This is a great theater, it really is. I had stopped going since the arrival of the Ovation due to the fact you can reserve seats there. Then I got the news that wehernberg (Now Marcus) had these amazing comfy chairs. I thought, huh...I'll have to check it out on a movie I don't really care about. Then I also heard the game changer - you can now reserve seats! You don't know how much this matters. I love going to blockbusters and nothing is worse than waiting in a long line only to discover you and your group have to split up. Now that I have little ones, that's completely unacceptable. Why it didn't get a 5? I don't know what the problem is here. I don't know if folks that come here just aren't used to reserved seats, aren't being told or just don't care. I never had a problem at ovation, but twice now I've had to throw ppl out of my seats! Oh well. read more

The visuals were so blurry, that one could not even read the credits. The sound was very good, but i wouldn't ever go there again.

I thought because of the updated theater experience I'd be updating with a higher rating. Noooope. When we get to the front of the line, a register opens up. The girl at the register just stares at us. So we walk over. No hi, hey, or how you doing. Literally silence. It was pretty awkward. We ordered our tickets. Then she finally speaks after we get our tickets. "Enjoy the movie." Then as we're walking away I hear her say, ""Hi, how are you tonight?" to the next people. Ok. We decided to skip snacks and drinks. Went to our seats. The seats are good but not great. If you didn't know, you can order cooked food now. That's awesome but there's no where to sit your food. I'm guessing you put it in your lap. That's the other downside. I had to smell my neighbors onion rings. Bleh. Not my idea of setting the atmosphere. My last beef is the main reason I won't be going back. I decided I was thirsty. I get in line. The kid at the register looked up at me. I'd say I was third in line. The first person gets there items and leaves. He tells the next lady, he'll be right back. He comes back. Takes her order. Gets her stuff and leaves. He walks away. Doesn't say anything to me. I'm waiting and waiting. I finally look over and this guy is at another register taking someone's order! I was irritated. He knew I was there. I skipped buying a drink. I just wanted to watch my movie and leave. If you want to see how a movie experience like this is supposed go then travel to the CMX at the Mall of America. You can order food AND the seats come with trays to put your food on. The seating is comfortable and not cramped. This location was more concerned with how many recliner seats they can squeeze in. Oh..best part at CMX if you want a drink then you can easily get one. Shocking! read more

Went here on Tuesday to see Spider-Man: No Way Home with family (we were visiting for two weeks) and was overall very satisfied with the service we received. The exterior of the theater is very illuminating and attractive, with the interior being your general theater admission area. When getting snacks, it turns out that we could get free popcorn! (On Tuesday, the Marcus Theater in Bloomington/Normal is cheaper, so the free popcorn might also be because of that.) The theater had very nice screens and slick recliner seats. The bad reviews don't know what they're talking about. Definitely go to this instead of Starplex (which has fairly more bad reviews). I don't have any photos from the experience, so here's a cursed image. read more

If you're new to town--from a major city--Wehrenberg IMAX is where to go for big film releases. I'm accustomed to the ArcLight theater in Pasadena, CA and off Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, CA. ArcLight is all about a premium viewing experience, yet this little Normal, IL Wehrenberg IMAX holds its own. A recent remodel of the individual IMAX cinema was smart. New Dolby Atmos speakers, updated recliners and a sharp DLP IMAX screen. So whether it's The Last Jedi or Justice League, Wehrenberg IMAX is where you should be going! read more

The lady who checked our tickets was the sweetest lady she even told me about student discounts and refunded me so I got the student discount. The only problem was the seats we had were sticky and filthy it definitely wasn't cleaned but the staff is all very nice read more

Big shout out to Corey who always greets us with a smile & warm welcome! He always brightens our day anytime we pop in for a movie.

Just like your typical theater, but over all cleaner than most. I dont find myself having to clean off popcorn from my seat/surrounding area before i sit down. They have the recliner chairs which are amazing while watching the movie. They are also part of MoviePass which is a great for us since we are members. read more

This is not an impromptu theater. Left without giving them any of my money. Only seats available were 1st and 2nd row. There was no way I was spending the next 2.5 hrs sitting that close to the screen with my 5 year old. Order tickets days in advance or just go somewhere else like we did. read more

This is one of the better theaters in the Bloomington/Normal area. They also recently did renovations so all the seats are now recliner chairs that you can fully extend back, very comfortable. One of the changes I noticed is that you now have to choose your seat before entering the theater. You select your seats on a touch screen and it assigns you a seat to find once you enter the theater. We had no issues with this. For the food, the popcorn I ordered was fresh and delicious although very expensive, about what you'd expect from a theater though. My complaints would be the reward program has gone downhill since they were bought by another company. You used to get rewards all the time but now you have to spend a fortune to get any type of reward. Also, the bathrooms could use a deep clean. read more

My family and I went to see a movie here for the first time last Saturday night. It was as busy as I would expect any good theater to be on a cold Saturday night. I observed the manager, Paris not only interacting and taking care of the customers needs, but interacting with the staff, helping and taking care of their needs. He was proactive and stayed calm and collective the whole time. Had a smile on his face and never let the overwhelming crowds or business affect how he treated his staff or the customers. Kudos to having a great leader and manager because it reflected on the entire atmosphere! We will be back! read more

*whispering* Wherenberg... Wherenberg!... Wherenberg. Honestly, best movie preview opening ever. If you don't know what I'm talking about, see a movie here. You'll notice immediately. The whispering is creepy but hilarious. The theater itself is pretty cool. They have actual food here (chicken fingers, pizza, sandwiches) which is odd but definitely great if you're in the mood for not popcorn. The prices were reasonable (still only a whopping $9 for adults at night on a weekend) and the parking ample. Comfy seats, nice stadium seating and large theaters. I'd definitely make this my theater if I lived in Bloomington. read more

Galaxy aka Wehrenberg (whispered Wear - en - berg)... - most comfortable seats of all theaters in #BloNo - never had issues with sound quality (unlike Starplex #fail) - bathrooms are really clean (this matters to girls big time) - the nice kids working almost always ask for my student ID (i'd buy 'em a beer if they could drink it) Worth the west side drive if you're gonna pay for a theater experience make sure its a good one. And if you want to class it up before or after Swingers Grille is nearby. If you'd rather grease it up you've got plenty of fast food spots to pick form on Market St. read more

First time at this particular theatre. However, I have visited Marcus Theatres in the Chicagoland area numerous times and value the Marcus brand! Out of many chains with recliners (including AMC, Cinemark and Regal), the Marcus DreamLoungers are the most comfortable and also recline the furthest. I love the $5 Tuesdays with free popcorn for Magical Movie Rewards members! We were seated in theatre 11 and the only complaint I have is that the picture on the screen seemed to get bright and then dark at times. Also, we were sitting in row E and when fully reclined, the railing was partially blocking our view. I understand that this theatre is still under renovations, but I'm excited for the improvements! I live an hour and a half away, but will return when I can. read more

"It's the perfect destination.... for every generation... Wherenberg! Wherenberg Theaters!" I often sing this opener... maybe because I'm crazy... or maybe because it's awesome... who knows. I always enjoy my trips to Galaxy. The theaters is always clean, and you can rock the seats back. I have never had any problems with my viewing experience. If you are a student, Wednesday movies are 2 for $6. Honestly the best movie deal I have ever experienced. Why would I want to go anywhere else? read more

I've been to this theater many times. Huge with a large selection of movies to chose from. They have average prices on concession but high ticket prices. Usually very clean with large bathrooms. I love how they have great deals for children and in the summer time offer free family movies at 10am two days during the week. Great place to take the family. read more

While I am happy that Bloomington, IL has a modern theater, with all of the conveniences someone from a larger city might come to expect like: reserved seating, comfy seats, quality screens, I need to take a moment and remind this particular establishment that cheaping out on the air conditioning is a DEAL BREAKER. I sweated through my clothing on a 10:40 PM showing in an empty theater last week. Movies are something people often look forward to in the summer, so if air conditioning is your thing, please avoid this place. read more

This is my favorite movie theatre EVER. They have student prices and comfortable seats. The screens are also huge and sound quality is great. This place is ALWAYS clean. It's hard to find a popcorn kernel on the ground. They serve REAL food ( hot dogs, pretzels and pizza). WEHEREBERG!!! SHHHHHHH.......whsiper read more

The Galaxy is by far the best theatre in town. If you're a student you can go on Wednesday and get a free ticket for your date. The seats and screens are great, too. I pick Starplex, though, on days that aren't Wednesdays just because I live right next to it, and the tickets are cheaper. read more

I have no idea how they decided to put the Wherenberg so far outside of town. It's biggest problems may be that it's difficult to get to and ticket face value is a little above other options in town. However, it's consistently clean with great movie offerings. Alongside the typical releases, the Galaxy also offers many Bollywood offerings and some second-runs. And although the face value of tickets is a little high, regular discounts and deals (e.g., BOGO and half-off with student or State Farm ID) make it actually pretty heap to go most days. Perhaps it's biggest draw is that, unlike Cinemark across town, there seems to be a better clientele. I stopped going to the other place and every movie I watched, regardless of genre day or time, there was some person or group talking, on their phones, or letting their feral children run around the theater. Wherenberg doesn't seem to have this problem, so I've started enjoying movies there. I would like to see their name resolved (They call themselves the Wherenberg, but list as Galaxy.) and some better web presence to address what deals are n what days. But overall, nice theater, read more

Volume so low at infinity wars in theater 9 at a 7:30 Friday show. It ruined the theater experience.

Ok, I have a day off and want to go to a movie. I chose Wehrenberg because of the movie time. I decide to splurge and get popcorn and other snacks. I have to say I have encountered the most DISINTERESTED food staff ever. It is not busy, but staff talk around and over customers. On top of it, the people handling food are not wearing gloves. The staff person who served my drink wiped his nose before grabbing my drink cup and lid. I will be talking to a manager. I remember now why I go to Starplex. 03-16-18 So, gave it another try because I have grown to appreciate the theater setting. Once again, though, neither of the front kiosks worked on a busy Friday night. The ticket taker said his scanning tool was broken and the theater management hadn't fixed it yet. This is the fourth time I have encountered this issue. So, although I allowed plenty of time to get to my movie, I'm late to the show. C'mon Marcus Theaters, I really want you to be my favorite theater. read more

guy at the concessions was a dick also they didn't have pop of slushies movie was a w though

Went here for a birthday party for my twin nieces. Rochelle, the party planner, went far beyond what anyone could reasonably expect to ensure that everything was perfect. My brother and sister-in-law could not have been happier. The layout of this place ensures that one does not feel crowded; very spacious. I agree with the other comments that the bathrooms are clean. In fact, the whole facility is so clean that it practically looks brand-new. The seats are absolutely the most comfortable theater seats I've ever experienced. Coming from someone who has been known to avoid attending movies due to lumbar pain, this is significant. Great leg room, also. For the first time in at least two decades, I experienced no back discomfort at all after sitting through a movie. Large screen, clear picture and sound. Best theater I've ever been in! read more

Muggy on a hot day. Why don't they have the air turned down. I'm in the theatre sweating. Side note, picked a seat in the middle but when I got to theatre my seat was not in the middle. Hand to god, I am sweating as I seat here, how am I suppose to enjoy this movie. And while I am at it I've watched four commercials. Not previews, commercials. read more

Went to this theater for the first time in a long time and wow is all I can say. The new seating in there is fantastic. Has little couches and single seats and all of them automatically recline. So fantastic if it would you been so easy to fall sleep. Where to go and they even sell some food items now more than just popcorn and candy. I just wish itFull menu like the ovation. read more

This theater is clean and very nice. Has reserved seating and recliners. I go there often and enjoy it.

For me this is easily the best movie theater in the area. The IMAX screen is stellar and the smaller screens have comfy recliners. Staff has always been helpful and nice. The rewards program and $5 Tuesday movies are an added bonus. read more

We saw Ghost and the Shell here at midnight. It was nice theater. Clean friendly staff. J loved that they were open that late. The popcorn was kinda bland. The butter tasted like oil. The seats were plush and rocked. The movie quality was good. read more

Went to see a movie while in town. Staff was friendly, service was quick. Only downside is, for a zero tolerance cell phone during movie policy it was NOT enforced. Real annoying to try to watch a movie and staff not caring about people being on their phones constantly. read more

Love going to wehrenberg dream loungers. Decided to go to see a movie last night on 5.00 Tuesday went to the imax theatre. When we have gone to iMac in the past it is always a little chilly but the heated seats are great. If I am going to a current film, I definitely choose Wehrenberg every time (The Normal for Classics). This is perfect for families, college students and townies and dates. They have the best prices in town, have comfortable seats and offer bogo on Wednesdays with student I.D. I wish they brought back free popcorn Wednesdays with a Wehrenberg card. It's always clean too! read more

This was my family's first visit to this theater. We live 45 minutes away, but were drawn by a special Wednesday night screening of The Wizard of Oz. We were NOT impressed. Our poor experience centered around our seats and the cleanliness of the theater. Our area was pretty gross: sticky armrests, cup holders FULL of trash (mostly old popcorn and candy wrappers), and huge rips, gashes, and tears in the coverings of the seat cushions. My two small daughters, who were wearing shorts, both ended up on my lap because the jagged edges of their seat cushions were cutting into the backs of their legs. We were seated in row F, the back row of our auditorium, and the railing in front of us was so large, there was no way to avoid it partially obstructing our view of the screen. (I'm sure that railing is mandated by some bureaucratic safety requirement, but it would be nice if the obstruction was somehow indicated on the website, so the issue was known by the customer BEFORE being unpleasantly surprised at the theater.) Our family loves theaters with bonuses like reclining seats and reserved seating. However, based on this theater's poorly kept facility, we will not be returning. read more

My favorite theatre in town. Theatres are clean and always working properly. When there is a line, it moves quickly. Staff seem well trained and polite enough. They do have a reward program, which results in free tickets and popcorn, which is a nice perk. They even facebook specials, like costume concerts, etc! read more

I tend to get bored on every trip home, so I end up here at least once. I love Wehrenberg! And no, you can't go to a movie and not whisper along. Prices are cheaper than the east coast but I think more expensive than Starplex. If I remember correctly from all my years in blono, "they" were always talking about the "new theater coming in" where Starplex is, but Wehrenberg beat them to it, and Wehrenberg turned out to be way better. And the kids behind the counter get points for dealing with my crazy mother. Thanks guys. read more

Very nice and nearly new theatre for the area, and IMAX bonus is a major plus. It is great to have one right here in town instead of going to Peoria. They have lounge chairs! (except in IMAX) read more
