The portion of milk per group on the ticket is deceiving as many other reviews state. Hence losing 1 star. The second part is: you get to go in a pen with the donkey, lama, and a bunch of adult goats. They have tree stumps that you can sit on and have the goats climb on you to eat all the snacks. The best part is the whole experience that makes this way different then any other goat experience is that the goats and you have no fence no barrier and you are right there. And there are bunnies you can sit and pet but the goats are way better. And to add to other reviews, yes it is their personal house and farm but the experience can not be beat anywhere else.

This made my year! I had a blast. Not sure how much yoga I got done because I was soooo focused on the friendly goats. My favs were Elsie and Fudge. Then I was talking to Susan, one of the owners, about flowers for my daughter's wedding - she was so sweet, she let me cut a bunch from her own garden and didn't even charge me! The sessions involve going around to different stations based on ages of the goats. They also invite local artisans and food vendors - we got a beautiful wooden cheese board. NOTE: Currently, the sessions are on pause due to COVID19, but I just want to give a shout out to the amazing work they put into this farm, caring for their goats, and their cheese making! As of March 2020, they are doing pre-order and pick ups for their cheeses - be sure to look at their websites for locations to grab this delicious local cheese and farm!

The farm is set in a beautiful hilly area with trees and rolling meadows. There are goats, chickens, peacocks, and the friendliest shaggy dogs you will ever meet. Wear boots or sneakers that you can lose to mud, and dress in layers. There is a very clean port o potty and a sink hooked to a (very cold!) well, so you can wash your hands. You will leave covered in hoof prints, fur, and animal slobber. I cannot speak to the locavore dinners held at the farm, but I would love to attend one. The owner is well travelled and versed on international cuisines, and she speaks with great fondness of other local producers. The farm's cheeses are incredible. My personal favorite is their black truffle chèvre. They also make delicious logs with herbes de Provence and pimento cheese. Their aged goat Parmesan is amazing. The cheeses are not strongly flavored of "goatiness"--I understand that is achieved by keeping male goats away from milk-producing females. All the cheese is delicately flavored, and the hot chocolate created for one of the snuggling days that I attended was decadent and divine. (I usually shy away from non-savory goat dairy products because of strong goaty flavors.) I highly recommend Caromont Farms. Be aware that there is virtually no cell reception at the farm.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.
