Sanagan's Meat Locker is not just a Butchery, but also a market that showcases many high quality artisanal and local products. Their meats are always high quality and enhances whatever recipe you are using. There's also an educational aspect to Sanagan's. If you subscribe to their newsletter, or buy Peter Sanagan's book, you learn so much about what cuts of meat to use with what types of dishes, you discover hidden gems in cuts of meat, not to mention fantastic recipes. I had never heard of flat iron steaks (one of the most tender cuts of beef and very affordable) before Sanagan's and now it's a staple in my household. You are also able to order cuts of meat that are not available at the counter (I ordered duck hearts once) as well as order ahead online. The housemade sauces and charcuterie made by Sanagan's are also delicious. They might be slightly higher priced than supermarket brands, but they're highly worth it. Everyone is also super friendly and helpful at Sanagan's, you just know that they're being treated well there.

Nothing like finding your center and then immediately seeking out a center-cut pork chop. This shop was a short, pleasant walk away and I was immediately impressed by the selection. I left with an armful of goodies: steaks, whole chicken legs, pork, and even some local eggs and house-made bone broth. I also had the pleasure of trying their house-made pork and beef sausages, both of which were fantastic. These are definitely on the list for the next time I have guests over. The service was quick, the attendant got me sorted out efficiently, and the prices were noticeably better than what I'm used to paying in midtown. It's conveniently located right on the 501 streetcar line on Queen St. West. While my hunt for a go-to butcher closer to home continues, I would absolutely come back here anytime I'm in the neighborhood.

Gasparros, Healthy Butcher, Sanigans, Macelleria Venezia all great quality and they have never sold me inferior meat. im this close to calling public health. People coud get sick eating this.

There were several prepared items you could buy: salads, samosa, pakora, beef patties, sausage rolls, chicken cutlets, baked potatoes, etc. There was nothing vegan and gf for me but hubby got beef patties, sausage rolls and chicken fingers (smaller version of cutlets). He heated them at home and both he and my son enjoyed them all. They even sold Cadbury Flake chocolate bars from England so of course that was purchased and enjoyed as well. They have a freezer section and lots more in the back of the store as well. This was a nice local find in port credit:)
