With weight loss and attachment to certain sentimental clothing items that cannot be discarded or donated comes the need to alter and what better a person and establishment than Nedy's - fun, welcoming, spunky, a multi hat wearing professional who successfully preserves the style and cut of these clothes; in fact making me look better(which has been impossible since birth). She has accommodated last minute requests and taken care of me numerous times. It has been a pleasure to see her interact with brides and new Moms while I wait - every single customer walking away happy, satisfied and admiring her work.. The quality of her dry cleaning department is outstanding. The packaging is like no other and classy and smart. The prices are great, in fact better than a majority of competitors in the area. Nedy is just north of Old Country Rd and is open Monday to Friday from 7-7 and 8-4 on Saturdays., 5 Stars!!!!

I came here to get my wedding dress altered and I had a great experience. She mainly speaks spanish…read morebut she understands English as well. Her shop is a small shop on front st in uniondale with only street parking. You have to ring a bell to get which made me felt safe. She altered my wedding dress for $100 and she altered my mom's mother of the bride dress for $75. Shes very affordable and does a good job! They also sell other party stuff like envelope boxes, purses and floral crowns. I got my daughter's floral crown for $20 there. I would definitely recommend her if you want affordable alternations. However, since I have big & heavy breast I wish she would of put cups in my dress. She said with boob tape my mom will be more elevated but i needed a little more support.

My sister in law lives in the neighborhood and told me about this place…read more I called at 9 AM on a whim asking if they could hem a pair of jeans same-day, and I'm so glad I did. The gentleman who answered the phone was straightforward and helpful. He quoted me the price right away and walked me through exactly how the same-day pickup would work, so I felt confident going in. Once I arrived, the experience was seamless. They had me try the jeans on, asked how I wanted them hemmed, and even offered different heel heights so I could see how the length would look depending on my shoes. Since I was wearing flats that day, I went barefoot and stood on a pedestal while they pinned everything to my exact preference - it felt really personalized and thorough. Picked them up at 1 PM and they were perfect. The whole process was professional from start to finish. If you need quality alterations done quickly, look no further - this is the place.

I understand that everyone values their work differently so I didn't question the pricing I just told him I was going to check in with another seamstress I had spoken to as well. His response was to tell me not to come back. I thought I had misheard him but he repeated himself and said "don't come back we have enough business." Based on the empty, sad look of their store and other yelp reviews I doubt that but incase you're looking for a new seamstress you might want to looks somewhere else because apparently they already have enough customers. Oh and I was able to find another seamstress right near by that was willing do so the alterations and steam the dress for less than half the price.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE NO STARS…read more.. Was close to home and negative reviews seemed to be a while ago, so gave it a shot. Mother of Bride, dress needed to be hemmed in top of shoulder (I am petite). When pinned at fitting it was how I wanted it to be, when i returned it was like nothing was done. Explained it is still too big. Was defensive, argumentative and unrelatedly had really bad breath!!! When I was trying to look at her to speak my concerns, she abruptly grabbed by shoulder and turned me around. She did this a few times. I asked her to please stop pushing me, she was hurting my back. When I came out of changing room, I asked her to update the receipt with the new pickup date and what needed to be done, she was arguing "I don't know why you are making such a big deal, i fix the dress, you can pick it up tomorrow. I said you know what, I am just going to go, she wanted her 4 pins back and said you are not paying so she wanted to keep the receipt. I never said i would not pay, I was going to pay and speak to the owner afterwards. Awful awful, awful!!

She knew I needed the dress for a wedding when I brought it in and said she would have it done for me the week before (giving her a month to complete the work). When I went to pick it up on the day she said it would be done she said she hadn't hemmed it yet and had me wait an hour for it. I packed the dress without looking at it and realized when I got to the wedding the straps were cut and being held together with pins. I had to find a local tailor and pay a rush fee to get it fixed in a few hours. When I called her to tell her what happened she said if I came in with pictures she would refund me $20. Giving how much I paid to get them fixed in a rush this felt like such a slap in the face.

I had just two days to get my bridesmaid dress altered before flying to Texas for a wedding, and there was a LOT of fabric that needed to be taken in. Despite the tight turnaround, my dress was ready on time and fit perfectly.
