Ordered Chili Verde. Hands down the worst I have ever tried. Didn't even eat 3 bites, tried to give them chance. Should have stopped at sight alone. Had a quick bite and this was recommended by the place we stayed. Friendly atmosphere, great servers, chips and salsa and a side of spicy slaw were warm and delicious. Tacos arrived fresh and hot. Chicken was super tender and the beef taco was delicious. Dinner was ended with cinnamon sugar spiced fried flour tortilla chip with whipped cream. Didn't realize that Coos Bay had Mexican food, but here it is. We saw an advertisement for the restaurant & since the Mrs loves Mexican fare, we went for lunch. The seating was close (not a place to talk about family secrets) but comfortable. Nice decorations & atmosphere. When you walk in the door you can smell the odors of cooking food, making you hungry as you walk to your table. Service was quick & friendly. The slaw mixture that came out with the chips & salsa was unique & tasty. I found the refried beans to be smooth & creamy. I believe they are homemade & not from a can. I'm not a big fan of Mexican food. I find it too spicy & hot most of the time or if they avoid the heat, it becomes too bland. But, I am a fan of this place. Ordered the carne asada and a corona. There was a weird, almost gross taste on the corona, then the food was luke-warm and tasted weird also. My previous review from the decade of the 2010's is nowhere to be seen. Once the pandemic hit, I quit dining indoors. Today I noticed the inside area was empty at the start and not many people came in, so that satisfied my desire for personal safety. So what has changed since my last visit? Prices, they have doubled but that is in line with the inflation rate. You still get good value here. There are a few tables outside for eating at plus a drive-up window is also present for that kind of service. What has not changed is the outstanding taste, quality, level of service and a nicely done interior offering both booths and tables. One person or couple will be comfortable while larger groups will have all the room they need. Having tried several Mexican restaurants over the years, Margarita's still tops my list for places to eat. Why go el cheapo at Taco Bell when there is Real Food at a reasonable cost to be had? After you are done dining, take a walk at the adjacent community garden, where the efforts of some fine gardeners growing foodstuffs can be seen. This is a traditional Mexican restaurant with a family-owned vibe. The people are friendly. The food is alright but sometimes not as flavorful as I would like. The chili verse is great! The nachos? Not so much. My grandson liked the quesadilla. I really enjoyed the Chile rellano. Give them a try and see what YOU think. read more

Oh my goodness yummers. Ok this is it. Coos Bay has Mexican. Go for chimichangas and Margaritas! Not alcohol wise too strong but big enough. Drinks please. Guacamole that kicks and the starter with coleslaw and jalapeños/ tomatoes, yes please! They do this fresh and hot Mexican food with tastes "not spiced to death" but not bland. My brother and I stopped in on 7/6. Walked in did not get greeted from 5 mins then when they did they told us to sit wherever. When we sat down he got us drink then did not acknowledge us for 25 minutes yet they weren't busy. Chips tasted like they were out of a bag, salsa was watered down, we ordered queso after the 25 mins of no acknowledgement. Queso came out cold and the waiter was rushing us and hardly spoke english. Got up paid for my ass queso and left will not be returning ever. If u want a good mexican resturant drive 5 mins down to ElGuadalajara it is way better read more

Worst cut of meat I've ever had! Full of fat, and gristle! It was disgusting. The beans, and guacamole were good. The waiter never came back to check on me or fill my water. I Stood up, waiting for my check as my waiter walked around. Looked my way a couple of times but continue to ignore me. I finally had to go to the cash register to pay. Won't be back! However, were very disappointed with their Original "award winning" margarita. Probably the most bland, watered down margarita I've ever had Needed more lime, triple sec or something! Thank goodness my husband gave me his sangria, which was better, but also watered down. I'd be tempted to try another drink, but we would try other Mexican around town first. Casual spot with GOOD food! Yes, you want to stop here! You WILL find something to order from their 5 page menu. Their house-made salsa has a tiny bite from fresh chilies. Good drinks & consistently tasty food. They use fresh fruit in their drinks. Serving sizes are large. Full bar, sit down restaurant & a drive through. We are 18 hours from the Mexican border and in a town without a Mexican market that is more than a snack shop so for what this area is, it's acceptable. It's better than what's downtown and Taco Bell. It's not San Diego good but we are not in San Diego. The restaurant is consistently clean, the workers wear their masks and the food tastes fresh. My friend enjoyed his chili Colorado burrito as well. If you want Mexican and you are in Coos Bay/North Bend it's a solid choice. read more

Needed to find a quick and peaceful bite to eat, and decided Mexican was the way to go. I wouldn't necessarily say anything negative with the service, the waiters were very nice. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant as well. I ordered a combination plate with a taco and enchilada, as well as the mango tangarita. The food was lacking extremely with flavor and didn't have any spice whatsoever. While the margarita was good, it was very weak with alcohol. I love Mexican food and somehow have never been to this place in CB. We sat at the bar and waited for a table to open as it was a Friday evening. We watched three booths get cleaned but no one got us so we asked to be seated again. My girl said her margarita was weak (and she's a lightweight)! Salsa was tasty and the hot one was a habanero purée (yummy). My shrimp were over cooked and the A La Diablo sauce was just chile oil (not right, so using the habanero salsa made it better). SO's carne asada had a good smoky flavor but was a bit chewy (poor quality meat or a bit over-cooked).
