After all, you get gas when you need it or if you're stopping for food or to use the bathroom or whatever and not based on what some dude driving from Chicago to Toronto has to say about a random Shell station. But I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to this place. It looks like a nice enough service station but I was only there for a minute. The reason I'm going out of my way to recommend it is that they actually took nineteen (!!) Sacagawea dollars off my hands when I went to pay for gas that I wouldn't have been able to get rid of otherwise, seeing as I was on my way back to Canada. Seriously. If that's not a minor miracle, I don't know what is. As an aside, don't ask what I was doing with nineteen Sacagawea dollars. Needless to say, I'm a bit of an idiot. Thank you for saving me, random Shell station!

The gas pumps are a little scary if you're using your credit card. This place had really clean restrooms and pretty friendly staff. The parking lot is large with plenty of space, making it easy to maneuver no matter what you're driving. Inside, the store has a wide range of travel essentials, snacks, drinks, and must-have supplies for the road. There are also plenty of fast-food options available, which makes grabbing a quick meal simple without needing to leave the area. The restaurant and hot food sections looked decent, though they were definitely feeling the rush when I visited. Restrooms were available, but they could've used more attention. They were usable, just not as clean as a busy travel center should keep them. Checkout moved fairly quickly, and the staff kept things flowing even with a steady line. The fuel pumps were clean, well-lit, and easy to access, which made refueling straightforward. Prices were standard for a TA, nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, it's a dependable stop for fuel, food, and a quick break. It's not the cleanest or most polished TA I've seen, but it gets the job done when you're on the road. If you download the Pilot app, you can find some nice deals, including 10 cents per gallon discount and other goodies. The washrooms here are immaculate! They have a Subway and a McDonalds and Pilot has some hot food offerings near the register (pizza, chicken, potato wedges, sides, etc). Pilot has a deal where you can get two slices of pizza and a 20oz. Pepsi for $8. Not too bad when two people need a snack and one of them prefers coffee over soda. I also like that they have a designated area for your furry friends to go potty.
