The Marian Fell Library is a historic building located in Fellsmere Fl. It was built in 1915 and added to the US Register of Historic Place in 1996. Marian Fell was the daughter of E. Nelson Fell who founded the town. The Fells left the area in 1898 but Marian never forgot the town and donated the money she made from translating Russian literature to build the library. It is the oldest library in Indian River County. It is a very small building and typical of the type of small town library you would see in small towns during the early part of the twentieth century.
I had the chance to visit the library during a historical walking/ paranormal tour with Indian River Hauntings. There has been ghostly activity noted in the building including footsteps in empty rooms, temperature drops, and orbs appearing in photographs. Although I didn't personally experience anything I did love the history of the building. read more
