They have a beer cave. Lisa is an amazing manager and clearly knows how to hire mostly great customer service people. Nancy, Karen and Brenda are chatty and personable before you step up to the register. Sadly, one of the three musketeers has transferred to another store, but they are friendly, knowledgeable and quick to tell you about benefits and sales for the exclusive Giant Eagle card holders. The best part of this is the kitchen. Drew works most mornings and I had kicked the Starbucks habit but got sucked into coffee drinks again. Drew makes a great latte, its not just an instant, he pulls the shots and they have a flavor or two that Starbucks doesn't Its not starbucks quality but its close and for sure better than a gas station pot of coffee, but if you want that, they are constantly brewing that nd there is a HUGE amount of creamers and things to put in your plain old coffee. Step up to the touch screens and order your made to order sandwiches and breakfast products. Delicious. They used to slice the meats there, but Giant Eagle chose to go to pre-sliced everyrthing and I think the lunchmeat lost something, but the grilled chicken breast and steak are great choices too. I am not a heavy drinker by any means, but they have a big beer cave and a few of the employees are knowledgeable in the beer too. They don't just tell you the cheap one or the most expensive one, I got the kind of boutique help I wanted so I showed up at a party with something good or unique to drink, not garbage. This is a great place to start my morning.

Tonight, and another time about 3 months ago, their fuel pump said my fuel perks redemption was not available. I asked the clerk inside about it and they explained that I need to have made a purchase inside the store in the past to be allowed to redeem my perks. And it needs to be 24 hours after my purchase so I couldn't purchase something right there and then redeem my perks. That didn't work for me since my gas tank was already on fumes. Maybe this is a new policy since GetGo got bought by Circle K, but I don't think it's enforced at all GetGo as I've never bought anything inside the store at the Clintonville and Grandview GetGos and am still able to redeem my perks at those 2 locations. Also, it's silly to force me to buy a drink/snack/whatever at this GetGo since there's a Giant Eagle Market District literally in the same parking lot where the same items are cheaper and earns the same perks! I'll have to avoid this GetGo going forward.

When my turn came I told her I had a problem with her hair and told her hair - even in braids were swinging over the ice cream and she needed to be wearing a hair net. It made me sick. My friend and I left the store and went elsewhere for ice cream. Where is he manager to tell this gal what do do with her hair and advise her on hygine. Who wants hair in their ice cream.

The other advantage is that the store is very conveniently located between Morse Rd and Rt 161 on North Hamilton Rd right in front of the Meijer Department Store. They just remodeled the interior earlier this year. It looks brand spankin' new now. I like that. There's nothing better than a clean store. They have all of the usual products available, so you won't be disappointed when you're making that midnight run for snacks or beverages when everyplace else is close or inconveniently located too far off the road for you to bother venturing. The only thing that Meijer needs to implement is a point system like Kroger and Giant Eagle. They have to be losing business without it. But, they still don't have customer discount cards yet. I guess that can be a good thing. They don't have to artificially raise their gas prices to provide a so-called "discount" with points collected from food shopping. As long as they are in the ballpark price-wise, who's complaining, right?

HOWEVER, I do NOT appreciate the fact that they don't allow customers to use the restroom. I have been with my young niece and she really had to use it and they wouldn't let her. Another time, I had to use it as well and was not allowed. They say its because people do drugs in there. There is no reason all customers should be penalized because of the mental illness/addiction of our neighbors. Another problem area for me is the manner in which the fountain machine is kept. Most of the time it is dirty.

I can't say enough about the attendant here. He was not only polite, but concerned as well, and reminded me of things to do that I otherwise would have forgotten. When the cops let the guy who caused the accident go without a ticket, he commiserated with me on my likely expenses. I can honestly say he was more helpful than the cops, and I cannot appreciate it enough.
