On the first occasion they told me to check with my insurance company first, and on the second occasion told me to check with my dealership, stating that they suspect the issue is covered by some sort of warranty. Based on these experience I consider this shop as very honest and have continued to use them through out the years. Their prices for routine stuff like oil change and state inspections, as well as other repairs, are much cheaper than my dealership. They also have a quicker turn around time and do offer rides if you ask them. The employees have been courteous in all the times I've dealt with them. I protested that he didn't call before doing the work which was so expensive, but he wouldn't release the car keys until I paid the full bill saying the local police could come if I refused to pay for the services... he put me in a terrible position having to explain to my wife how we were robbed from such a trusted mechanic on an invoice which was 1/10 the value of the vehicle!! several years later, now I see on YouTube videos the bulb and plastic activator can all be replaced by just a screwdriver in 15 minutes... so I'm warning all of you, to be careful! Fast forward to August 2024- dropped my car off for a routine oil change, picked it up to an unexpected $400 bill, with $200 of that being labor. They changed lights that didn't need to be changed, a key fob that I didn't ask for, amongst a few other things. Never once was I called and asked if this was ok. I was expecting to maybe spend $150 max and was taken by surprise. When I spoke to the owner he was argumentative and rude.
