They suck and they don't stand behind the warranty. terrible customer service and worthless in landscaping.

If you are planting your own annuals or perennials, they are great! They have stock that big box stores do not carry. You do pay a premium for their plants, though. I just bought 3 tri color ornamental sweet potato vines. They cost $20. I do not recommend them for trees, though. I chose a beautiful willow tree. There was a freeze, and they asked to substitute it for a different willow. I agreed. It never did thrive and eventually died. They replaced it (which sounds great, but the tree is the cheap part - the labor is expensive!). The workers didn't use the fish emulsion - that I provided (Marcums said the fish emulsion should be mixed in when the tree was planted - and I wanted to give the willow the very best chance possible). This tree died, too. I think the hole they dug was WAY too small. We also got an Asian Pear tree with the first willow. It also died. It came up from below the graft line and is green and growing, but it is no longer an Asian Pear and doesn't fruit. We have spent almost $1,000 on these trees and have no willow at all, and whatever the root stock is for the Asian Pear. We paid the premium for them to plant the trees and guarantee them, but it did not work how I thought it would. Just go to Costco or a Farm Supply store, and do it yourself. Even if it doesn't live, you will only be out a little money. read more

I was looking for several things: a white poinsettia for a friend, a wreath made of birdseed, and a chimenea. Guess where you can get all those things in one smooth move? Marcum's! I stopped in last Friday on my way to visit a friend's backyard. Sheila helped me pick out everything I needed (poinsettia and birdseed wreath). But I just couldn't pass up these beautiful chimeneas, as we head into winter, and much more time at home and what will certainly be the worst months of the pandemic. I feel like this will be the gift that keeps on giving. They helped me load it into my car, and gave me great instructions for how to prepare the chimenea for use and maintain it. I was happy with the price, the service, the overall experience, and all the choices they had. read more

Marcum's nursery is my go to place to shop for my plants. If I have a question about one of my plants they are the first place I contact. I purchased my home 2021. There were no plants in the backyard. No way can I have this. Marcum's here I come! One year later my yard, front and back is looking great! Can't wait till next Spring!!!! Visited this location during the weekend of it's Midnight Madness sale. It's not my normal Marcum's, but I was in Norman and we decided to make the short trip to Goldsby. The madness prices were reasonable and they had plenty of plants to chose from not 1/2 dead ones like you'd find at your box store. We picked up a couple of dinner plate (large blossom) hibiscus plants for 1/2 price. 2 - 1 gallon rose bushes at about 30% off, fertilizer and just roamed around the grounds looking at what they had and making mental notes on what to buy next spring. The staff was very helpful and friendly and made sure that we had boxes and ties to get our purchases home. We have a truck, we didn't bring the truck because we didn't expect to buy anything. Well, our back seat and truck of a VW Passat was full of plants. I recommend Goldsby's Marcum's. read more

The staff is super helpful and they have such a variety of options for plants, garden decor, planters, the whole nine! I ended up getting more plants than I originally went on for because they helped give me so much confidence in becoming a plant parent to a bunch of lovely succulents. This place really impressed me. Huge selection, lots of variety, reasonable prices and friendly employees. This was our first stop at this location and I was surprised that it was much larger than what you can see from the road. Several more greenhouses and rows and rows of flowers, trees and bushes behind the building. We usually do most of our plant purchasing from places like Atwood, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc but we definitely plan to come back again and get more. If I could live at a nursery, I would. And K&K would be a solid contender for the nursery I would pick. Set off of Sooner Road right next to Jake's Fireworks (so if you need to blow things up AND plant them...you're in luck!) K&K is definitely one of those places you have to be consciously headed...you don't just happen upon it. Once you're there, though, it's totally worth the trip. I was pointed at K&K by a man that's as close to a professional gardener as I know, and it was one of the best tips I've gotten. It's obvious that they take care of their plants there. In fact, the first time I stopped by, just to scope them out, their entire staff was hustling all of their plants into the greenhouses, in preparation for the storms that were brewing. And every time I stop by, they always have lots of people on staff, tending to the plants and just available to answer questions or lend a hand. Their prices are completely reasonable, and at $27 for a 20 plant flat of annuals, you can afford to splurge and go a little plant happy. If you're nerdy enough to care about what potting mix you use, they also have a pretty good deal on a 2.8 cubic feet bag of their soil, Metro Mix. So go by K&K this weekend! K and K Nursery has been our go to nursery since we got to Norman. We called and scheduled a landscape plan we could accomplish over five years and Megan with her staff set us up a great layout. We recently had our front yard beds cleaned out and some plants planted. They did a fantastic job and our yard looks better than ever. I wish we had more nurseries like this in California! As a professional horticulturist, arborist and garden columnist, I know what to look for in nurseries. Although there is a good selection of annuals, the emphasis is on trees, shrubs and tough perennials that should be relatively permanent features for local gardens. (Unlike in California where the nursery industry relies on annuals and disposable froufrou plant material that does not last too long.) The lady who asked me if I needed any help is a professional horticulturist. She happened to mention that there are other horticulturists there who are experts on specific types of plant material. For example, there is a horticulturist who is more familiar with the yuccas that I had interest in. This was in unplanned visit; so I would like to return when I have more time to look around and get more information about gardening in Oklahoma. All I did was get a few pictures for my gardening column. One picture of a hibiscus can be seen in the first week of December in the Canyon News of Beverly Hills. (My price rating here is relative to prices in California. I really do not know how the prices compare in Oklahoma.) read more
