Very clean and quiet restaurant. Waitress was very nice. Cook did a great job on flavor and timeliness. Fajitas- Shredded chicken with yummy crunchy onions and peppers. Perfectly cooked! My daughter loved the rice. Less flavor than some, but more authentic than those. So very good Refried beans has queso on it. Tasted very good. Beef tacos - my son had this and was disappointed that there was green pepper and onion in the beef. Otherwise they tasted good. Chicken taco- same chicken as the fajitas. Daughter loved it. Egg burrito - was completely gone from my husband. Chips and salsa was the best for my family. The chips have really nice seasoning on them. Salsa was really good fresh salsa. Food was horrible... we thought it might have been a sauce on the burritos, but we had no idea what it was. The salsa was even nasty.

Takeout was hot & fresh. Excellent lunch specials and friendly staff. Shrimp Tacos were excellent and hubby loved the fried fish tacos. Not your usual boring takeout that's for sure, we'll be back to try some other stuff. read more

Not good food! Ordered 3 carnita tacos, 3 asada tacos and a fried ice cream!! Food had no flavor barely had any cilantro and onion and salsa was nothing but tomato! Fried Ice cream was old! I wanted so very much to like this place. Menu looks great. I just..i dont know how its remotely possible to make bland mexican food but theyve definitely succeeded. I tried a variety of items over 3 visits-enchiladas, different types of tacos, and the most recent hard shell chicken tacos. I will say the shrimp taco is great but thats about it. Everything else is so incredibly bland. Got the mild salsa to out on the tacos and it tasted like water. I love everything spicy so i got the hot salsa and apart from it being a little darker in color it still had no flavor let alone any type of spice. I hate to say it but go spend your money at El Cozumel or my personal fave Nuevo Vallarta in GB. Well worth the drive and money. read more

Absolutely the most disgusting food I've ever had . We paid $34 for flavorless food . I took maybe three bites out of my tostada which was so disgusting I couldn't even eat it. Also had a taco and the meat in that look like it had sat around for more than a week and dried out . We ordered take out dinner yesterday and were told it would be ready in 30 minutes. So, we came back 30 minutes later only to be told it was not ready. It took another 15 minutes for our food to be provided. We ordered 12 tacos and also 3 steak tacos. Food was delivered to us cold, after our 45 minute wait. Use the microwave to warm the food - was not tasty at all and hardly had any meat in the tacos. Also - we ordered all tacos to be without tomatoes. All taco's had tomatoes. Rice was both overcooked and raw, and so salty it was inedible. Beans were completely unseasoned, like water. Chips had bizarre seasoning salt. During Covid times someone walked into kitchen maskless, service at takeout wearing mask over chin. If the service isn't practicing the basic guidelines for safe food handling in pandemic times, they very likely have horrible conditions in the kitchen. Not worth a second visit. Went in on a Sunday for some food. My order was around $55 and left a $5 tip. I was standing in the lobby waiting for my food and I was looking back into the kitchen and the man and woman who were cooking and preparing the food were not wearing gloves for the 10 minutes I was standing there waiting. I got my food, trashed it and will not go back. It's very upsetting to see that no gloves are being worn especially during a pandemic. We were in there tonight for dinner. The place was so disgusting. All the tables were dirty. There was no one in there at all when we entered and not one table was clean. Not one. The waitress was "busy" talking in the back. We sat at one table that seemed less dirty but it was sticky. All the salt and pepper shakers were covered in grossness. Like they had never been wiped ever. Everything was covered in a layer of dirt. Our beans and rice came out first. They were burnt but cold. The plates were super hot but the food was cold. Then the dinners came out 10 minutes later. Both cold. Literally we were the only ones there. The whole time. The waitress talked with the cook the whole time about personal stuff. When I told her my food was cold she offered to remake it. I told her I wasn't interested in having it remade. She took it and brought a bill and told me I had to pay for it! No way. Always get what you ordered. More then enough food. You use to get there homemade chips with ever order but not anymore. I'm assuming Covid caused cut backs. There dinners are good and large. Maria Mia used to be a place for good food. Good enough to where we would drive in from Flint to eat at the tiny restaurant. That all changed last night. My wife ordered the nachos the flavor was good but with an inch of grease in the bottom that turned her nachos into soggy, greasy lumps of cold mush...she didn't finish them. I had the steak fajitas, again tasty. They forgot the spanish rice, but it came...a plate of reddish much that had been sitting around and obviously over cooked. The rice had so much moisture in it that it was twice the size and really looked like red mush...no chef (or line good) would ever send out such food. When the great waitress asked how things were, we told her. She apologised and said it was a new kitchen staff...and we could see and overlook things. Apparently she told the owner (and or manager) he walked over to the table, looked down at the food we left and then stood there looking at us in silence after 30 second or so he asked how things were. After explaining, he pointed at the greasy nachos and explained that's how they are supposed to be. My over cooked rice is 'normal'. I explained that we had come there many times before and it was never this bad. He shrugged and walked over to the waitress and she rang up our bill. We would have refused and freebie, or deduction on the bill, but they didn't even offer, apologize. Other than the broken (and partially open) sewer in the corner the place was clean. But the manager's attitude to argue rather than to say he'd look into it (and fix it) gave us the impression that we were right, the Maria Mia has gone and in its place is a place that we will not return to, nor recommend. We were so excited to try this. We come from a family that owns multiple Mexican restaurants but LOVE to try new places. We spent $50 on takeout that got tossed because of lack of flavor. Everything was so bland!! The steak in the tacos was alright. We got our order placed and picked up within 20 min on a Friday night which was nice. They offer to go margs which I thought was cool during this time. But everything else was so disappointing.
