It's been a while since I last reviewed Margaritas. The menu has changed a bit over the last several years - to the better in my opinion. It is very extensive with lots of specialty options. You can be sure to find something for everyone here. The food is delicious- I lean towards the enchiladas and burritos- but they have lots of other options, tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, steak, chicken , seafood and vegetarian. The decor is typical Mexican Cantina style with tables and booths. The service is always great! They have a full bar - so grab a margarita!! The beers are huge and ice cold ! Chips and salsa is complimentary on arrival and serves with warm chips very tasty salsas - one hot and one mild ! I have made this place my must stop place when traveling to the beach or south. They also have another location in Myrtle Beach if that is your destination! I had the new menu item Chef Speciality Burrito Supreme - one chicken and bean burrito and one beef and bean burrito - topped with a flavorful creamy tomato sauce , melted cheese - lettuce , tomato and more shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream on top ! Scrumptious!! Portion sizes are generous! Ask about happy hour drink specials - 4 $ house margaritas!! Very good ! Don't pass this place by- it's worth a stop lunch or dinner! The carryout order consisted of the big burrito, enchiladas and a taco. The food was okay. The burrito was big just like the name suggests. I just didn't care for the size and texture of the steak pieces. I also would have preferred the burrito had been rolled tightly and if it could be picked up and eaten. I would have also preferred ground beef in lieu of the steak (I have consistency issues) The enchiladas were edible. The ground beef taco was the best of the three menu items purchased. I would return for the ground beef tacos. The carryout area especially the floors needs to be cleaned. read more

Service no good. Rush in and out. Chips burnt. Gnats all over the draft. I wouldn't go back.

2025 Update : This restaurant has changed so much since we started dining there years ago. The quality and taste of the food has declined so much that I have rethought my rating to a 2, only because the rice and beans were good. The red sauce for many of their dishes has changed so much it hardly resembles the real deal. Sad to say we won't be going back any more. read more

Everything about this restaurant says Mexican, the decor, the music and the food. It has tables and booths. They have quite an extensive menu. The staff is attentive and the food was good. She said they were what a tamale should be and the best since we left San Antonio 35 years ago; with many Mexican restaurants since then. Used to be great. We always stop here on our way to Florida every year. The crab quesadilla USED to contain real lump crabmeat. Now it's fake crab and they don't warn you. Cadillac Margarita was excellent. Server had an attitude. This used to be a great place. AND both faux crab and spinach quesadillas tasted like soy sauce/Chinese food. Replacement spinach quesadilla was INEDIBLE it was so salty. Ugh!!! Just conferred with our server...chef cooks the food with TERIYAKI SAUCE! I enjoyed my lunch here for Father's Day today. The staff are friendly and understand southern hospitality. This is your traditional Mexican fare. We had house margaritas which creep up on you ! We also had carne asada platters. Blake was our waiter and he was the nicest young man. Professional and provided fast service. Handsome and hospitable. The chips and salsa were good & drinks well made. This restaurant was located right next to our hotel at Home 2 Suites, so very convenient. Good value for lunch specials and cocktails. Such DELICIOUS food and great service from waiters/waitresses. I'm not sure if they take reservations, but often when I go here, a loud large party or group of kids comes in and then all the other tables get ignored. The business can't control who comes in, but you can hire more workers to help compensate for larger tables. That's genuinely my only complaint. read more

The food was good fish very tender, scallops are small, rice was perfect and the beans were good. The drinks were definitely delicious! I couldn't really tell who our server was because they worked as a team and checked on us throughout the meal and were above and beyond! We tried the one in Summerville, SC. It is now our favorite Mexican place to eat. I forgot to grab photos. Next time I go I will. The food is excellent, the staff are on their game most of the time and the prices are less than what we pay for Mexican in West Ashley. The place itself, the building is run down. It's also not the cleanest sometimes. My grandson who is 9 slipped and fell on a larger grease spot on the floor. He cried for a bit but was otherwise okay. For a while the windows had large cracks and so did the door. I can see they are working to repair the place some. Honestly the food is so good the atmosphere isn't a huge deal. It is rather small inside. It could be made to be more comfortable but if what they have keeps the prices lower.. I am fine with it. They also have an oil dump in the back of the place so they can responsibly discard used oil.. and I appreciate that. Oh and the chips and Salsa are perfect!! read more

In town overnight, found this place on Yelp and glad we did! Welcoming friendly staff, reasonable prices and most importantly delicious food with lots of options! Enchilada, burrito & chile relleno entrée - all stuffed with tender shredded chicken and topped with flavorful delicious sauce and shredded cheese. Salsas -both hot and mild were excellent. I reluctantly give this restaurant two stars for a few reasons: 1) The food deserved five stars. We had shrimp fajitas and the flavor was great. Also the skillet had more shrimp than most and I love the char they had, almost as if they were cooked on the grill. The rice and beans also had good flavor but the three levels of salsa lacked seasoning in each. The third had the heat though, which I loved. 2) The gentleman who waited on us was very kind and attentive, coming to the table to check on us often but not too much. He also deserved 5 stars. I did not penalize him for number 3 (below) but thanked him and tipped based on his sincere generosity. 3) I would like to rate the policy of the owner one or zero stars. See the photo of the receipt attached where there is a fee to use a credit card of 3.99%. From my experience of over a decade working for a major credit card company, I recall that this practice is not allowed. The merchant is charged a fee to accept the card of a provider. This is not supposed to be passed on to the consumer if memory serves me correctly. I have reached out to my sources where there is a number to call and report this activity. If you decide to eat here I encourage you to do the same. read more

Average Mexican. The salsa, queso were bland and the margaritas tasted watered down. Had the taco salad and it was good but not outstanding.

Came here on a lunch break. Seems like a solid crowd shows up at that time. I ordered the chorizo and eggs lunch (can't remember what number) and bean dip. My food came out last out of a group of 5, which I wasn't bothered by but it became noticeable... Overall, decent experience. If you want to come somewhere quick for lunch and decent portions, this is the place to go. read more

We drive 95 from Jacksonville Fl to Alexandria Va once to twice a month. This is OUR stop. If we meet family or friends this is where we come. We absolutely love the staff and a few have gotten to know us. There is nothing bad on the menu. Whatever they do with the refried beans makes them the best we've had from coast to coast and up and down both seaboards. This will continue to be our go to and our family friends that live here. We stopped at Margaritas Mexican Restaurant and was astounded to find out that the food is authentic, family owned and even met Mom and the decoration was outstanding. Went for take out. (Thursday evening at 5 pm)I ordered at the bar. Asked for a medium margarita as I waited for simple taco order. Worst margarita I have ever had by far. Bartender was young man didn't seem like he knew how to make a drink. Tacos were equivalent to Taco Bell . Cheese just clumped up in soft shell .Not real Mexican restaurant quality. Salsa is awful, no taste. I asked for sour cream on side , didn't get it. The whole staff seems rushed . Bad experience. You'll get just as good food at Taco Bell with a much cheaper price. I left a tip because these young guys and girls work hard. I blame management. The restaurant inside seemed clean. Service seems poor. For the price they charge here, go to chili's. read more

Ordered takeout for the first time Both entrees were delicious and generously sized. The Acapulco Special included two fish fillets, lots of shrimp, freshly sautéed veggies and served with rice and beans. The veggie chimichanga came with two large portions as well as rice and beans and a small container of guacamole, lettuce and sour cream. Accompanying our order was a large bag of chips and two small containers of salsa. When passing through Florence I would recommend Margarita's for tasty Mexican food. read more
