The cats are well cared for with lots of toys, climbing structures, beds, and an outdoor play area. The facility is cleaned well, too. We stopping in to give some love to the cats here. We have too many cats at home to adopt more but we encourage you to stop in! We always manage to leave with a puzzle and another item or two as well. The staff there are very sweet.

I adopted one of my cats from Cats Angels 2 years ago- but lately I just hit up the thrift store for goodies! Now that I am doing pottery every day I can, I am always thrift store hunting for various things I can use for art- including bowls, dishes, cookie cutters and more. Things that have great texture, vessels that I can use as mold, my brain is looking at anything and everything and determining if I can use it for my arts. I adore the staff here, all are so compassionate, thoughtful and giving! Couple that with wonderful fur babies and a thrift store and book store- you have yourself a hit! Don't forget to check outside at their plant sale too. Inventory is always changing with donations, so go back often!

I can't imagine anyone not giving this wonderful place a 5 star rating. This wonderful place has a very large thrift area which is very nice thrift and not over priced and even if it was a bit overpriced the funds go to the cats and the sanctuary that the Cat Angels have built for them. In the thrift area there is plenty to look at and all of the items are clean and displayed very well. There is plenty of room to walk so you don't feel like like you are going to bump into something and break it. After you finish browsing you are welcome to visit the cats in their climate controlled sanctuary room. The room has open cages none of the cats are locked up, they can come and go, there are platforms with blankets, cat poles, feeding dishes and water available at all times and it's 24/7 cozyness. There is a cat door to a protectedn extra long catio The catio has a tier of levels which has cat beds with blankets for more furry sunny cat nap splendor. Many of the cats that are with the Cat Angels are older cats and would do well in furever homes. Finding a new home I am sure is what they dream of in their cat napping dreams. If you have aluminum cans you can bring those and donate those to Cat Angels. The donation area for cans is in the back of the parking lot. You can also leave your spare change in the jug on the counter in the front checkout area. Adopt a furever friend if you can.

Don't sleep on your local bookstores!…read more We participated this morning in a group walk and afterward, of course we had to stop into the bookstore! It's basically the law - you're in San Marco square, you go to San Marco book store. The book selection is ever evolving so there is always some new treasure to discover among the stacks. And often, I find books in there less expensive than Amazon. And there is a selection of books with author signatures as well, for no additional cost. Some of the signed ones have been ordered from the publisher, but a good portion of those come from live author events the book store participates in. There are so many wonderful events you can attend here, like the author signings mentioned above (and of course a slew of other things) And often, those authors will sit for a chat. I discovered a new favorite author when I accidentally stumbled into one of those events. It was neat to hear her discuss her book and answer some great questions. The. Store is also very involved in the community around them which I love. (The owner even participates in the group walks in the area sometimes!) They also partner with the library for some larger author signings and other events. If you love reading, this is a must visit!

With the new Cathedral Oaks Parkway now open, I was determined to check out more of the local area…read moreby bike. As a fan of both books and coffee, I figured this this was the perfect place to start. The little cafe is toward the back of the business. On he way, you're surrounded by a multitude of books organized by genre. The barista was cold and did not greet. I tried to make a little small talk to get a feel for what to order since they're the experts on what they serve, but he did not seem receptive to the gesture. I settled ultimately on a caramel latte. Seeing as how they also had breakfast sandwiches on their menu, I was also excited to try out their sausage, egg, and cheese croissants. Needless to say, I was disappointed when the barista, without uttering a word, went over to the fridge, grabbed a Jimmy Dean-style frozen sandwich, unwrapped it from plastic, and threw it in the microwave without explaining that's actually what they served. The value and quality for drinks aren't bad at all, but compared to some of their local competitors, I've seen and tasted better. The food was a disappointment to say the least, but it does look like they have some interesting baked goods for sale for those interested. Service could use some improvement as well to promote sales on their books as well as inform customers that they're about to order something they could throw in the microwave themselves. I don't recall seeing indications for prices on the books, and at this point, I didn't want to try to start up a conversation with the barista again either. There is free wifi if you're looking for a place to work. For better or worse, there is also a children's area that could be a source of noise if you intended to find a relaxing atmosphere. I'd be willing to give this place a try again since some of these issues appear to be service-related.

This is what my retirement plans looked like, from the books to the coffee shop, to the local displays of baked goods and other items. Our barista was excellent. We were saddened to learn that this quaint place was on borrowed time, and time was running out. When the lease expires, it will be no more unless someone else comes along to fill the void. I certainly hope that the torch will be passed and this place can continue to bring good vibes to others as it did for us.
