There are plenty of pumps and I've never found myself waiting for one, even when there is a storm in the gulf. But RaceTrac is more than just gas. If you need snacks for the road stopping here just makes sense. They have hot and cold sandwiches, boiled eggs, string cheese, hot sausage links with buns and all the condiments you want, chili, nachos...you get it. You see it, you like it, you want it, they got it. The drink options here are endless as well. In addition to great fountain drinks with the best ice choices they carry just about every drink you might want. I found Diet Barqs here in a 16 oz bottle and I never see that anywhere. Are you a Froyo lover? Then you're in for a treat with Swirl World. Not only is it delicious, they have all the toppings you'll see in a place that only does Froyo. New RaceTrac stores seem to be popping up all over the place and I'm not complaining about that.

The provide stellar service from the counter and are super efficient when there are lines. * The station itself and the convenience store is spotless. The handles are clean; they feel practically new. And what else is clean? The bathroom. Kudos on the latter. * The prices: no one goes to any gas station without first looking at the prices and this particular station the numbers are always lower then most. I'm not saying it's the best deal in town but I am saying it's probably cheaper than the other nearby stations.

However, I was going to Donaldsonville and stopped at the Marathon station for fuel, and then the unusual happened. My traveling partner went inside and struck up a conversation with the clerk while paying for the gas. Shortly after, I went inside to use the clean facilities. As I exited to an exclamation about how the clerk knew my family and how the cook (Lebanese by way of New York) was trying to sell her food. I went over to the cook and he promptly offered me some boiled shrimp. About this time I started to believe that some of those outer limit episodes that I watched 55 to 60 years ago might have some validity. The shrimp was great, Better yet he had some fried shrimp which literally knocked my socks off. The taste was fantastic. I purchased some of the proffered food and wondered over to the clerk. She had called her father, when she found out our last name. Apparently they had known my family from decades earlier when he had taken care of my aunt's lawn. Totally unreal.

I have reviewed a number of C-stores in my time as a Yelper and there ain't really any new ground to plow in this review as they have it all like other big C-stores from soup to nuts, chips to candy, beer to water and everything in between along with the usual suspects from the automotive category such as oil, brake fluid, anti-freeze etc... But getting in and out is a breeze as you have a traffic light controlling entrance and exit from this store and the parking lot is well lit and of a nice large size for any needed maneuvering... If you need to stop in here you won't be disappointed in what they offer, I'm pretty sure...
