If you know me, I have a huuuuge soft spot for bookstores and this was no exception! Walking in, it had a great layout and a variety of books. There was one staff member who was super friendly and helpful. I didn't end up buying a book (I have way too many and didn't want to add any to my luggage for my flight home) but I ended up buying a postcard with a wonderful illustration of the view right outside. 5 star recommend, support independent bookstores!

When we first saw the Coffee Shop, it reminded of us the Starbucks you would find within a Barnes and Noble. Definitely not... The signage said that most of the holiday drinks were sold out. Someone from the bookstore walked over to take our order. We told them we wanted a cappuccino. It should've been a red flag when they tried to talk us out of ordering the beverage. They asked if we were certain we wanted a cappuccino because it was simply a small amount of coffee with a lot of foam. To clarify, a cappuccino is an Italian coffee drink made with equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam, creating a creamy, balanced, and frothy texture. I did not question what they said and simply ordered the beverage. When I brought it back to my family, they took one sip and immediately poured it out. They said it tasted like strong coffee in the bottom and nothing but foam in the rest of the cup. So.... Do not order waste your money on coffee from Joe Muggs.

Most books are on big pieces of plywood supported by saw-horses, so it's kind of a warehouse deal. If you shop at one store, you get a discount coupon for the other store. It goes both ways, so don't buy everything on one stop, go next door, use your coupon there, get another coupon, and come back here to finish up. If you're a book-lover or a fan of independent bookstores, you owe it to yourself to stop and browse if you are driving by on I-75. It's just 1/2 block from the Interstate highway. They had rooms filled floor to ceiling with every genre imaginable. It was like a game of book Jenga. Besides the trove of books, thy had so many charming gifts and trinkets that weren't just for bookworms. I bought almost all of my keepsakes from here. Because I'm surrounded by avid readers, I knew they would appreciate my presents. Service was top-notch! The staff really went out of their way to help me locate the books and gifts I was looking for. Plus, who doesn't love a bookstore with resident cats? They were adorable and it was hard not to pick them up and cuddle with them. But I know that they had a job to do and I did not want to interrupt their duties. If I had more time in Savannah, I would have visited E Shaver Books numerous times. But the two times I did, I had a marvelous time.

The staff was super friendly, and the shop is full of unique books and gift ideas that make it hard to leave empty-handed. We ended up staying for lunch -- my husband had the chicken salad sandwich, and I got the turkey and cheese -- both were delicious. Such a relaxing and unexpected find. Can't wait to come back!
