They had the holiday creamy Vanilla Coke Zero sugar here and celery for $1.29 unbeatable price. I also went to close outs and saw dove face wash 3 kinds and tried it at home - absolutely amazing I'm going back to stock up!!!! Wonderful shopping my friend frequents and likes this location! I love shopping at Marc's. Groceries are always a good price and the closeouts are great!

This place is always busy!! Marcs is that discount store where you can find the most random things at very discounted prices. A chaotic mess of items that if you are patient, can find some real deals. The thing is if you see something you like, gotta buy it then or it's gone! I've seen the most random things from $20 prom dresses to $100 big screen TVs. It seems they bring in items from other stores that didn't sell or have an influx of and heavily discount it here. I've seen Target brand clothing or sports team T shirts for sale. Marcs is one of those places where you never know what treasures will be there in a week. There is a cage in the back of the store with colorful parrots that may say hello or talk to you. I think these are owned by Marcs's owner. They've been a staple for years! Other random decor like a pony or stuffed items are on display around the store. These are decorations from the former "Marcs Fun Time" - basically like a Chucky-Cheese of Marcs. Lines get long fast and there is a steady influx of older folks streaming in taking their time to shop. There's always that one person who writes a check for their bill! Patience is needed at Marcs! They do employ a lot of high school teens, but there are some folks who have been there for years! They still sell some snacks by the exit in this sorta deli. Hot dogs, popcorn, etc. Good luck finding parking close by. It's a zoo on the weekend since it's in the same plaza as many other stores. Try going on a weekday. read more

They have birds in a small office next to the meat and produce department. Employees often pet or clean the birds without washing their hands. The poor birds scream constantly till they shut the door with no windows to shut them up. They bite the employees do too stress and no sunlight. read more

First time here since moving to Ohio. Came in, was greeted briefly. Went shopping for five minutes before I heard the xclosing announcement. Within thirty seconds of that announcement two young employees started to follow me demanding I check out right then. When asked if I can grab my last items they told me absolutely not, it was seven, the store was closed. Normally if I know the store hours I wouldn't come in that close to closing. I did not see the store hours and stopped on my way home from an outing with my kids. My complaint is if you can have someone greet people then demand people to leave right at closing no ifs and or buts, then have the decency to warn the people walking in minutes before closing and don't have attitude with new customers. Sadly, it's the end of an era for Marcs. We have come here on nearly every one of our yearly visits to Cleveland. This time, the things that made the store unique were missing: No more birds in the back corner. No more snack stand at the front of the store with amazingly priced treats like popcorn and sodas. The left side of the store used to be filled with unique finds, but now it is not much better than a dollar store and the selection was unsurprising and mundane. Of course, most of the area is a grocery store, but despite the illusion of being a discount grocer, the prices are consistently more expensive than Walmart and often around the same as grocers such as Giant and Safeway. read more

My favorite store is Marc in south land great store I love looking you never know what you may find,

People either live or die by Marc's. Some people think it is a zoo and try to avoid it. A lot of those people (mom!) prefer stores like Heinens and take a real stuck up attitude and turn their nose up to Marc's. I was in the Southland Plaza today and stopped in Marc's for some living essentials, preparing for my move to a new apartment. Marc's is great for paper towels, little nick-nacks and other weird items for your place. People were extremely friendly today. I think a lot of them were because it is Christmas Eve, and others were just naturally inclined to be nice. I thought I was losing my sanity when I heard almost a siren call. Not a beautiful song from a temptress on an island; a deafening screach of terror and alarm. I paid it no mind. I approached the back of the store and saw a sign that said "Birds". This Marc's has a few beautiful Cockatoos and a Crimson Mackaw! They were saying hello to me and I was entranced for a good 20 minutes. I stood by the beautiful blue bird and shared many exciting and enlightening moments on this beautiful Christmas Eve. I was actually sad when I had to walk away and turn my back on him. He came right up to me and stared into my eyes and said "Hello" in a robotic voice. I found it so odd that these amazing birds were in a Marc's (see attached). I was intrigued by them and wondered how they felt about being there. They made my experience that much more special. I will try to come out here and visit when I get the time. read more

Marc's Stores - My new best friend! - Grocery Near Me - Middleburg Heights, Ohio

BIRDS. That's all I have to say. No, but seriously. It's a Marc's store. It's got this bizarre, haphazard layout where the aisles are too crowded and there is stuff piled in every nook and cranny of the store. They sell groceries, but I don't think too many people go there for the groceries (OK-- maybe some people do). At this lovely Marc's, you will find the following things: 1. A giant scale near the Pharmacy where you can weigh yourself in front of everyone, if that's your thing. 2. A never-ending bin of random mis-printed pens that are like 20 for $1. 3. A weird merry-go-round thing on the ceiling that has like... one old pony and some other obscure object on it that really makes no sense at all. 4. Occasionally, free animal-shaped guest soaps that melt when they touch your hands (especially fun if you have kids. note: I only saw this once). 5. Birds in the back. No idea why they are there, but sometimes they yell and whistle at you. 6. Caricatures of Marc Glassman, the owner of Marc's 7. A food stand where you can get hot dogs, pizza bagels and Icees that are priced so low you actually become a little afraid to eat what you order. We're talking 50 cents for a bag of popcorn that is bigger than a theater-sized jumbo bucket. 8. Super, ultra brown bananas for a nickel (must sell today!) 9. Hearing aids at customer service. There is always a line of 95 year olds waiting for them. 10. Really long lines. Always. And someone always insists on writing a check for their groceries there, and then you have to wait like 15 minutes for someone to sign off on said check. Who the heck pays for groceries with checks? What year is this-- 1990? read more

I am fond of most Marcs. This one is my favorite. It has a bigger selection and I have only had 1 guy whom worked there whom was out right rude in 12 years. I like the prices and suprise s I find. I recommend it. read more

Rude employees. 16 year old with bad attitudes standing around complaining they have to work and actually so rude they stand there talking about the customers in a negative way. Even manager was useless. This store is horribly run. read more

spoiled meat, outdated food, filthy floors and shelves. Dairy products sitting on the floor for over an hour waiting to be put in cases, and no matter how many people in line or how few things they have it takes forever to check out. We were lucky enough to be able to use employee restroom in back for my young son when the others were out of order/and one was occupied. THe warehouse where food is stored is DISGUSTING and DIRTY. Stay away your health is more important than saving a few bucks. read more

Marcs prices on certain items are much better than some places. Try to avoid this place during the day, you have to deal with the 80 and over crowd. Just like most places you will encounter the occasional creeper that stares at you everytime you see them in the store. Go their at night, much less crowded. Not too impressed with Marcs. The cashiers are often rude, and they don't thank their customers for shopping at their store. They don't take Master Card or Visa; and if their excuse is that what keeps their prices down, I question that. I have found prices the same or even less expensive at other stores than Marcs. However, I must say that their closeouts and produce are good. read more

Flagship store. I still remember my shopping experience back in the late 70s at the first area Marc's. Since then Marc's has grown into a formidable force in the wonderful world of grocery stores. The close-out area is my favorite place to find unexpected bargains. The groceries are mostly name-brand and at much more reasonable everyday-low-prices than just about any other grocery chain. Many Marc's stores now have a staffed deli-counter with a variety of meat and cheese items at the best prices anywhere! Marc's is the only serious competition to Aldi's when it comes to stretching your groceries dollar. Marc's has suffered somewhat from their anti-union stance, paying their workers the bare minimum, which obviously does keep merchandise prices down. Like fast food, textiles and exotic fruit, I'd be willing to pay a little more to assure better conditions and wages for the workers making it all possible. Marc's employees should be better compensated for their work. That's the only reason I can't give a five star rating. Room for improvement! read more

I have been shopping at Marc's for quite awhile. I have ran across expired food several times but decided to stick with Marc's because they are on the cheaper side. I made sure to always read the dates of my food though. Recently Marc's hired an outside company for security purposes. My last visit at Marc's the security guard at the door asked me to open my purse so that he can make sure I didn't steal anything. I was surprised because I had just came out of the line where I paid for my groceries. In fact, I also stood in the food line to get my daughter some popcorn but the line was too long. I was the only African American person in the store and he decided to check my bag. I explained to him that I just came out of the line and paid for my food. I opened my bag and showed him my wallet and keys which were the only things in my bag. He berated me as I left telling me that he would check my mom and dad if they were there. I decided to go back in the store to speak to the manager. I spoke to two different managers and both were surprised that he checked my bag. One manager stated that he was there to check receipts and stickers. I left the manager my information but decided to call customer service the next day. The customer service rep seemed surprised that he checked my bag because they were only suppose to check receipts and stickers. This is the second time I heard this from a Marc's employee. A week later I called customer service back after they told me they were going to investigate the situation. The manager of customer service said the security guard didn't do anything wrong even after the security guard berated me in front of my child. I know that the security guard racially profiled me but Marc's made excuses for him. I would have had more respect for Marc's if they were to just apologize for his actions and hire a new security guard! This leads me to believe that Marc's is o.k with minorities being racially profiled in their stores. I will never go to Marc's again! I'm no longer welcome. read more

I"m fairly new to the area, so I'm trying to find my "go-to" stores. Marc's won't be one of them. Although they have a huge selection of groceries, it seems like they purposely put roadblocks in every isle, making it almost impossible for two-way traffic. I like to shop fairly early in the morning. Every time I've been in the store, the people stocking the shelves practically run over the customers with their huge carts, and they have absolutely no regard shoppers, blocking large portions of the isle and not offering any help to people trying to reach the shelves they are blocking. While I've heard complaints about having to wait in long lines, that has never been my experience, but I will comment that the cashiers are often unfriendly and nasty. I once tried to use the express line. After ringing up my purchases, the cashier noticed I was writing a check and made me use another line, even though it was not posted that checks were not accepted there. If you expect decent customer service or a friendly staff, you probably won't find it at Marc's. Shopping there is so frustrating for me, that I am willing to pay a bit more for an easier shopping experience. read more
