Came here for lunch on a Wednesday Came in, got seated quickly and was served salsa and beans. Ambiance is just a small restaurant, looks old but thats not an issue for me Service was not great, no one checked up on us and we had to get their attention for any needs. Food was dry , I did not enjoy my flautas at all. It said it comes with 6 and they gave me 5 and thought i wouldnt notice? This is where the one star kicks in--- Im not from here and maybe it looks like it. I went up to pay, asked for my plate separate then my friends. I asked for the total he said "14$" i said sounds good, and he proceeds to put in 30.00$ on the card charging machine. I thought maybe he made a mistake and charged for both meals , so i asked again was this just for the flautas? He said yes, has me sign the receipt but puts his hand over dollar amount. Thats when it felt like he was trying to scam me. After i signed, he didnt give me a recipt then i had asked for one and yup 30.00$ and not itemized. I then told him why was i charged 30.00$ and was it actually for just my flautas. Changes the story and said yes its for both when caught. Greeted and seated quickly. We were certainly not in the busy hours. Very nice staff. Chips and salsa were brought quickly, followed by the margaritas we ordered. Salsa is herbaceous and has nice spice, not overwhelming hot. Beans served with chips is nice. Margaritas are good, not too sweet and we can taste the tequila. Music can be heard, not disruptive. Food presentation was nice, looks fresh and plated carefully. Food is fresh, well seasoned and flavored. Chicken and beef were both moist, tender and flavorful. Rice and beans were hot and flavorful. it's a comfortable place to eat with good service clean restaurant however I stopped eating here because I find the meat very greasy. I don't know if it's a lower quality of meat they buy or the way they cook it ( especially the shredded beef) they should drain the grease off before bringing it to your table.Meat is always floating in grease .... In a town full of Mexican Restaurants this is one of the best. Service is always great, and the owners are always there and checking in to make sure things are running smoothly. I'm giving this restaurant a 1 star because the food was so super greasy and they use way to much cheese. All of it. Nothing is fresh and sadly it took less then 5 min to receive our food after ordering. That's not a good sign. Where's Gordon Ramsey when you need him.... Oh my god I am so disappointed with this food it's unreal $14 for a burrito that not only does not have any rice or beans or anything that I asked for actually inside of it. The rice tastes and looks like it was made weeks ago and kept in a large tote, scooped out to be warmed up in a microwave. I can't believe this place was busy!
