He took a sample of the toenail for testing (fungal, mold, yeast, or injury) and said the results should come back by Wednesday. I didn't hear back from him on Wednesday so I called the office on Thursday and left a message. I called back later in the afternoon and spoke to the front desk staff and was told my test results were in, but they couldn't review the results with me (the doctor had to do that) and he is only in-office Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I missed the doctor's call on Friday before 1pm (he left a voicemail indicating I should call back to review the results and next steps) and called back 20 minutes later only to be taken to the voicemail again. I tried calling again at 1:30pm a couple of times and eventually got through to the front office. This time they were willing to give me the results (why now?), but the doctor was no longer in the office and they wouldn't have him contact me. They said they would let him know on Monday that I had called and hopefully he'd get back to me then. Monday is a holiday, so I'm definitely not confident that I'll get results back without having to seek them myself.

I was walking around in pain for a couple months until I saw Dr. Feit, who actually extracted a 3/4 inch large, broken sewing needle from the bottom of my foot on the same day of my first office visit. Right in one of the exam rooms. Problem solved. Afterward, he had an X-ray taken and reviewed it to ensure there wasn't anything else left behind. There wasn't. I followed physician's orders by applying neosporine to avoid infection and keeping it elevated, so by the time I came back for my two week follow up, it was completely healed. It was actually completely healed a couple days after because his incision was so clean and precise. In addition, the staff at the front desk and his medical assistants in the back are great, too. They are friendly and ensure that your visit goes smoothly. Because I was a referral, they mailed me all the necessary paperwork so that I could complete it prior to my visit.

I couldn't walk very far and the pain was negatively affecting daily life. I had already had surgery on my right foot for calcium deposits a few years earlier (by another doctor) when I went to my initial consultation with Dr. Park. My expectation was that he would take x-rays, hear my history, and together we would agree to make plans for surgery. In fact, I asked for surgery within minutes of our appointment. Xrays revealed that I had bone spurs AND plantar fasciitis. Surgery seemed like a no brainer. But NO! Instead, he asked if I could be off my feet for a few weeks to allow my foot to heal. Of course not- I have small children. So we went back and forth and he counseled me on adopting an entire protocol which, to be honest, I was not interested in. If I wanted to see him a second time, I had to agree to do all the things that he advised. He laid out a very boring plan that would help me in the long run and without surgery. We sparred during that initial consultation and I questioned his bedside manner and my combative spirit as a patient. He put my foot in a brace and warned that my recovery with rehab would take some time. I left his office vowing to not return. A week later, I looked at the papers he gave me and started the exercises, the cold water bottle treatments, and threw out my bad shoes. It took about five months...but it worked. The pain is completely gone. Today I run, jump, and have lost 27 pounds. The best way to acknowledge him as an effective podiatrist is to publicly thank him for setting me straight two years ago. If you need an honest assessment and a plan that WORKS, he's your guy.

With science camp approaching the following week, I was genuinely worried about how I would manage all the walking. From the moment I contacted Dr. Aslmand's office, I was impressed by how quickly they were able to schedule my appointment. The visit itself was incredibly efficient and thorough. Within about 40 minutes, X-rays were completed, I received a cortisone injection, and Dr. Aslmand took the time to teach me how to properly tape my foot. He also recommended supportive shoes and provided a night splint to aid in my recovery. The most remarkable part? I finally seen a better professional who cut the side and got my ingrown toenail out and my nail is now back to normal because of my new doctor!!!!! My new doctor recommended me to soak it in Epsom salt everyday for 10 min after getting the ingrown out and my toe is now 100% normal!! The first podiatrist was awesome and compassionate but, unfortunately he left the practice and my mom's insurance was not compatible towards the other location. The second podiatrist at this location just was not a good fit for my mom. Third one was the charm! Dr. Darragh has the best bedside manner one can ask for in a physician. He is thorough and provided options for my mom's issue. She is better now and comes in for quarterly maintenance. He is such a kind and caring podiatrist. His nurse, Tania is also great. She is super efficient , positive, and smiling. She always remembers my mom and I. Depending on who is working at the front office, it can be a no-nonsense operation especially when the doctor is running behind due to an emergency or something. Other times, the front office is easy going, efficient, and kind. They do a great job with the text or phone call appt reminders. They do have a smaller office in Redondo Beach but, this is a better location for us as there are plenty of disability parking spaces in the front of the building.
