Cox Farms has the most fun & engaging fall festival in the area. The hay ride is second to none - great drivers, amusing side quests and route. There are endless attractions to keep the kids and adults entertained. The slides, the pumpkin smash, the play areas, the goats... if this is your vibe, you'll have an a great time. Their food selection is also good and there are numerous signs letting you know where to go for whatever specific refreshments you're looking for. Speaking of - the free apple cider is sooo good. Don't be that person filling up your water bottle at the cider station, though!

Cox Farms is a wonderland of the Fall season! Whether it's pumpkin spice, actual pumpkins, hot apple cider & apple cider donuts, and other Fall themed eatery & drinks, they have just about everything you could think of. They also have really fun activities not only kids/ families can enjoy, but also adults friends. We did the hay ride, corn maze, and the big slide. We definitely had a great time & felt like big kids! I highly recommend people of all ages going to Cox Farms during their annual Fall Festival. The tickets are pretty affordable and a lot is included with the tickets. If you live in the DC area, be prepared to travel a "long distance". It's an hour from me and I live in DC.

Great family-friendly harvest festival, perfect for kids - you can easily spend 3+ hours. There's so much to do! There's lots of thrilling-seeking fast slides, a galore of free apple cider, a fun forest walk, an interactive hay ride, and you get to pick out a free pumpkin at the end. Our toddler loved it! Opening weekend was surprisingly not crowded and not Peak prices. Weekends in October especially in the afternoons are mayhem with long lines (20 min+ per slide/hayride) while morning weekdays are packed as well with school field trips. I've had to wait in long lines both during the weekends/weekdays in Oct. Mornings in Sept is the way to go! There are about a dozen slides near the front with a few large slides in the back - Castle, Dino, and Treetop. Adults can go down most of the slides, there's a mix of open slides and enclosed, tunnel slides. There's no height, age, or parental restriction. There was a blue dino wavy slide that looked scary, but my fearless toddler conquered it! The new green Safari slide at the front is the tallest slide and very fast! The slides are pretty safe and there are staff members helping kids getting on all of the slides. T The hayride was hands-down my favorite part! The ride was over 20 min with new attractions and stations this year. It's impressively interactive with cowboys on friendly horses, aliens, superwoman, trolls, and cool sculptures. We went through water multiple times! Not a dull moment. Can't imagine how much the haunted hay ride would be at night - next time! Don't miss out on the forest walk - there are lots of cool sculptures and little rooms to explore. It takes about 20 min to walk through and the last entry is 1/2 hour before closing. There were barrels of complementary apple cider and bushels of apples. If you go earlier in the season in Sept, you'll be able to safely avoid the bees and drink cider to your heart's content. The farm provides free little cups and shuns bottles or containers. If you wait until Oct, bees swarm around the barrels and just couldn't get past them! The cider ran out early around 3:30pm. The warm fluffy cider donuts were divine! So good that one wasn't satisfying enough and went back for another one! In addition to the slides, there are other smaller attractions like pirate ships, hay tunnels, bubble machine (my daughter loved it!), wooden pictures frames where you stick your face in the hole, and petting zoo (big mama pig and cute little piglets). The petting zoo isn't a particular section and the fenced animals are scattered throughout the farm (chickens, cows, goats, sheep, and pigs). My daughter and son had a blast playing in the wooden train. Lots of great photo ops! As you exit, you get to pick a free pumpkin to take home (1 pumpkin/ticket) from a galore of different colors and sizes (except for the super big ones!). I was quite satisfied with my cut little pumpkin. On your way out, there's a small market. The local cider is delicious and bought a 1/2 gallon of cider (only $6.50), which pairs well with Bourbon! You can get pies, honey, different types of butter spreads. We usually spend 2-3 hours and are able to make it through most of the slides, hay ride, and attractions. While we could easily spend another hour thoroughly covering the rest of the park, the rosy cheeks on my kids face show utter exhaustion. Our family of 4 had a blast - $100 well spent on tickets. Looking forward to coming back next year on opening weekend, bright and early!

Took the kids out last Thursday and it was giving fall vibes all the way through! From feeding the goats to the forest maze, hayride, and those big slides (the new one you can see from the road is fire) we had a blast. Their apple cider and doughnuts never miss, and I love that the concession prices don't feel like highway robbery. It's one of our favorite fall traditions that will continue every year, same fun, same smiles

I take my kids almost every year. We moved for a few years but are back to partake again! My oldest kids have the best memories here.

My family and I have been coming to Cox farms for 15+ years, and each year it's gotten better! After moving back here we decided to go last weekend, and with our baby sister this time. There were new snack stands, more food available, restrooms and extensive parking. As well as new attractions, like slides and play areas. Ive been coming here since they had strawberries to pick, and it was a tiny farm area! This has grown to be an amazing fall staple for the entire NOVA area. Don't leave without trying some cider, or cider donuts!

Visited Cox Farms this weekend, but just for the pumpkin patch. We didn't really have time to do the full fall festival, but maybe next year. The staff was really friendly and helpful and there were lots and lots of pumpkins to choose from. We also picked up a half gallon of cider which we look forward to trying. The donuts seem kind of pricey at $18 a dozen but maybe that's just me lol Definitely lots of things to do for little ones !

Slush Apple Cider!

Despite living in NOVA for 20+ years I am STILL not entirely sure what Cox Farms is. And, even after spending a full day, I'm not sure. But I am sure that it is an incredibly fun family outing. My kids are older (2 college and 1 high school) but we throughly enjoyed our day spent. Our favorite things were the roasted almonds and slush apple cider. The apple cider was genuinely life changing. My daughter still talks about it, 7 months later! We loved the concept of foam henge!

I was really pleasantly surprised by my visit here. I was here for a company event but it was also public at the time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food (think carnival style food) like mac and cheese was very good. The entertainment like the hay ride was also very fun! At first I thought the price tag was a little too much but you get what you pay for and more. During the fall, we got to take a pumpkin home. It was an amazing family friendly experience. Parking and access were super easy as well.

Was a little nervous at first because I was bringing my teenager here to enjoy the day but I wasn't sure if it would be too childish for his liking, but I was wrong he loved it! From the slides, the pumpkin spice lattes, apple cider donuts, corn mazes and the pumpkins to carve at home we really enjoyed ourselves. Great place for the family of all ages!

Appreciated the kid friendly changing stations

The fall festival seems to be what they are most known for but the holiday market during the winter is also fun to visit. Parking is free and overall it wasn't as busy or overwhelming crowd wise as the fall festival. We didn't get a Christmas tree this year but we saw how there was an organized process for them to help tie trees to the tops of cars if you select one. Some of the employees were nice enough to offer to take pictures of our family. There were an abundance of fun photo opportunities with a quirky sense of humor in some instances. Plenty of local gifts to buy as stocking stuffers. The sparkling cider and burgundy (grape juice) were good as well as the cider donuts.

I have came to cox farms since i was 2 years old with my family as a tradition every single fall. There is so much i love about cox farms. From the fresh Kettle corn and Apple cider donuts to the classic Hayride. Throughout the years it has become a very popular spot and gone up in price but i think it's worth it to support them! If you do end up checking this wonderful family fall activity make sure you bring water and comfortable shoes !

Goat petting zoo

Cox Farms is the best!!! Even though it is very catered to kids, my boyfriend and I still come every year. In fact, this year we brought a group of our mid-20's friends to enjoy it with us! Best parts: goat petting zoo (you might get dirty from goats jumping up on you), the hayride (just trust me), the giant slide (yes, the one with the GIANT line), and the school-cafeteria-style cheeseburgers are surprisingly delicious! To note: they have fun food options, but it's limited. I brought some vegetarian friends and their main option was a salad. Also, the pretzel stand does not offer cheese to dip your pretzel in, as of fall 2023. Hoping that changes!!!

Poor customer service and they refuse to make glitches in their check out system right. Nice place and amenities but poor employees.

Alpacas, a member of the camelid family, are smaller and nicer than llamas, a relative. Mainly, they don't spit, at least not intentionally. We found these alpacas to be sweet, soft and silly. It was a little difficult to find the farm. The entrance is not clearly marked and we made at least two wrong forays onto adjacent properties before finding the farm. Once there we were welcomed by Heather, one of the owners, who gave us a brief rundown before introducing us to some of their goats, sheep, turkeys, donkey. She led us to the paddocks where the alpacas were, giving us instructions on how to approach them, how to feed them, how to pet them. Most had been recently shorn and Heather provided us with feed and the alpacas eagerly ate from our outstretched palms. They were soft and plush, the females more delicate eaters and the males (separated in a different area) were gobblers. These are animals, not pets, so while they are gentle, they do have wills of their own. It was a warm day and the alpacas enjoyed a spray from the hose. It was funny to see how excited they were to feed (reminds me of my dogs) and they ran after Heather when she got the food. Afterwards, we went to the barn where Heather, a fiber artist, demonstrated how the alpaca fur can be mixed with other fibers, how the wool is felted, and how it can be spun into yarn. There are textiles, yarn, garments for sale. Reservations are required. Sign up for the first time slot. Our tour ran over by 30 minutes and the next group had to wait. It is a picturesque drive to the farm but keep in mind that it turns into a two lane road through country lanes. We had left plenty of time for the drive but with our misdirected turnarounds and some road construction we ended up cutting it close.

We love this alpaca farm! The tour was personal and we learned so much. You can feed and pet the…read morealpacas. Perfect attraction to visit after Sugarloaf Mountain. This farm grows a variety of lavender plants and offers products at their farm store at an affordable rate. The owners are incredibly friendly. The owners took the time to describe fun facts about the farm and show us around the lavender fields. This farm offers fun activities for all ages ranging from a labyrinth, bamboo forest, etc. I purchased lavender oil, which smells heavenly and is completely pure. We visited during the early season for the lavender, so we didn't get to see as many lavender plantss in full bloom. However, there were some lavender plants that were bursting with vibrant color. The only drawback is that with flowering plants, bees are around. Thankfully in this farm the bees are more interested in the lavender plants than the visitors. As long as you leave them alone, you won't be bothered. Just beware of the gnats. Can't escape them ;)
