He offered samples with a smile and took the time to explain that they were their most popular flavors, which was really helpful. He was very knowledgeable about the sizes and options, and truly went above and beyond with his service. When they were out of the puréed strawberries, he kindly offered fresh strawberries for my ice cream instead, which I really appreciated. He even took extra care to wrap my daughter's ice cream securely to help prevent any spills. Excellent customer service and a genuinely pleasant experience--we'll definitely be back! read more

My sister, who is a Rockwall Police Officer went to this location today . The man working behind the counter refused to serve her because she is a police officer. For her to be refused service in the city she works and serves is utterly ridiculous. I will never visit this marble slab location. I will say there was a lady that came and apologized and did serve my sister. However, whatever happened in this man's life to not like police officers has absolutely nothing to do with my sister. read more

Disappointing and over priced. They were out of most options. Two kids working. One was friendly but had and I don't care attitude. Every time he got ice cream out to mix he would leave a fourth of it on the slab and then scrape it into the gutter. The other kid was hiding in the back. Not a single trash can in the store. The store was dirty. The owner obviously doesn't care if this store is successful. On the bright side the ice cream they did have was good, but $15 for two smalls compared to other shops. If you want homemade ice cream look no further! When I arrived I wasn't sure if I was at the right place, but Marble Slab is actually just connected to The Great American Cookie. They share the same entrance. I highly recommend the homemade sweet vanilla! I also added pecans and thought it was neat that they mix it up on the ice cold counter like Chill 360 did! read more

We ordered and paid for a cookie cake for a birthday party and were told to pick it up at 11 am Sunday. Show up and it's closed, sign says 12 on Sunday's. We call they answer and leave us on hold while they check....explaining pickups start at 12:30 on Sunday. We show up at 12:15....hand written note says open late today. 12:35 they say 5 minutes....12:48 as I'm walking out to go get a replacement from Kroger....they finally give us the cake...supposedly was delayed due to it being spelled wrong and had to be fixed. Box it's in claims "custom cookie cakes in 15 min". Another customer also had a pre order that they were still waiting as we walked out ...late to the birthday party. No offer of anything to make up for our wasted time. read more

Been open 11 days, but here we are. This is one of the first Great American Cookies / Marble Slab combo shops in the nation, but more are planned for North Texas and beyond. A staff of 7 teenager looking locals were running the line with 3 older managers cleaning and tending to stuff behind the scenes. Service was extremely attentive and bright. Music from Britney Spears played over the sound system. The location is also setup for cookie cakes and ice cream cakes, so they will likely develop big business for events and parties based on what I'm seeing looking around. The ice cream was delicious, the cookies were fresh and chewy. Location was especially clean and still smells new. Lots of windows and bright lighting. I counted seating for exactly 40. It's a little hidden from the main roadway, but easy to see once you come down lakeshore. The location is directly in front of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall. We went in this evening. There were three people working, and it took 25 minutes to get through the line. Two of the workers disappeared after helping one person in line - multiple customers walked out after waiting a lengthy amount of time, and the line not moving. We finally made it to the front of the line, and while the girl was mixing my ice cream, she dropped an entire spoonful Into the water spoon bin, and didn't replace it. So, my regular cup wasn't even half full. Y'all need some additional management and training for your staff. They don't need to disappear to the back with a line of customers out to the door. read more

No doubt they have the best cookies and ice cream around, but I'm a little concerned with the cleanliness of location. We viewed an older employee use her mouth, (yes you read that correctly) use her mouth to open a can of whipped cream. She said "I saw you saw me do that, I don't know what I was thinking, and I'll be sure to throw it away." Not sure if that really happened. One of the employees was so embarrassed about her actions she had to turn around. She then proceeded to wipe her nose several times, and pick a booger out of her nose. Staff not friendly. Used to have a phone number on file from another state. Employee couldn't find, didn't offer to help or sign us up again. Ordered butterfinger in my mix and they were all stuck together. Should have asked not to use them, as they tasted very old!! Very disappointed!! read more

Terrible customer service. We just went there at 10:55, the door was open and the sign was on showing "OPEN". However, as soon as we stepped in, an employee with a very unwelcomed tone told us they were not open yet. And so we left, we just didn't care to wait due to the nasty attitude. Oh well, if you're not open, the keep your door shut and keep the "OPEN" sign off. More importantly, your employees could be way nicer with some basic hospitality skills. Will not come back for this terrible attitude. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

I have been waiting for this place to open as I used to go to Marble Slab all the time when I lived in GA. They have the creamiest, best tasting ice cream! Add some mix ins and make it delish! Although my fave is their coconut (no shavings, only flavor!) my husband had the sweet cream with almonds and marshmallows mixed in and we were super happy! We took ours to go but I did notice the tables needed a little wiping. They also sell cookies, but i'm not a cookie person but they looked really good! read more

Very disappointing....My husband never asks for anything, EVER, except his favorite ice cream cake from Marble Slab that we have special made. We live in East Texas, so I come to town to pick up the cake every year and transport back over 2 hours with dry ice. I called to place the order (website wouldn't allow) and spoke with someone about the order twice, as after we hung up the first time I realized she repeated back an incorrect ingredient. During the second call she repeated the order correctly, including date and time of pickup. When I arrived to pick up my order, the girl behind the counter was the same who took my order (knew by her name). I could tell she was new, as she was looking at the picture on the menu to make a hot fudge sundae for the customer in front of me....and still got it wrong. When I got to the front to pick up my order, she went in the back for a minute, came back and asked if I was sure it was for that day. I assured her it was and told her the date I placed the order. She picked up her cell, began texting someone and walked to the back, only to return a few minutes later to inform me, "someone new took your order and messed up the date, so we don't have your cake." It is very unfortunate that someone can repeat the correct date/time when the order was placed, but somehow now the date is wrong.....makes no sense. Service here has gone WAY down!!! Will never use this location again. It appeared there was not even anyone there to make cakes, as the cooler (which is normally stocked) was completely empty, so I couldn't even get an alternative cake! read more
