I had ingrown nails for years, and my right big toenail had been dead for about 10 years after repeated dance injuries. For the longest time, I just painted over it to hide it, but I finally decided to get it removed. Dr. Tseng was wonderful -- kind, gentle, and a great listener. He removed the dead nail, trimmed my toes beautifully, and made the whole process feel more like a relaxing nail salon visit than a medical procedure. I've been seeing him for about a year now, and my toenail has grown back so much healthier. He's also great at making small talk, which makes the visits easy and pleasant. The office staff is equally friendly, and I never wait long for my appointment. If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to confirm appointments via text instead of phone calls -- sometimes I miss their calls and have to call back. WOW! Following several hours of study with YELP, I chose Dr.Tseng and I'm so pleased I did. I've had chronic pain on the side of my left foot when I had a shoe on. I was apprehensive ... what was I going to learn? An operation? ... It was easy getting an appointment on the same day I called. I think Veronica, the person I spoke with was kind and understanding. I was feeling better already. The staff were professionals ... Tim, who apparently "runs the command center" was great and had a good sense of humor. Dr. Tseng was so understanding ... he advised that a part of a bone was making contact with the side of the shoe. What he explained next convinced me beyond doubt I had chosen, with the help of YELP, that I made the right choice. He said that one of three choices would solve the problem; (1) visit a shoe repair and have the shoe heated from the inside and request that, while warm, stretch the shoe outward, or (2) wear a soft bandage that has a hole in the center ... he suggested it was available on Amazon, which I found instantly ... the soft cushion around the hole would keep the shoe away from my foot, or (3) an uncomplicated surgery in his office. He also said I would not have to wear a cast or large boot and the stitches would be removed in two weeks. He would remove a small section of a bone that was causing the pain. Dr. Tseng's resolutions were professional and demonstrated a desire to resolve the issue without surgery. Here's a doctor interested in the patient first vs. $$. We Yelpers are fortunate. We have a resource we can consult to find the right person service or place we need. For me, Dr. Tseng is the "best of the best." read more

I went to a local podiatrist for pain in my toe. His diagnosis was that my toes were rubbing together due to a bunion. The toe looked infected. I asked if it could be an ingrown toe nail. He quickly dismissed that. He had me try a few things and after three visits and absolutely no improvement he said he had no idea what the problem was. I found Dr. Tseng on yelp and within a few minutes of my first visit he said it was an ingrown toenail and treated it. I've been pain free ever since. I had suffered with this pain for 2 1/2 months. Dr. Tseng is friendly, but he failed to treat my broken foot with the proper care. He insisted on physical therapy and steroid shots and told me that a cast or knee scooter would be considered overreacting. It wasn't until I went to another doctor that they had me get an MRI and caught that the broken bone was causing tissue to die due to blood loss. By then it was too late to save the tissue because of Dr. Tseng's poor judgement. read more

Although I liked meeting Dr.Tseng, it was a really painful experience working with his staff, especially Tim. I would really hope other Doctors and especially their staff treat their patients better than this. Let me provide background. I saw Dr. Tseng few weeks ago for excruciating pain in my left foot that was severely impacting my daily life. He mentioned that I have a extreme case of flat foot and I need orthotics immediately. Next steps was for the staff to call my insurance and get the benefits information and call me back for a measurements appointment for orthotics within a week. More that two weeks passed and I heard crickets. No calls, no follow ups. When I called back to check, the staff (Veronica) mentioned that they never called the insurance in the first place. They somehow messed up and my case fell through the cracks. Extremely unprofessional, in my opinion. Finally they called me back after talking to my insurance and mentioned that there were some issue with the insurance company (different insurance listed as primary even though I recently switched). When I heard this, I called the insurance and made sure I squared everything with them which took about a week. After a weeks time, I call back to request them to call my insurance back, to get things moving. Again my experience dealing with Dr.Tseng staff was frankly pathetic. You would imagine that after screwing up once they will at least be humble and try to work with you. But NO! One person named Rebecca, who picked up the call was really distracted, paid no attention. It felt like she was multitasking, made me repeat the story multiple times and eventually dropped the call. I called back again and this time spoke to Tim. Same story again, although he was not distracted, he was worse. He had a really bad attitude, never really tried to understand the background & my pain points and kept on implying that this was all somehow my fault which is ridiculous! At this point I requested to speak with the doctor. He absolutely refused to get me on the phone with the doctor. He said that the Dr.Tseng never speaks to his patients on the phone. I believe that it is a lie. I think the staff does not want the doctor to know about their screw-ups. Even if its policy not to talk to the patients on the phone, it is a bad policy. In this day of remote appointments, if you cant even take 5mins talk to your patients to really hear their heart burn (especially after the staff screws up) then it is unacceptable. I really hope that the doctor speaks with his staff and trains them to better handle these situations. A little bit of organization and humility will go a long way in my humble opinion. As for me I will pursuing another doctor since it would wrong for me to enable and support/encourage such behavior. Overall very disappointed!! read more

The efficiency of Tim made my front desk experience quick and we were ready for the man of the hour. My appointment was at 9:15 and Dr. Tseng (SANG) came in. His bedside manner was a 10. He diagnosed some issues of which I was unaware. We discussed my neuropathy (NP). The unfortunate side of NP is it is basically without treatment. He made a recommendation of some moisturizer for my skin and some treatment for the fungus. This was the best and a complete turnabout from my previous Podiatrist. I came here because I saw the great reviews but Unfortunately I am very disappointed. The doctor clipped off a piece of my toe nail for a nail culture. He did say they it would take about a month to get results back and booked my follow up. So I called a few days before my follow up to make sure they had my results so that I wouldn't have to waste time missing work ...they said they had the results. I show up the day of my appointment to find out they had blood work results from another doctor not my nail culture results. Then they told me it would be a month and half of waiting on results well we are now in October and still haven't even had a call or follow up 2 months later. I honestly think they never even sent my nail clippings to the lab so if they try to bill my insurance for this non sense I will call and raise hell. I had to make another appointment with a dermatologist and they were able to tell me right away what the issue was and prescribed medicine. read more

Doctor Jeffrey Tseng foot and ankle specialist, is one of these few doctors worth taking the time to mention. Dr. Tseng is accurate with his diagnosis, quick at it, and listens to what you are saying to him without cutting you off in the middle of talking. His bedside manner is better than most of the other doctors I've had to deal with in the past. He is also on time for most of the appointments I have with him -- another plus! I kept thinking, do I really REALLY need to see a podiatrist? After the appointment (for a right foot tenderness in the last 7 days), I 100% think everyone should see a podiatrist...well, at least Dr. Tseng. I'm almost 31yo female who hasn't had one single sprain, fracture, broken bone in my LIFE until recently. After a 6mi run (I admit, it was a while before the 6miler), I felt good...until the next day. My right foot was tender to walk on and I definitely had a slight limp to my gait. After a week of the same pain, I gave up and looked around Yelp to find me a great podiatrist. I got a same day (within an hour of calling!) appointment with a friendly front desk gal named Eunice. It's right across the street from Torrance Memorial, and within 10 min from my home in Redondo Beach. Dr. Tseng has excellent bedside mannerisms (I'm a nursing student, so I know how mean dr's can get sometimes!). He's conversational and tries to get to know you as a person and a patient. Within a few minutes of bending and putting pressure on my feet, he diagnosed me with Peroneal Tendonitis. Thank goodness because I totally thought I had a stress fracture! But me being me, I HAD to ask how he came to that conclusion and what assessments showed him this diagnosis? He was terribly sweet and showed me exactly step by step of his assessment. The ambiguous foot pain FINALLY MADE SENSE! As side notes, he also mentioned a few things to look out for in the next 5-10 years with my feet. Although my face probably looked ghastly from the surprising news (because I'm only 30 and never had foot problems before), I actually really really enjoy knowing possible problems with my body in advance. I totally think that prevention is what healthcare needs to focus on, instead of letting things decline into a downward spiral of craziness. He's in the business for the right reason. I asked him, "Why podiatry?" and he basically said that he really enjoyed having the long term relationships with his clients. Nice, I like that. Dr. Tseng is thorough with his assessments and explanations, will put up with tons of questions (like me!) without looking rushed, and not surgery happy. Love, love, and love it! read more

Nothing special about the office it looks a little out dated and there was no music for background noise so it was really awkward in the waiting room when your looking at the person across you in silence for 20 minutes.. The main reason for 2 stars is they sent me a statement for less then $9 because my insurance didn't cover the whole visit. I work at a dental office so I know how it works with insurance and all that but come on. Your coming after me for 9? I don't mean to put my foot in my mouth, but Dr. Jeffrey Tseng (DPM) saved my social life. Before visiting Dr. Tseng, I'd come home from a long day of work and my feet were in AWFUL shape from spending so much time in improper shoes and unhygienic care. I would get home, shower, and as I dried off, my roommate would hand me my socks right away, saying that she couldn't stand the sight of my disgusting feet. She kept a nose plug on her person at all times, and she cringed whenever she looked at my muddy, sandy boots. Luckily, Yelp directed me to Dr. Tseng and it changed my life. Long story short - after a couple weeks of treatment I came home, showered, and walked out of the restroom with my socks intact, not wanting to stir my roommate's wrath. But she noticed that my feet were different and asked me to play a random game of twister with my socks off; and my feet were the true stars. She was so surprised that there was a normal pair of feet under the corns, warts and god knows what else Dr. Tseng removed. There's no treachery afoot when you choose Dr. Tseng. He's footacular! He's Toe-riffic! A real sole brother from another mother! He always puts his best foot forward, and now thanks to him, I can too! Both my feet, in fact! Sometimes I just walk around the beach screaming at people to look at my beautiful feet. They love it!
