I owned a fourplex for 24 years in the Buckman neighborhood. For a majority of those years I received intermittent postcards from Marc and Kathy Rogers, regarding the future sale of my plex.
Fast forward 24 years later, I'm selling the plex. Ironically I had just received yet another post card from Marc and Kathy. But this card I found in my mail shortly after a meeting with a different prospective listing agent. I determined that unnamed agent was not listening to me, not registering my concerns and, I concluded, not capable of operating with an authentic spirit of cooperation and collaboration.
So, what the heck, I called Marc and Kathy Rogers. They sure earned a call in the organized persistence which, as a former insurance agent, I knew to be fundamental to a healthy sales business.
I chose to list with them in November of this year. The sale closed in late January. I could not be more pleased. In fact, I seldom write pro "anything" about sales people, as so many require active translation of their sales pitch to get to genuine fact.
My Plex deal turned out to be a true test of character, ethics, integrity, strength, functional optimism and accountability. Ultimately, the deal got done, albeit a major reboot, few stumbles and finally a fine buyer was found
What I found in the months of working through the ups and downs with Marc and Kathy is that they are 1) very reliable - they provide an astonishing encyclopedia of relevant deals from their long local history, along with fitting warnings about deal breakers, big goofs, little goofs from which they guide negotiation, 2) engaged - they know how to dig into the deal, the property, terms, personalities and banking issues rapidly and with maximum relevant guidance, while being 3) professional - they kept their heads, attitudes and tempers contained and balanced throughout this quite challenging deal.
I could not have been more pleased with my decision to list with them. read more
