I've been going to Dr. Abello for over ten years and could not be happier with my dental care. Dr. Abello and Cindy have always made the effort to accommodate me and my family when we've had dental emergencies and they are always flexible when we have schedule changes since the appointments are 6 months out. Most importantly though, Dr. Abello is honest, no-frills and never pushes more than what is needed. She takes care of my dental health so precisely that I've never had need for any further dental work. No cavities, no fillings, no crowns. She's also extremely kind and compassionate, always gentle and patient with my daughter. Same with Cindy! They are a lovely team. Coming from a previous dental practice that constantly pushed "preventative procedures" (e.g. "you have very deep grooves in your molars, we should put a layer if filling to prevent cavities") and had all the bells and whistles (while impressive, did nothing to improve my dental health), Dr. Abello was so refreshing and I very much appreciate the ACTUAL dentistry. 10/10 would highly recommend Dr. Abello and Cindy for your dental health needs! read more

Dr. Abello is OK. Her assistant was SO BAD! It all started from Abello's recommendation to do 3 crowns in my mouth (yes, 3!!!) I didn't feel any hurt or discomfort, so I consulted another dentist for a second opinion. The other dentist suggested me to keep all three teeth the way they were. So, I declined to do those crowns. Abello's assistant would ask me at almost every office visit to do those crowns. I kindly declined all such requests. Then, one day, I found out I was double charged for my visit to their office (charged twice on the same amount on the same day). I requested an itemized receipts and the over charge was very clear on it. But, when I requested to make a correction, Abello's assistant wouldn't authorize. Instead, she claimed she noticed this double charge at that time (WITHOUT telling me) but the extra money they charge was used as my penalty for my missing office visits (Again, I did NOT get any notice on the "missing office visit". That "penalty" seemed to happen after the over charge. Even this assistant could NOT provide any proof on the missing appointment. Her explanation was that the front desk girl who made the appointments had left their office so no records she could provide). I called several times to ask for a correction to the over charge. She started to mention my rejections to the crowns (indicating I was a bad client?). When I insist on getting back the amount they double charged me, she threatened to reject my service in future very rudely. BAD EXPERIENCE. I would not come to this office again. I added one more star to reflect my appreciation to Abello. She was nicely greeting me when I went there. I agree with other reviewers that the doctor was good. Her assistant was terrible. read more

She is a nice dentist but it sucks that sometimes she has to answer the phones. She can be rude on the phone! In person she is very sweet. Her assistant on the other hand, is very rude! I read on yelp from another yelper, it says the hygienist is very rough with teeth cleanings. I'm glad I backed out!!! I'd rather have a dentist do my cleanings and not the hygienist that's not friendly. It seemed like this office need more staff. They looked so stressed and seemed very rude! ***. Dr. Abello is amazing. I broke off part of my tooth this morning and she came in on her day off to look at the damage. Even more amazing since I'm a new patient and we'd not met previously. While I'm not looking forward to the crown I need I'm happy to recommend Dr. Abello. Dr. Abello was very honest and even explained to me that the extra services I was told I needed by another office weren't actually necessary! It's so refreshing to visit a dentist that doesn't try to up sell you. The staff were all very professional and friendly. Dr. Abello and her team are amazing. I went to Dr. Abello when I was younger, then I moved to San Diego for school. Once I was able to get dental insurance, I decided to take all my dental problems all the way back (77 miles) to Aliso because Dr. Abello is AMAZING! She has done a vast amount of work on me- cavity, molds for sleep guard, crown, etc. I once had a dental emergency, in which they saw me ASAP and were able to send me to an fantastic oral surgeon the same day! Every experience there has been very comfortable and positive. Dr. Abello will tell you what issues she sees; however, she is not pushy correct those issues. Also, a shout out to her crew. Dr. Abello's office is up to date, clean and fresh with no funny odors. Each room has it's own tv screen attached to the chair. I have 4 kids from 12-20years old and she is very patient and able to address each of their individual needs. I found Dr. Abello right here on Yelp! I have had very bad experiences with Dentists and I also have a fear of needles in my mouth so I was not going to go to just anybody without doing some research first! I went into her office and she actually came out to greet me and even answered her own phone. Then she greeted me with a really friendly and warm, "Good Morning!" I was already impressed. I talked with her extensively about my very limited dental experience (almost fifty and never had a cavity and never had a filling). She was so kind and understanding when I told her. I told her that Im open as long as she would just talk to me and be straight up and honest. I went in to the room to have my x-rays done. Two things I loved: the tv right in front of me while in the chair and also that I didn't have to go from room to room. The x-rays also came right up on the screen, as they were being taken! Awesome! If you have had any bad experiences with dentists or are anxious about going, I highly recommend Dr. Abello. For the first time in 47 years I hugged my dentist when I left. I have another appt. to get my teeth cleaning next year, two days before my wedding and Im actually looking forward to seeing them! Horrible office that over bills. Went for cleaning that's covered by insurance and afterwards comes back and says insurance won't pay and hits with $144 for 2. Also quoted work for crown and paid and months later hits with another bill. Why give someone a price and hit them with more? Unprofessional and asked for this to be fixed several times with Cindy who says ok I'll look into it and never gets back to you. AVOID unless you want to be hit with continuous bills. read more

Before I found Dr. Abello I had a hard time trusting the dentists around Aliso Viejo, and it felt more like they were trying to sell me various different services I did not need. Dr. Abello has cared for me and my wife's dental hygiene for multiple years, and I never feel I'm getting sold services rather getting medical care. I've had one medical emergency and she got me in within two hours and got me a referral to a great oral surgeon. She's always very gentle when cleaning my teeth. I trust my dentist, Dr. Abello. She has been wonderful to me and my family. I feel very comfortable with the work she does and recommendations she makes. The office is very clean, modern, with cool LCD TV screens with remote at each patient area. My kid's (ages 5 and 7) look forward to going to watch TV, get a toy AND that's after they have had a cavity filled and they still like to go. Past dentists always tried to get me to change my fillings (even though they were not bothering me) or do add on work. She only fixes what needs to be fixed. Fantastic Dentist. Very warm and welcoming and a very clean modern dental office. Service is fantastic. My wife had a temporary crown come loose so we called them up and we reached the voice mail which gave us an alternate number which we tried. When we called this number we reached Dr Abello who arranged to meet in the dental office 3 hours later to refix the crown, this on Christmas Eve when they were shut! Awful. I am warning you so you don't have to go through what I did. This dentist should not be practicing. She lets her assistant do a lot of the work that I know only a licensed dentist should be doing. Dr. Abello did a crown and the experience was terrible. She had to give me multiple shots and somehow I still wasn't numb enough. It took forever and her assistant talks too much and watched the television intermittently while doing work on my teeth. About a year later my new dentist xray'd my teeth and showed me very visibly that the crown did not cover my tooth properly. I made the mistake of returning to her to fix her shoddy work and this time in order to make the new crown fit, she shaved me adjacent tooth that was completely healthy. My current dentist has xrays to show the before and after of the tooth that was shaved. Once again, spare yourself the money and time and your teeth and go elsewhere. I am now having to get a crown on the tooth she shaved because it has caused a cavity. read more

I was happy to have found her because in general, I hate going to the dentist (as a result, I hadn't seen one regularly in years). This is a follow up to my November 2015 Yelp review. The procedure to have my implants took longer than expected. Some of this was due to the fact that I wanted everything completed by the dentists, Dr. Abello and Dr. Clark, who started this journey. Once Dr. Clark release me I went back to Dr. Abello to have my jaw measured for the implants. When the finished product came back, the implants that were sent to her, were unacceptable for her and ultimately, me. I can think of dentists that I went to, in the past, that would have made the implants work. Dr. Abello sent the defective implants back and she, with my permission, went with another company. The finished product was evident as soon as she placed them in my mouth. It has been almost two months and the implants are working perfectly. My jaw line is back to normal and I am so happy that I had to write this follow up review. In conclusion, if you want a modern dentist , with old world values then you MUST treat yourself and see Dr. Abello for your dental needs. She treats everyone like they are members of her personal family. Her staff, especially Cindy, her assistant , does the same thing.
