The best care ever. I was a patient of Dr. Matika 10 years ago, but still the best care I've received.

Dr. Matika is wonderful! Her office manager is incredibly sweet! If I ever have foot issues again, I will definitely be seeing her again.

This review is LONG overdue, but here I am! And I'm about this surgeon!…read more Dr. Cha did my ankle surgery in 2024 after a soccer injury left me with multiple ruptured ligaments, and I truly could not have had a better experience. From the beginning, I felt like I was diagnosed properly and knew exactly what needed to be done. The surgery went incredibly well, my recovery was much faster than I expected, and anytime I had a question or concern, he addressed it directly and honestly. His staff is also amazing and made the entire process so much easier. Also, kind of a weird thing to include in a review, but I get compliments on my scar ALL the time. It is barely noticeable, which I feel like deserves some recognition considering he had to put my ankle back together. Lol! As for Dr. Cha himself, if you're looking for warm and fuzzy, that may not exactly be the description. He has a very dry personality and sense of humor, which I personally found hilarious. I thought his personality was great! But more importantly, I found him to be excellent and knowledgeable surgeon! I trusted him completely (which says a lot since typically pretty skeptical of just about everyone.) And because apparently ankle surgery wasn't enough excitement, while I was there I also had him make me custom orthotics. Nothing makes you feel 800yo quite like being excited about orthotics, but I have to admit they have been LIFE CHANGING. I've recommended Dr. Cha to basically everyone I know who has a foot or ankle issue, and I'll continue to. Hopefully I never need another ankle surgery, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to him. :)

He is always cheerful and seems to love his work. He always makes me feel comfortable and confident in his services. I prefer this location beccare the waiting room is bigger and parking easy, but the Santa Monica location is good too. Pleasant and efficient staff.

No longer wild about this office. Dr. Baravarian was the result of a lengthy search for someone…read morewho was an expert in an ankle problem I was having. I had high hopes initially, but over time I realized he lacks, or is unwilling, to be honest, or admit either differences in opinions regarding stem cell usage or Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), or admit misdiagnosis/acknowledge the difficulty in diagnosing something, or errors in sizing orthopedic inserts. He comes off incredibly arrogant, and incapable of admitting a mistake or an wrong doing. Then I realized podiatrists aren't really "medical" doctors... the term MD is reserved for orthopedists, so after getting nowhere, I went to Cedars. I was also told I had to make two separate appointments to receive a short (dress shoe) and long (regular shoe) inserts (made at the same time, and available at the same time) because that's what my insurance requires (BCBS). I've never had to do that before, so now I need to research the validity of this claim to know if they're just trying to gouge patients.

I then brought in my 20-month-old son, who was running an extremely high fever and was visibly miserable, crying, and clearly in need of medical attention. Instead of checking my insurance immediately, the front-desk staff had me complete approximately 15 pages of new-patient paperwork. After I finished everything and waited another 15 minutes, I was finally told that the clinic was not in network with my insurance. This was incredibly frustrating and upsetting because insurance coverage was the very first question I asked before coming in. My sick toddler and I lost valuable time when he needed to be seen as quickly as possible. It would have taken only a few minutes to verify the insurance before requiring me to complete extensive paperwork. Perhaps the doctor provides excellent care, but the staff needs better training on how to handle urgent situations involving young, sick children. There was no sense of urgency, compassion, or respect for our time. Based on this experience, I would not recommend bringing your child here as a new patient without independently confirming your insurance coverage first.
