Any other Dr I've seen for sick visits have been great as well- friendly, explain everything throughly, well-informed. Nurses are great too. Definitely feel confident that my kids are in good hands with this practice, much more so than my previous pediatrician group. I do however understand some of the complaints about the receptionist and that's why I took off a star. There is one in particular (I'm not sure of her name) who can be very abrupt/always seems annoyed that you're calling. Others I've spoken to lately have been fine though. I love the doctors/nurses here so much I can deal with a little abruptness over the phone.

The lack of communication and the way my calls were handled made the process unnecessarily frustrating. I hope the office addresses this issue and improves the way calls and patient communication are handled moving forward.

I was really nervous and unhappy about it. (previous doctor no longer accepted state employee insurance). I have to say that... SO glad I had to switch doctors! From the moment I walked into this office, Dr. Kaplan and his staff made me feel totally comfortable. They are personable, accommodating and no crazy wait times. Even on the walk in basis for weekly shots. Dr. Kaplan TRULY cares about his patients well being. He takes his time to go over all the details of your care and if anything should be altered in your medications. And, ok this is a little thing but... unlike most offices, they even have a total array of current magazines to read while waiting the 30 min necessary post allergy shot. My experience with the Tamid Medical Group - the medical portion of this spa-clinic - is…read moreunquestionably the least professional I have ever encountered in medicine. I went in for a few simple blood tests which I specifically requested. Dr. Tom Klein convinced me to get my cholesterol tested as well. Sure, why not, I said. When the results came in, he wanted to see me and would not give me the results over the phone. I was worried so I asked to pick up a copy that day. He had forgotten to ask for the tests I had requested! Ok, maybe that's forgiveable. But when I called and asked about it, he was rude and short with me. He fed me some line that he didn't want to give me the results because I might skip out without payment. This is despite having my insurance information and my employer name. Not a very trusting or caring physician and a bad sign since I was a new patient. To cap it off, he hung up on me. Still, I just wanted blood tests and didn't want to go through the hassle of finding another doctor. After a second blood draw and reiterating exactly which tests I wanted, this staff failed AGAIN to get the correct tests done. On top of this, I could not get a straight answer on my bill at all. They are billing me for an amount that they did not submit to my insurance company but cannot explain why they did not submit it or what it is a charge for. I also received bills for the lab tests despite the need for the second test being due to their incompetence. I called no less than five times trying to get in touch with the office manager. After being told she'd call me back each time, they finally told me she's on vacation for two weeks. The desk staff was completely unable to answer any questions and occasionally rude as well. The facility is very nice - caged birds, fish tank, cool wire sculptures suspended in the lobby, and a general spa vibe. There are unfortunately a number of clown artworks, though. In my opinion, one of those is too many. Good decor cannot make up for abysmal service. I highly recommend you find another doctor; I would not trust this business with my health.
