customizations - I just needed the dress to fit me. It was clear they are just inexperienced and/or not skilled seamstresses. The environment itself also felt unprofessional: no 360° mirrors to see the back of the dress, dirty floors that left debris stuck in my gown (they blamed this on the type of fabric of my dress saying it "picks up everything" instead of simply keeping the floor clean), and loud noise from children in the next room throughout my fittings. When I raised these concerns and asked for a partial refund, their reply was dismissive and unprofessional, shifting blame onto me instead of taking accountability. In their reply they said that I "nitpicked every last detail" when I pointed out something out that was poorly done - but this is also my WEDDING DRESS. Alterations were overpriced, inconsistent, and poorly executed. In the end, I had to take my gown to another seamstress just weeks before my wedding to fix their mistakes. I didn't get my gown back until 1 week before my wedding. It was a nightmare. These women are initially nice during your shopping experience, but don't be fooled. They are rude, unprofessional amateurs. Please take your dress elsewhere for alterations. See photos for their poor work.

"I said YES to the dress at Marwin Bridal!"…read more MarWin Bridal and their entire team were absolutely phenomenal! I purchased my dress and veil from MarWin Bridal for my vow renewal. I also had my alterations done here as well. I highly recommend this shop for all of your wedding and bridal needs. I found this shop in search of a specific wedding dress brand (Essence of Australia) and MarWin came up as a vendor carrying the brand in my internet search on my area. We set an appointment and I received attentive one on one VIP treatment for the entire appointment. You can bring your entire wedding party group as well. I was not sure of the fit and style of dress I wanted initially. Their appointment app was helpful to prepare me for my visit. When we arrived, they helped me to try on several options from their robust collection to narrow down my search. They were extremely patient with me while helping me try on the dresses while providing helpful tips along the way. Their selection was robust for women of all tastes, shapes and sizes. Prices for dress and alterations were comparable to the market. Their shop was similar to a boutique and was bright, adorable and perfect! I am very indecisive and did a search among several shops in Pittsburgh before making my final decision. The dress of my dreams and the quality of the 2 dresses in my final running ended up being from MarWin. I took I pictures of all dresses that I tried on. I was pulled right back to their shop every time. Quality was unmatched. My dress had been at the shop from the first try on and was waiting for me when it was time for me to make a final decision. Special shout out to the entire team: Gina provided top notch customer service and helped me to try on dresses. She was an absolute gem the entire time and provided support services for my initial appt. with a smile. Karen was also there as well and they were both extremely helpful. Karen did the alterations and the bustle for my dress. She is a master with her skills. With over 30 years of experience, she made magic happen with my dress putting any worries I had to rest and made sure my dress had the most amazing fit specifically for me. Jamie was the owner and helped to provide follow thru and facilitated all appointments. She was extremely patient and professional with me the entire time and answered all questions I had along the way. She also helped me with try ons when my dress order came in. A free parking lot was available on site. I felt the love the entire time here. Thanks so much for everything!
