In my…read moreopinion, if you pass this stop up heading back to Illinois, your options are going to get less and less appealing (trust me, you don't want to stop anywhere near Gary). If you download the Pilot app, you can find some nice deals, including 10 cents per gallon discount and other goodies. The washrooms here are immaculate! They have a Subway and a McDonalds and Pilot has some hot food offerings near the register (pizza, chicken, potato wedges, sides, etc). Pilot has a deal where you can get two slices of pizza and a 20oz. Pepsi for $8. Not too bad when two people need a snack and one of them prefers coffee over soda. I also like that they have a designated area for your furry friends to go potty.

I usually park in the back of the lot so I don't have the annoyance of engines and APUs running all night. So, lazy as I am 1st thing in the morning, I decided to drive my rig up to the store, wash up a bit, get my drink and depart. All went well until I turned the corner and found all of the lights out for the building and pumps. This is never a good sign. I parked near the building and got out to make sure this wasn't some sort of *hidden camera* prank. Sure enough, there was a sign posted stating the revised hours of operation. Since I didn't have spare time, I departed Great place, great people.

The parking lot is large with plenty of space, making it easy to maneuver no matter what you're driving. Inside, the store has a wide range of travel essentials, snacks, drinks, and must-have supplies for the road. There are also plenty of fast-food options available, which makes grabbing a quick meal simple without needing to leave the area. The restaurant and hot food sections looked decent, though they were definitely feeling the rush when I visited. Restrooms were available, but they could've used more attention. They were usable, just not as clean as a busy travel center should keep them. Checkout moved fairly quickly, and the staff kept things flowing even with a steady line. The fuel pumps were clean, well-lit, and easy to access, which made refueling straightforward. Prices were standard for a TA, nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, it's a dependable stop for fuel, food, and a quick break. It's not the cleanest or most polished TA I've seen, but it gets the job done when you're on the road.
