Stopped in traveling through south tonight. What luck! I consider myself a "Mexican food" snob. Let me tell you that I couldn't have been more pleased with my entire experience! The service was seriously top tier (always checked in on me and were genuinely pleasant), the food was excellent and came out quickly and was hot, and the pricing was good. I will be definitely be back next week when I come back north and stop in again in the future. I'm just sad I don't live closer, because if I did, I would be here all the time! Smaller establishment than the larger guys but beats them hands down. The drinks are reasonably priced and strong, strawberry margaritas for my wife she enjoyed. I tasted her fish & shrimp was fresh tasting, the empanadas I don't think would get again but some people might like. Our bill was a fair price for 2 meals & 2 alcohol right at $40. The seating was limited inside but did offer some outdoor tables. Parking in front limited as well but additional parking in back. My wife & I enjoyed, will come back. read more

Great little place with a fun atmosphere. Servers are very attentive and the food is very authentic in a Mexicali type way - if you know, you know. The cocktails have cute little colored ice lights. Hint- order the guac if your table will all partake. It's fantastic but it is a large portion. Street tacos are amazing and a meal in themselves. Street corn is some of the best I've had. Another hint: there is a back door leading from the parking garage side, and it's an entrance. Some locals I was with didn't know this. So unless there is street parking or parking along the side of the restaurant, you can use the back door. read more

I saw the ratings and decided to give it a try. One of my favorite foods EVER is Mexican food, specifically tacos. More specifically carne asada or steak tacos. If they get it right it can be amazing!! I went inside and was initially going to order food to go, but changed my mind. The young ladies working at the restaurant were all very friendly. I decided to sit outside since it was such an amazing evening. Ok, enough BS. I went there for the food. I ordered two asada tacos, one al pastor and one carnitas - based on the recommendation of one of the waitresses. I dont usually get the carnitas but she said it was better than the al pastor, so I went all out. I also got a side of guacamole - their Texas Guacamole has pico de gallo in it, which would make it a bit more spicy. Did I mention I like spicy, I may have forgotten. The food came and the presentation was excellent. They had the tacos sitting on an aluminum baking tray with a rack to hold them up. The corn tortillas looked to be home made and they were amazing. There was meat, onion and cilantro on the tacos. I also ordered some pickled and grilled jalapeño peppers on the side. I may have mentioned the spicy thing. I had to ask them to bring out the non gringo hot sauce from the kitchen. I drizzled the hot sauce all over the tacos and covered them with jalapeños and it was stupendous. The steak tacos were tasty, the meat was tender and delicious. The flavor of the al pastor was amazing, sweet and spicy and salty. The carnitas was also very flavorful, a little dry, but only I put some salsa on it. I tried the meat alone and it was BOMB!! The guacamole was seasoned perfectly - could have been a little more spicy for me, but it tasted amazing. I ate it all!! It was so damn good. I'm thinking about going back tomorrow, but I dont know if or when Ill ever be in South Carolina again. I may need to see if I can find something else. I always forget to take pictures before I dig it. Ill try to remember next time. read more

We decided to stop here for lunch. The atmosphere and the decor gave me happy feelings. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. The staff was very friendly and most were wearing masks. We decided to get a variety of tacos. The shrimp tacos are my favorite and seasoned to perfection! The consume didn't have much of a flavor. But it was great paired with birria tacos. We ordered a yummy slice of tres leches cake that didn't make it for a photo. I'll definitely return to try other things on the menu when I'm in Florence. read more

Try their queso! My fiancé and i frequent a lot of Mexican restaurants and frankly this might be our favorite place in town their food is always good and to be honest my stomach is a little more picky than it used to be and their food doesn't disappoint servers are usually very friendly and helpful and if you're unsure of what to get they will help you decide which is always great for me. It's a cute little place with a nice mural on the back wall they have some limited seating and some outside which we've used on nicer days they do have fans outside which is nice when it's warmer out. Overall I'd say 9/10 only because they have a different price for cash vs credit as most places are going to now a days. Pulled up Yelp to find this spot while visiting family in Florence. The reviews were promising, so I was excited. I'll start with the good. We ordered Chori dip as an app. It's chorizo & cheese dip served with chips. That was delicious. We also ordered 2 elotes which, despite being served lukewarm, had a very delicious flavor. Now the bad. I ordered the birria tacos & the hubby ordered the fish, pork & steak tacos. My birria tacos lacked flavor. The consommé was watered down. I ate one of the three & couldn't bring myself to eat the rest. My husband's steak taco was dry with no sauce to add flavor. The pork taco had some flavor, but again, dry. The fish taco was the only thing served hot & actually had a lot of flavor, but consistency is key. We were very disappointed. However, since all we ordered, besides the app & sides were tacos, my husband said we will revisit in order to give it one more chance & order something besides tacos. But, until I do that, I have to say, I wouldn't recommend this place. I expected more, especially for the amount I paid. read more

I've been here twice and both times I've had pretty good, authentic Mexican food. My first time here I had their Birria Tacos which I thought were very tasty. I never get the "Quessabirria Tacos" when I see them on the menu. I like to let the beef stand on it's own but I do think Salsa Y Limon offers both. My second time here I ordered the Lunch Carne Asada. It had the great flavor you expect to get when ordering the dish but don't expect a thick steak. I've found most Mexican restaurants typically serve this steak quite thin. The rice that came with it was pretty good and so was the Cactus Salad although nothing special. I also had to try their Al Pastor taco so I ordered one with the steak. I know, but I couldn't help myself. I was impressed with the Al Pastor meat to say the least but it should have had more cilantro and onions. So this now my "go to" Mexican restaurant in Florence. It's worth trying for sure. read more

After another 7.5 hours in the car we were starved and needing some southern(South of the boarder) cooking so we decided to try Salsa Y Limon based on Yelp reviews; very good choice. The food is very tasty and authentic as evidenced by the Texas Guacamole. My Chorizo Pollo was a huge portion of chicken breasts with chorizo accompanied with rice and refried beans. My wife enjoyed her California Burrito. We each had 2 drinks ( beer and wine ) and the check totaled under $45 ( tax included) a great find. Abundant portions , nice friendly staff and tasty for little money. Should be on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Next time we are in Florence, we will look to return. read more

On a road trip and stopping in Florence SC for the night. My sister, a true foodie, searched best Mexican restaurant and found Salsa Y Limon. We were there on a Saturday evening around 7pm, and the restaurant had several full tables but was not packed. The food was superb. First we were served chips and salsa, and they bring both small bowls of mild salsa along with a hotter version. I ordered chicken quesadilla with pulled chicken (not grilled). It was delicious, with lots of chicken, and seasoned just right. My sister opted for the chicken tacos, and we shared a guacamole dip. Margaritas (we shared a pitcher) were also very good. I think our total bill was around $40 (sans tip). Note that if paying by credit card, they add on a service fee. This restaurant is not fancy, but a true find. Now we're just trying to figure out a way to stop here again on our next road trip! read more

100% would come back to eat here again. Coming from the west coast, this is by far one of the only Mexican restaurants that has food that tastes just like the ones back home. Not only that but we had amazing customer service from being greeted at the door to receiving our delicious food! Dinner service was quick and friendly. We each got three tacos, which were very flavorful. I would suggest they consider using two corn tortillas per taco to help them stay together. Wow this place is so good. The place was busy but the service was terrific--we were in and out in 45 minutes.7 husband ordered fajitas and loved them. The steak was thick and so tender, not chewy strips of leather like at some places. I ordered two tacos: al pastor and carne asada. Again the steak was delicious, but the al pastor was the star of the whole meal, so tender and flavorful, and the tiny chunks of pineapple have it a slightly sweet flavor without overwhelming it. The next time we're passing through Florence we'll be sure to stop. read more
