Decent prices, cheap but good bar snacks, pool, darts, jukebox, and fun, all found here. The 6am opening time doesn't hurt either. I'll be stopping by every time I pass through this town.

However, you don't always want to feel like you're trying too hard to change your scenery, bumping you too far out of your comfort zone. The answer my friends, is the good old classic American dive bar. Now, many places like to call themselves a dive bar just because they never clean a single inch of their establishment and have seedy patrons that love to play the more than occasional 80's songs on the jukebox but don't be mistaken, a good dive bar is hard to find. Well, I happen to have found one and it's in Fullerton of all places. That's right, Fullerton, not Los Angeles, nor Hollywood nor some pop-culturally over-hyped city. What makes The Blue Door a good dive bar? First, there's earned consistency & routine. The drinks won't always be made well, or the bartender won't always be attentive but if you come a few times, you'll soon know at what time and day the drinks are made properly by knowing the schedules of the bartenders. Secondly, the drinks are stiff, the service is friendly and nobody bothers you unless you bother them. The atmosphere goes from lively and loud to quiet and solitary, again depending upon when you visit. Lastly, they're open from 6:00AM-2:00AM. They're not just there when the hipsters are around, they're there for you whenever you make the bad decision of using alcohol as an anesthetic. Stay searching for the last remains of Americana my friends....

Parking was pretty scarce, they have parking in the back, but it was filled up so I had to park across the street in the residential area, which was pretty tight. They had a security outside and inside, which made me feel safe. It's pretty much a dive bar atmosphere. They don't have a lot of zero alcohol choices, but the bartender was nice enough to do what she can and make me a virgin margarita. I really was there for the birthday celebration and music. The music was on point, the DJ was playing all of the hits from the 80s. I like that they have the videos playing on the TV systems, it totally takes you back. There is a good mixture in the crowd as far as race and ages. Everyone was Vibing and having a good time. We ordered appetizers, which were good for bar food. Drinks and appetizers were a little pricier than I imagined for the type of place that it is but it's all good. The band came on at 11 PM and they were incredible! They did the 80s I went from English to Spanish and then back to alternative. They took me to my KROQ days! I loved it! I would definitely come back here again. I probably wouldn't reserve a table in the future, there was plenty of seating and we were on the dance for most of the time anyway.

We were there Saturday night specifically to see a DEVO tribute band. As soon as the band was coming onstage, I could tell by the way they were dressed that they were not a DEVO tribute band. Then they started playing. It dawned on me that they were a Cramps tribute band. not at all what I paid a cover charge for! This also happened to us a year and a half or so ago. There was supposed to be a David Bowie tribute band. instead, an 80s cover band came out instead, we were dissappointed, but the band was good. both times this happened the club didn't even update their site and/or the one taking our money at the door let us know that the band cancelled that night. I wish you would let your customers know this before they pay you a 15 dollar cover charge, that would be nice!

I want to say that the theater holds maybe 75-100 people...? Comfy seats and every seat is a great view. Prices are great, our last show was $39 each. The actors are fun and you can tell they absolutely love doing what they do. They are there to make everyone happy including themselves and their fellow castmates. There is a bar with drinks and snacks, we've even seen shirts for sale! We are considering purchasing a "B Season Pass" so we don't miss out on the shows this coming year, some sell out fast! I hate to even give a great review because I don't want people to buy up all the seats from under us, but yet I want to also give this theater a huge and happy round of applause for being FANTASTIC!! We will see you again soon! Cheers!

Right from…read morethe start, we were welcomed by a friendly security guard at the entrance, which set the tone. Ladies, just a heads up, they do check your purses before entry, and there's a $10 cover per person. I highly recommend getting a table if you can. There's a minimum spend. For us, it was $125 for food and drinks, but it's worth it to have a spot to sit, relax, and actually enjoy the band and the view of the dance floor without hovering around. The live band was so much fun. Everyone was out there line dancing to both country and pop songs, and the energy was contagious. Even if you don't know the dances, it's still a blast to watch and soak in the positive high energy crowd. Next time, I'm definitely coming earlier to learn a few moves and fully join in. They have two food menus plus a drink menu. Food wise, it was decent. I ordered the ranch steak burger (cooked medium) with fries, and it was a good solid choice. The warm campfire chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream was a nice sweet treat to end the night. Service is where this place really shines. From the security to the staff to even the guests, everyone was incredibly welcoming. You can tell there are a lot of regulars, and it creates this friendly, almost community like atmosphere. Our waitress (I didn't catch her name) was amazing. She was super attentive, constantly checking in, clearing the table, chatting with us, and just giving off the warmest energy while still being quick and efficient. Overall, the people truly make this place. Great music, fun crowd, and an all around good time. Already looking forward to coming back. Next time with better planning and maybe a few line dance moves ready

It has its own "fast lane" entrance where there is rarely a wait to gain entry. You walk through the private entrance and take an elevator upstairs. To reach the lounge entrance, you walk across a Persian rug covered walkway overlooking the restaurant below. You also pass by private liquor storage for members. The entrance area is decorated beautifully. It is dimly lit with red backlit Buddha statues and a beautiful chandelier overhead. Once you check-in and get your show tickets, you are offered complimentary champagne and guided into the main lounge area. It is also dimly lit, and there is definitely a wow factor when you walk in. The orange and pink ceiling really sets a vibe. There are various couches, lounge chairs, and tables around the room. The bar looks elegant and has nice looking lit columns. There are also large semi-private booths along the wall. The restrooms are upscale and there is usually an attendant. We were going to eat and have a drink before the show, so we had a booth reserved. The booths are U-shaped and are very large. They can easily accommodate ten or more people comfortably. I had the unami double burger ($22), and it was delicious and filling. The Mediterranean salad with salmon ($24) and chili crisp wings ($18) were also enjoyed at the table. We all also enjoyed an old fashioned. Our server was very friendly and took excellent care of us. The lounge also has a small stage. Half way through our meal, a band setup and started playing. The band was great and their music style fit the room well. A perk of membership is box/suite seating upstairs with a great view of most shows. The latest show I attended was for a number of tribute bands and upstairs seating was closed. Members still get VIP seating at the back of the floor with elevated seating that overlooks the general admission crowd. Both VIP areas include food and cocktail service. This experience blows away standing on the floor in a packed general admission crowd for hours. I look forward to returning again soon.
