The staff, the classrooms, the play areas, the special art projects, learning about other cultures around the world and observing their holidays, the specialty classes for music, yoga, soccer, dance...it was all incredible. INCREDIBLE! This place was heaven for our son! He absolutely loved it! And there is no guessing what's going on - they text you photos of all the fun activities and happenings daily. The Father's Day card they had the kids make is one of my favorite things of all time. It's right next to the series of self portraits they all did for an art project. I can't say enough good things about THT. Go visit the space for yourself! I cannot imagine our lives without this special place that helped our little man's creativity and personality blossom. It was such a special chapter of our lives. THANK YOU THT!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

We were so fortunate that our almost five-year-old got to spend his final year before kindergarten at this special school. The amount of care and creativity that goes into each child and each daily activity is astounding! Our child was seen and valued for all components of his personality and we saw the work of his teachers as the full extension of what we value most at home. We are so thrilled that our THT relationship will continue with our two younger children in future years. So much love to all of the THT family! We are so grateful.

He absolutely thrived in the welcoming and nurturing environment that Ms Jackie has created and he was so well prepared for this transition. Our younger son also started at 18 months and it's been wonderful to see him growing and thriving just like his big brother. I know he'll be so prepared for TK when the time comes!  A few special things that stand out to me: (1) Ms. Jackie truly takes the time to get to know each kid and adapts her curriculum (and her menu!) to highlight their interests. (2) The small size of the school makes a difference. It's such a gentle transition. (3) It's nurturing while also encouraging independence. Ms. Jackie is great at gently pushing us to see how capable our child really is -- even when it's tempting to just put their shoes on for them because it's faster! We feel so lucky to have found such a supportive preschool and would highly recommend it to other families.

Any concerns we had with our daughter at home were also noticed by Ms Jackie and her fellow teachers, and they helped us get our daughter through the concerns. I personally was not looking forward to potty training. Ms Jackie took that anxiety away and essentially did the potty training for us while showing so much patience and love with our little one (and us parents too) Our daughter graduated from LHT (yes, there is a graduation ceremony) and was completely ready for TK, knowing how to act in a classroom setting, and being further along in her education than most of her peers. There was also a strong community among the families attending here which helped us as well.

The…read moreteachers were truly amazing - warm, thoughtful, attentive, and clearly invested in every child's growth. Our kids became so independent and capable during their time at MACC, while still getting to be silly, have fun, and genuinely love going to school. They came home excited about all the things they had learned, and it was clear they felt safe, supported, and happy there. We also appreciated the care the teachers took in every detail. You could really tell how much they cared about the kids. We love our children's new school, but we still miss MACC and its wonderful teachers. We have enthusiastically recommended MACC to other families.

I knew MACC was special from the moment our virtual tour started. Ms. Ruhi showed us not only the school but exemplified specific activities our child would do and clearly explained what the curriculum would be. And everything she said and showed us was on point. Now, with a MACC graduate, and another still attending, I can completely and confidently attest to the amazing curriculum, staff, and community at MACC. More personally, we have gotten to know each of our children's teachers very well. We receive daily reports and touch base at pickup and drop off. It is very personal and the teachers genuinely care about and love their students. Even teachers our children used to have or never had are always eager to say hello to our children and greet them with a hug. Our children know everyone there and have always felt comfortable with them. Ms. Alie was our oldest child's first teacher and she always greeted us and our child with the most love and concern and always shared specific examples of our child's days from work to funny things they said, among other things. Ms. Gaby was our child's most recent teacher and between her and Ms. Melody, the pre-k/TK equivalent curriculum was unreal. Our oldest and their classmates learned SO much but also created some of the coolest art projects. The class was also extremely close and tight knit and you could tell they loved their teachers and each other and vice versa. Our younger child had Ms. Sheuly this year who also provided regular feedback to us at pickup and dropoff and would walk through our child's weekly worksheets so we could reinforce at home. Even though our oldest child didn't have Ms. Sheuly, the curriculum was just the same as was the quality of teaching and perhaps more importantly, the care and concern for our child. On top of all of this, the parent community is wonderful and we have made some very close friends through the years. Anytime a local parent asks about preschool options, I always recommend MACC for its community, curriculum, and supporting, talented and caring staff/teachers. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the speedy communication from Ms. MaryCarmen and Ms. Michelle and the love and support of the co-teachers in all classrooms. My only complaint is MACC doesn't go through high school!

I researched and toured countless preschools before selecting CCM. Our kid did the dual which was the best decision ever. My husband speaks Spanish (but doesn't at home) and I know very rudimentary Korean. Our daughter at the agent of 2 years 3 months picked up both languages quickly. Hearing multiple languages was normalized at her young age. She has loved learning the language & experiencing both Latin & Chinese traditions. My older kids were devastated to leave. The teachers and staff are beyond exceptional, and they treat the kids with so much love and kindness. They also have a robust activities/enrichment program, including soccer, tennis, and dance. Most importantly, my kids have come out of the program fluent in 2 foreign languages! There's really no other preschool like it on the Westside. My only note is I wish CCM would extend through elementary school! :)

I have known many families who have sent their children through the program beginning in primary (around 3-years-old) and ending in "Level 8" (8thgrade). So many of them raved about it that I chose to send my daughter there and have been thrilled with the school, faculty, administrators and other parents. The mentor program, where older students are assigned younger students to "mentor", is simply exceptional. In primary, my child had a Level 8 "big buddy" who worked with her several times during the year. Due to this interaction she is excited, rather than nervous, to see the big middle school kids in the halls. In Level 3 each student is assigned a Level 6 mentor and they continue with this same mentor until they themselves reach Level 6 and become a mentor to a Level 3 student. Talk about creating a sense of community!! This helps the children foster their leadership skills in a safe and nurturing environment. I am thrilled that we have so many exciting years ahead of us at Turning Point.

Some pros and cons: Pros: - really good space (classroom, backyard and bathrooms), it's clean, - Cindy and aunties are caring and responsive, - lots of fun extra curricular activities (kidchella, movie nights, pj days, water day, bouncing houses and much more), - weekly agenda is also well designed, besides the regular topics (ABC's, colors, numbers, etc... they also discuss about global warming, endangered animals, different cultures). - they use Bloomz to communicate with parents, post pictures and the weekly agenda, - the graduation day was remarkable (songs, videos, treats, photo book, clothes, *no extra cost*), - they are rock stars on their party/event decorations I love all details. Cons: - could improve on communication related to big announcements. Sometimes it's not totally clear the guidelines, - parking is limited on Duquesne, - they could have once per quarter a 1x1 feedback meeting with parents about their child development and behavior. My daughter is ready for kindergarten, and my baby boy will definitely go to VTP.

I wasn't going to write this review, but a recent incident with our daughter reminded me of the…read moredifference in how certain things *should* be handled. My wife and I loved this school (especially its school for toddlers on Clarington) until they started having issues with the Directors (the first one - who was very lovely - had a husband who was running a business out of their home above the school and defrauded people online, claiming to be a computer repair service). Then they brought in someone named Monica (who had no school experience per se but did come from a children's hospital) who lasted two months, tops. We were told she left for familial reasons. Then Kim arrived. Our then 3-year-old daughter was having issues with a classmate teasing her for having two moms. I was a parent volunteer there for many months, so I actually did witness the child making fun of her for having two moms, and the teachers told me about other incidents as well. After the third time, my wife and I asked Kim to intervene. She told us that while she would finally talk to the child's parents, it was *our* daughter who would need to "toughen up" (that is a direct quote) because Kindergarten was next and apparently (based on her comment), she thinks they tolerate bullying and teasing in Kindergarten. In case you were wondering, no actual good school (or teachers) will tolerate this, let alone turn around and say that the child being harassed should "toughen up." Our daughter had a single incident recently at her elementary school, and the teacher immediately talked to that student and then also talked to the parent--all without us having to even ask. And, she's loathe to take responsibility, especially for a Director with a young staff. One time Kim oversaw a Father's Day project with our daughter where they made her pose with a "Happy Father's Day. I love you Dad" sign to put in a card they had her make for her non-existent father. When I came to pick my daughter up that day, Kim brought me into the office to show me the card, throwing the teacher under the bus for it, instead of taking responsibility as the school Director, who should be approving and overseeing projects. Additionally, I would often see Kim leave on shopping trips for long stretches of time or often come in late, leaving the school overworked and understaffed. We were also surprised by the lack of diversity in the student body. Perhaps that's because when it came to enrollment, Kim was more excited about what the parents did for a living. There was one family she couldn't wait to have start because she told me the father worked at an organic snack company. She told me she was quite excited for all the free snacks she assumed they would be getting. We left Village Tree to go to Treehouse on Motor. That Director has far more experience and was always present and involved in every single aspect of that school. Additionally, on our child's very first day, her teacher asked me what name I go by (ie Mommy, Mama, etc.) because they had been trained in dealing with diverse families. Our daughter was very happy there!
