We were here last summer - so its been a little while but I realized I didn't post a review. I was there with my two brothers and an uncle. The brothers all came from Colorado for one of the courses. We had a fantastic time! It was safe, and engaging without being so over the top that you couldn't get fully immersed. We did close quarter drills, move and shoot drills and some fundamentals work. It was a hot day. Bring more water than you think you'll need. Highly recommend the program. I wish there were non-season pass options though as we do have to travel to participate so the season pass doesn't fit us very well but if we can make room for even three days it is worth the price, especially compared to some of the other programs out there that want to charge $1,000 a day. If you're interested, do it. Its an experience you don't get at your local range. I have some pictures I'll add later but wanted to write this before I forgot. read more

Marauders I was turned onto Marauders by a friend from work who has been a member for a couple of years now. Firearms classes at the local facilities here in the Phoenix, AZ run from around $100 for basic instruction to 300+ for all day and weekend/multi day classes. Because of the expense of the training and ammo, many people train sparingly and as a result, retain very little of what instruction they do get. The sense you get from Marauders is that training should be affordable and frequent. I attended an "open training" session and the whole experience was unique and beneficial. The day is broken up into sessions and everyone who is training gathers to participate in the day's plans. Basic tactical pistol and rifle, TCCC (tactical combat casualty care), rappelling, shooting and moving, and some scenario-based role-playing reactive exercises (and even a bit of hostage rescue/building clearing) were being offered. Mike, the owner, and his instructors work out with the attendees what is going to be taught when so that you can maximize your training according to what it is you want to work on that day. That last part is what really struck me as useful. Rather than a predetermined program, you can tailor your training. The instructors are all competent and knowledgeable and open-minded, they'll offer advice but let you run your setup how you want to just so long as it's safe to everyone around you. The role-playing exercises are interesting, fun and challenging. Mike ran the ones we did that day and you can tell he loves every minute of trying to get people out of their comfort zones. Something else to note is the level of attention paid to safety; from the moment you show up until the moment you leave safety protocols are strictly observed and followed. At no point did I observe any lapses and have zero concerns about my well-being while at Marauders. read more

My co-worker had bought certificates, for himself some of his family and I, at a gun show here in Phoenix and we took GCS (ground combat school). Since then I have been out for some of the other classes they offer. Not only do they offer an amazing price, the staff is extremely SAFE and professional. The trainings provide real world scenarios and other experiences such as SPECOPS. Before I thought I had some skills but MTT has brought me to a whole nother level. And the more I go the more I learn. read more

If you want to spend a day pretending you're a tier 1 operator or security contractor then this is you place. After spending several sessions out there in the open course formate, I left disappointed at the lack of training that actually went on here. First, there is ZERO training on the fundamentals of marksmanship. There is also zero training on advanced marksmanship outside of basic carry positions during movement. What you'll find plenty of is Tacticool dudes with outrageous gear and little know how. I have taken all of the courses available during the open days and they are surface depth at best. I was impressed with a couple of the instructors there but the curriculum itself is lazy and and provides no assessment of a shooters ability to apply that curriculum. In short, this is an adventure course at best which is disappointing because there is so much potential given the facilities. If you have operator envy looking for a Seal Team 6 experience, this is the spot. But, if you want to acquire retainable skills that can be measured, applied and strengthened by responsible civilians/prior service then look elsewhere. read more

I'm a retired veteran with quite a lot of tactical training. I was looking for an option to keep my skills sharp, and possibly learn something new. After taking several of their summertime seminars at Cabela's, I decided to take their tactical rifle course. My son and I took the class together and couldn't have been happier with the quality of the training. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, non-judgmental, and extremely safety-oriented. The format of the training proved to build skill and confidence in a progressive manner; challenging the experienced shooters without intimidating the newer shooter or leaving them behind. Where else are you going to get training that culminates in a live-fire shoot-house scenario on day one? read more

We were members for a couple of years! We did learn a lot from some of the instructors! Unfortunately, the last time we were out there was a disaster! Mike Simpson, owner! He decided that he was going to participate in one of the missions! He completely lost his mind! He pointed his rifle at a young man because he wasn't doing what he was suppose to do and told him to get off his property! Mike was so violent and in a rage! He then proceeded to scream and yell at others! This is all fact! U can come up with your own conclusions to spend the day with man that could point a gun at you! read more

Took a lesson with one of Mikes associates at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility outside of Phoenix. I asked to focus on the basics and that is exactly what I got. The instructor was very nice and professional and encouraged me to perform my best. He also stayed with me an extra hour at no expense and gave me extra homework to go over. read more

I met one of the owners, Mike, at the Crossroads of the West Gunshow in December and talked to him about bringing our Military Student Club out from our college. After spending a day at the Marauders compound I can tell you that they exceeded our expectations. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, down to earth and professional. The training facility is huge with an abundance of dynamic scenarios. Mike's staff kept everyone interested and though it pored rain like crazy we really had a fantastic team building event. They had all the gear and ammo we needed for a large group (20). When any of our weapons or magazines malfunctioned they either had a replacement ready to go or got the issue fixed without a hitch. Truly, a remarkable company. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five is that because it had rained heavily we had a hell of a time getting our vans and some personal vehicles out of there. I recommend taking only vehicles out to the site that have high ground clearance and 4WD if possible. I can tell you though, if it had been dry that day we'd have had no problem at all. Thanks to everyone at Marauders Tactical. You guys are truly outstanding. We'll be back without a doubt. read more

If you've mastered the skill of punching holes in paper from a supported and/or stationary position, and don't care to raise your skills to a real-world level, then this training is NOT for you. However, if you're interested in obtaining skills that will make you more aware of your environment and proficient with your equipment, then you've found the right place! I'll start by saying that I've trained with MTT a couple of times over the past few years and my review is based upon these experiences. A word about myself, before MTT, I've had no professional training, no previous military experience and have never participated in shooting competitions. I have, however, hunted most of my life and have done a fair amount of "target shooting" at ranges and in the desert...pretty typical stuff. My objective for seeking this type of training was and is to be prepared to protect my family as best as I can and MTT offers a very compelling program for just that! OK, as for MTT...from the very first day you step onto their facility, their foremost and primary concern is for the safety of all participants in attendance. They go very far in implementing measures ensuring that you will not hurt yourself or anyone else on site. They also will not put you in a position that they don't think you (based on your skill level, past training experience, equipment and demeanor) can handle. That said, you will experience situations which I believe 99.99% of most civilians will never experience...that is a good thing in this case! Mike (owner) and his staff are very professional, patient, always willing and prepared to answer any questions and are very good at what they do. It is hard to find this level of training period, much less at the reasonable rates they offer. So, if you're on the fence as to whether you should give MTT a shot or not, get off the fence and give them a try...you will not regret it!! My recommendation, when training, always volunteer yourself to be put in a position of leadership during scenario training. You will make mistakes, and plenty of them. And, this is exactly what you want because there is no better way to learn than to make these mistakes and learn from them. Again, as I mentioned earlier, MTT will not allow any such mistakes to harm anyone as all of the force-on-force scenario training is performed using UTM (Ultimate Training Munitions) and/or Airsoft equipment. As for the non force-on-force live fire training, I assure you, it is safely administered and properly controlled. Another valuable lesson you will learn is identifying where your movements and resources are inefficient (i.e., what stuff is only "TactiCool" and what stuff actually works). By correcting those inefficiencies you will become more adept at properly using your equipment and managing your resources (i.e. firearms, ammo, lights, lasers, breaching tools, etc.). As for myself, every time I train with these guys I learn something new. Over the years I've watched the attendance at MTT courses nearly double, and for a very good reason too! As I said above, try one of their courses, you won't regret it! Rob read more

I am a criminal justice major from Minnesota. Rather than having a typical college spring break, I wanted to do something that I could enjoy and utilize as I start my career in law enforcement. I began researching various tactical training companies in warm areas, to get out of the Minnesota cold. After approximately a week of searching I found Marauders Tactical Training. Upon reviewing their website I decided to call Mike Simpson. Right away I could tell that Mike was a very knowledgable and straight forward guy. After a short phone call I decided to try the Advanced Spec Ops Experience, along with a personal training day prior to. I have to admit, at first I was a little skeptical as I was coming from so far away. However, Mike made himself available to answer any questions I had, and to make sure that I was always in the loop. My personal training day was great! The day was packed with a variety of different training exercises and proper combat techniques. The following day marked the start of the Advanced Spec Ops experience, where I met the rest of the Marauders staff and participants. Everyone was extremely knowledgable and outgoing. The next three days were filled with different training exercises, various combat methods, and live missions. I had previously expected these missions to be "pre-planned" in that we would be told what to do and would carry out the mission to the best of our ability. Much to my surprise and enjoyment, we were given intel and an objective. After that, it was up to our team to devise a plan and execute. This was an absolute BLAST! Literally and figuratively. I left the Advanced Spec Ops Experience in complete satisfaction. I learned an incredible amount of useful information and had fun the entire time that I was there. I will definitely be making a trip back to Marauders soon. It was a great experience and I cannot wait to do it again! read more

This is the only place you should go to in Arizona for training. We have been regular attendees for over 2 years and a few key things stand out. The first is the programs are laid out for any skill level. While some web images and youtube videos highlight the advanced classes, I've brought with me several novices who have had no firearms experience who found the experience to be incredible and not be overwhelming. The next is the cost. While it is in a remote area and closed in the summer for being outdoors, the cooler weather classes are done at a fraction of the cost of indoor ranges in the city. Since the first visit, I have felt safer working at this facility than any other shooting range. Smaller class sizes and more hands-on work with instructors helps achieve this, in addition to professionalism and experience of the staff. These folks are beyond part time range officers, they are the elite and striving for hitting learning objectives and helping you improve at the pace and level you want. Go on an open training day to try it out, gun show deals are frequent but fair warning you will get hooked. My wife and I bought memberships and now we bring big groups of friends and do private events. If you can round up 12 people it's worth it do a team building day, bachelor party or birthday party. read more

I decide to write a review because I felt they really deserved. So lets start. Met these guys at a gun show a couple months ago. I look pretty young so I expected not to be taken serious, because that's how every booth owner at the gun show, having said that, these guys made me feel welcome and appreciated. So I decided to attend one of their courses. Let me tell you in my years in the military I have never had better training that what I had with these guys. The drills where practice over and over again until every person felt comfortable doing them. They break you into different group and and the instructor work with you to get you proficient. They practice what they preach this is no one of those firing range training, after dry drills they go into live fire. At first I was skeptical but after I understood the reason. Live fire drills are essential to get good at these tactics. And the instructor take every measure to keep you safe and others around you. At the end of the class myself as well as others attending really came together as a team and realize that it takes more than just having a firearm and some shooting range accuracy. The stress added really determines who will fight or go into fly mode. Overall great training looking Forward to train again with them. read more

I've just completed my 4th class with MTT. This weekend they had the first level tactical (combat) rifle course at the Ben Avery Shooting Range in North Phoenix. I usually don't write reviews however, I have been so impressed with this organization I felt I needed to share with others what I think is one of the best kept secrets in the training industry. It is quite easy to drop upward of $1000 to attend a course in self defense and come away wondering if you've gotten your money's worth. MTT delivers a high quality training experience for a small fraction of that amount. Mike Simpson, the Director of Training, is a genuine person who truly cares about people and it shows in the way that he teaches and in the quality of his staff. I was concerned when I arrived at the Fundaments of Tactical Rifle course when I didn't see Mike in attendance. I shouldn't have. His training staff is top notch and know what they are doing. The student to instructor ratio was about 3 to 1 so everyone received close supervision. My wife was struggling and quickly received the ongoing attention of one of the instructors who worked with her throughout the day on difficult parts of the training. I would encourage you to take a look at their website and take a sample course. read more

Tactical Disneyland. Throwing on your battle rattle has never been more fun or more eye opening. Marauders Tactical Training (MTT) offers various single and multi-day programs to challenge your physical fitness and mental toughness. Buckle up and prepare to react to contact, move to cover, shoot from compromised positions, move as a squad, rappel in full kit, breach doors, clear rooms, shoot at night, assault as a team, administer medical care under fire, have force-on-force experiences with real weapons and training munitions, threat identify, address IEDs, plan a mission, enjoy some camaraderie, roll around in the dirt and much more. You will gain the most from your time with MTT if you are squared away with basic weapons handling and marksmanship before you arrive. But, if you need basic training, the staff can accommodate with private events. Safety is a SERIOUS consideration of the MTT staff. Each student is evaluated throughout the safety briefing and warm up activities. Based on the observed skill set and fitness level, the class tempo and allowable activities are customized to ensure a challenging, but safe training event. read more

I had the opportunity to attend a 2 day class(Ground Combat School) at MTT in October. I had been looking forward to attending MTT for some time and was extremely excited. I was not disappointed in the least by my experience, in fact I was blown away by the amount of knowledge and training the team of instructors was able to fit into the course without ever feeling like I was being overwhelmed by it. The instructors are very professional and friendly, and you immediately get a sense that they are doing this because they believe in it and love doing it. Safety is always emphasized, and I never once felt like I or any of my fellow classmates were being asked or allowed to do anything that would endanger anyone on the course. If you are seeking real tactical/firearms(rather than a static firing line/shooting range) training in a safe and professional environment by great instructors at an unbeatable value, get out to MTT. Bring a positive attitude and an open mind and you will learn more than you can imagine, and meet a lot of great people and have a lot of fun while doing it. read more

As an instructor and a person in the firearms industry I give this company 5 stars! I have taken many classes with Mike the main Instructor/Owner and he is VERY serious and thorough about safety and at no point was I ever worried. If you think you know a lot now, you need to take a class at Marauders and I guarantee you will be humbled. Every time I attend I learn something new and they are always changing things up so that you never get bored. YOU CANT BEAT THE PRICE!!! What you get for what you pay is outstanding! Other companies charge 10 fold for doing less than Marauders does. On top of training they provide an adventure like no other. They go all out with (all non lethal) IEDs, RPGs, pyrotechnics, UTM (non-lethal training ammunition), and more.If you are even curious about it just do it and you will not be disappointed. Myself and at least 10 of my buddies are now signed up as members. read more

I first heard of Marauders Tactical Training (MTT) at a Phoenix Gun Show in 2015. After talking to Stephanie and learning more about the training offered, I purchased (2) 1-day passes. My first time out at the MTT facility was exceptional. The Rifle and Pistol Program fundamentals were my first classes; a great foundation for everyone. After 1 day of training, I then purchased a Season Pass and have not looked back!!! I may not make it out every weekend (which I should), but every time out, I am learning new skills/tactics and continue building on them. Mike and his staff instill professionalism and a warrior/protector mindset at all times. You can't go wrong with MTT if you are looking to advance and/or build your skillset. I recommend "Ambush Alley" especially for Concealed Carry Permit holders. This will take your thought process, threat identification, and skills to the next level. read more

I received a Groupon for the Combat Pistol I course for Christmas and had an outstanding experience. The organization is very accommodating, my instructor was very professional, knowledgeable, and a great teacher. In addition, the other participants in my course (despite being much more experienced and knowledgeable about firearms) were very friendly and welcoming to me. The eight hour course flew by and I learned a great deal about using handguns ranging from safety, proper techniques, self defense, and combat/tactical situations. A great experience for anyone who enjoys occasionally shooting targets at the range to someone who would like to be prepared for any situation which may arise. Marauders Tactical Training hooked me after one course. I will definitely be back in the future. read more

I first met mike at the Crossroads of the west gun show, I was looking to advance my skills with a pistol. I had a lot of target shooting experience with a rifle and wanted to develop my pistol skills. What I found here with marauders was so much more! The skills I receive from them every time I attend, not only help me with my firearms proficiency, they help me in my general preparedness for an emergency situation. The staff here puts an emphasis on safety, all attendants are required to attend the safety briefing, regardless of how many times you have attended. Thought the entire day they are watching to ensure that to ensure everything is done safely. If you want to learn to protect yourself, your family, and/or community this is the place to do it, and have some fun while your at it! read more

I came across the MTT booth at a gunshow; and one of their videos caught my eye. My dad, brother and I had been shooting for years and we wanted more than range or desert shooting. I was immediately impressed by Mike's enthusiasm as he described his ground combat school. The concept of testing myself excited me. It took me three tries to finally graduate because it forced me to change my diet and start exercising. MTT has changed many aspects of my life for the better. I am an MTT addict for sure, I've been attending their programs for three years now and still learn something new at every class. I would like to thank Mike and everyone involved with the MTT program for the training I've received. read more

I've been attending training classes with MTT for the past 3 seasons after completing my first intro to combat pistol in 2015. They offer an amazing variety of training options that continue to expand as your skill level improves over time. MTT is the only training organization around with it's own facility that allows for such elements as Rappel, CQC, Vehicle Tactics, and more. You won't find a more amazing value in tactical training anywhere in the country. I come from a completely civilian background without any LEO or Military training, and I encourage anyone that carries and/or owns a firearm for protection to consider MTT. Hope to see you out at the UAC soon!! read more

I took a womans personal defense class on Feb 10th at Vanguard airsoft arena. The class was presented by Marauders Tactical. I would recommend that every woman and teen girl take one.
