Update: This theater continues to remain one of my go to theaters. They are doing their best to keep on the seat maintenance (I haven't had any issues in awhile). The food is still spot on. The Movie Reward Discount Tuesday's are great. __________________________________________________ This has been my favorite/go to theater for quite some time. Popcorn is always spot on and the theaters have been reasonably clean and comfortable. Over the last couple years they have made some changes though that one would think are improvements. They added Dreamlounger seats to all their theaters instead of the older fashioned fold down cushioned theater seats and have also added a bar off to the side of the original concession stand. The seats are great but after a couple years you can definitely see the wear on the seats. It appears that their maintenance of the theaters along with the seats has fallen off. I feel they used to better at maintaining and cleaning their theaters. I don't really need the at my favorite theater but I thought it was a nice idea (you can even bring drinks in the theater like other theater concepts). I tried one of their cocktails for the first time, a Fantastic Mojito, and it was heavy on the mint and club soda and lacking berry puree and rum. The bartender was nice enough but she didn't seem happy to be there. I'm not expecting the best drinks from my theater but if you're going to have a bar the drinks should at least match what they are on the menu and at least be average. Definitely disappointed in my favorite theater. I even use their Marcus Rewards program. I'll think twice about coming back next time considering that their prices are high for the area. read more

So this is how rich people watch movies. I mean, that is how I imagine it. Relaxing on a leather recliner and watching a movie on the big screen. The whole time, I am chomping on a pizza, while holding a beer in the other hand. The bad part is that this isn't inside my mansion. The good part is that it's $5 movies every Tuesday! This place sure has changed since the last time I was here in the early 2000's. All the changes are for the better! I used to come out to this theater years ago...at the time it may have been one of the 'better' ones even though it was a small haul to drive to. I was out for dinner and wine last night in Glen Ellyn and we were looking for a movie around 8pm and we found one here. My friend had no idea where this place was, I have been here, and my dentist is across the street. It's right off 355 and Lake so it's in a convenient location. So upon walking in this place the lobby is chaotic! If you're paying with a card, step to the right or left and pay at the machine. You can pick your seat at the kiosk. I'm not thrilled with the rising cost of movies, but at $11.25 you get a larger reclining chair so it makes it kind of worth it. Unfortunately we ended up in the FRONT row for this movie, but it wasn't terrible. Since I live closer to other movie theaters, this place wouldn't be my first choice, but I wouldn't mind coming back here. read more

$5 TUESDAY MOVIES!!!! It's a wonderful deal since it doesn't limit you to only older movies. I think the only stipulation is that 3D movies are a little bit extra. At any rate, it's the best value I've come across. The theaters itself are amazingly clean and include automatic, super wide, leather recliners. Also, the screens are large and the aisles are roomy. I haven't tried their concessions but I was impressed with their selection. The seats are plush, reclining gateways to heaven. Double armrests ensure that you're never bumping elbows with the stranger next to you. This place is so amazing. Went with the nieces to see spongebob in president's day. The place is looking great. Now there is a full bar with the option to bring your libations with you. A coatcloser to home "brew and view" for us. Love the assigned seating option. No fighting to find seats anymore. I know exactly where to go, everything is clearly marked. And finally the experience! This theater has seen a number of changes over the past two years. To begin with the parking lot is huge, but you still need to walk a long way so be prepared and it sucks in the winter. The line can be long at times, a lot of shows offer online ticket purchases which I strongly encourage when possible. You can select your own seat now due to the dream light seating that has been implemented in every theater. This change did cause prices to increase, however ever Tuesday you can see whatever movie you wish for $5. They offer a bar now! With real bar tenders. I am yet to try this but sounds good to me! Many snacks of all kinds, borderline meals are served at the concession stand but be prepare to wait. This area of Addison had a lot of great food options from fine dining to fast food so the movies become a great way to make a full day out of something. A Walmart and a SAMs club are near by too! Always come early to this theater because you will end up standing in line for something. read more

We always come to this movie theatre since we like the recliner seats so that's why I'm rating this a 3. Although I'm writing this review because I was upset about how I called at 7pm to ask what time the bar was closing on Saturday, October 14 & the lady on the phone said I'm pretty sure at 10:30pm but let me go ask to make sure. She comes back on the phone & said at 11pm. So we decided to attend the 10:05 showtime In order for it to not be too late. We get there at 9:40 and go up to the bar and the guy (pictured below) said the bar is already close he's just waiting till 10. We told him how come if someone said it closes at 11. He said there's no business. First of all there were a lot of people there and obviously they weren't going up to the bar because of the chairs being up. Then I overheard his friend telling him "won't you get in trouble" and he said "no I always do this." It just got me upset the bartender was making his own hours and chatting to his friend on the side instead of working the hours he suppose to. read more

We had gone there a few times before the renovation and the seats were meh, the lines at the concession were long...popcorn everywhere, dirty beverage area...high school kids with no customer service skills dispatching customers... After the renovation..Magical Movie Rewards program? $5 Tuesdays including leather reclining seats? Pre-selecting seats with the Marcus app....HELLO Marcus Theaters! The app is very basic and could use a little more work but still very easy to maneuver. The rewards program is a must if you love going to the movies, I always pre- select my seats for a Thursday and Friday release, when using the app the rewards program waives the online 2.50$ convenience fee. The bar OMG! the drinks are pricey but its the movies and yet still a drink well worth it. I love this theater, i have not had a bad experience there, people are respectful during your movie and I highly recommend it! read more

Came here with family a weekend and absolutely loved our experience here. We were able to purchase our tickets online and avoid waiting in line. The line for the snacks were a little long but we got our order pretty quick and was able to take our seats before the movie started. The seats are spacious and comfortable! The popcorn and snacks were delicious! I also saw a bar at this theater! If anyone wants to enjoy a drink with the movie that's an option too! Take 5s food is super good and fresh and the concession choices are endless. The bathrooms are usually clean and I love you get to choose your seat early. I absolutely love this theater. The fact that there are 2 nights a week for $5 movies is amazing. They have a nice bar and zaffaranos. I haven't tried the pizza place but I hear it is great. However every time I am there I am upset by the service. When the top guy is there the service is spectacular. However when he's no where in sight it's lacking. Long lines to purchase tickets with only 2 people at the box office (6 or more registers). I usually just use the digital box office by the sides-- half the time theyre out of paper. I like that they introduced a scanner for the ticket taker for online tickets. That saves a lot of time for people who purchase on the app. Concessions is an absolute mess. If anything you should have 2 employees for each side. There's no rhyme or reason to the lines. The employees move super super slow when taking orders and are usually interrupted by conversation or a manager (just let the people do their job!) I've managed cashiers before and if there are more than 4 or 5 people in line I would make someone jump on to bring the line down. Instead they have someone over there restocking supplies behind the Concessions stand. For 11 at night with a long line don't you think that can wait???? There should be someone avaliable to give refills on popcorn. If you have 8 registers at Concessions with 2 people taking care of a super long line on only one side of the Concessions stand it just looks bad. I don't even want to buy Concessions anymore (I buy popcorn for every movie I go to) because I don't want to deal with it. The bathrooms are always a mess. There's never any toilet paper in the women's restroom and im getting tired of telling the staff. Don't they have someone designated for maintenence? Shouldn't the people who clean up the theaters after a showing be checking the bathrooms too? Whenever I go to the bathroom there (I try to avoid it but nature calls) I always feel like I have to take a shower when I get home. It's not sanitary. From a managers perspective this theater is poorly run. NOT by all managers but some. This is a great theater with great service. I'm not going to say I'll never come back because that's just a lie. This used to be a good theater, but it is usually dirty now. Food selection is insane--even for a movie theater. They added a pizza restaurant inside, but in general the food is still sub-par and not worth the 100% of the cost of tickets it will cost. Perfect example, rather than the fries that are on the menu they serve potato chips with meals--and you still pay $9+ per person for it. Drinks are $6 pretty much. Marcus has added the deluxe and pre-selected seating, which is convenient, but it's not an excuse to leave the theater poorly maintained. The floors are generally dirty, the bathrooms are a mess and the drink area is ALWAYS a pig sty. I mean, wipe it down during your shift once in a while! We had stopped going to Marcus, but decided to give it one more try. Unfortunately I want my $50 back for the food. They can keep the ticket price because at least Hollywood can make a decent movie every now and again--what a joke. I'd rather not go to the movies then go to Marcus again. read more

I recommend always buying the tickets online, and a few hours before the movie starts because you get to choose any seat you want. The theater itself is nice. It's classy yet modern. It also has recliner seats. However, I hate the bathrooms. The bathrooms are tacky and they are always dirty every time I go. The confession stand area is also always dirty. Pretty disappointed with the theater. When we walked in, on a Saturday night, there was one person selling tickets. Finally get up to scan our pre-purchased tickets and they ask to look in our bags. The actual theater was so clearly not cleaned after the last movie, trash on the floor and seats, sticky and broken seats. We have been going to this theater for years and its usually our go to place to see a movie. We have had mostly good experiences. The three starts reflects that and not our latest experience. Today one person was taking admissions and a line was taking forever. Then the same thing at the snack counter. One employee moving slow. So, I decided to go to the theater and come back later when the line died down. The theater itself was warm and muggy. So, I went out to talk to a manager. She was indifferent and made excuses and extremely insincere apology that I had to wait. She said she would send someone in to the theater to check and adjust the thermostat. I bought refreshments and went back to the theater seething. It was warm in there for the whole movie. I didn't bother telling the manager. Just as I will probably not bother to come back to this theater. This particular experience was a one star. On the bright side the movie was decent, if uncomfortable. read more

I have gone to this theatre for the last time! Out of convenience, and against my better judgement, I went here again. Arrived for my show, was sent to a disgusting theatre and had to ask for a manager. Maggie (the assistant manager) told me I would be receiving two passes for my inconvenience and she'd bring them to my theatre. She never showed. I went back out, and asked where my passes were and was told that the general manager (Jenny) said no because I stayed for my film. Holy wonderful theater experience, Batman! I typically hate going to the movies. HATE. The lines, the cost, the uncomfortable seats, the limited food options. Let me rent the damn thing and sit on my couch at home, because usually it's not worth the hassle. Until now! Because this theater is enormous, spacious, has assigned seating (YES! No more blindly searching for two empty seats together! Why wasn't this a thing millennia ago?!), tons of food and drink options including a swank-looking full bar. And the seats! Can we talk about the seats?! Enormous, spacious, glorious individual chairs with giant armrests and ample cup holders. Tons of room around you to stretch out. And stretch out you will, because the seats RECLINE! And we're not talking that awkward recliner in your friends basement where you need the thigh strength of ten men to get out of it and a weird pulley system to make it work in the first place. Push a button and your legs go up. Push a different button and you're back on solid ground. It's genius! In addition to all that, the screens are nice, the theaters are clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. WHAT. Move over Redbox, because if THIS is how theaters work now, I am BACK! read more

Although Marcus theater was never my "Go to" theater, a friend of mine was able to persuade me with their new lounge type seating. So we went lastnight to see the new "Hercules" movie that just came out. About 20-25 minutes into the movie, the screen goes blank. Turns out there was a power outage. So we all sat there for a good 10 minutes waiting for the power to come on. It did not, nor did any of the Marcus Theater employees come to inform us of what was going on. Finally after a patron went out to hunt down an employee, we were told there was a power outage and not to worry- that they'd be up and running in no time. A good 15-20 minutes go by and now we're told that we had to leave and to hold on to our ticket stub and come back within 60 days to continue our movie. The fact that some of the younger employees were literally screaming in our ear that we had to come back within 60 days made me question if I'd even want to come back. One of the employees just walked away and said "I'm out!". The one screaming in my ear seemed upset but failed to realize that, hey, maybe the PATRONS were the ones who should be upset and that WE had every reason to be a bit disappointed because maybe some of us had to pay for sitters to be there or that we had unfinished popcorn or drinks that we had to leave. It's not about the power outage- I understand that it was out of anyone's control. It was about the way it was all handled. Very unorganized and unprofessional. The least they could've done was refund our money because maybe some of us don't want to return to that specific theater anymore OR atleast give us some sort of compensation (extra tickets, free popcorn, something) for the inconvenience that it may have caused us for the night. Very poorly and unprofessionally handled. On a positive note, the seats are comfty but I'm not the type of person that would compromise quality for some loungy, red seats. Safe to say, I will not return to this theater. read more
