Chicken salad is awesome and so is the coleslaw. Surface is super quick. Great value for all the food we got.

This place has some amazing deli sandwiches. I am from California and was very excited to try this place and it was everything I was hoping for. I loved how friendly they where as soon as we walked in. Next time I come back to visit I will def come here. I highly recommend this place.

    Kleiber‘s BLT!

My favorite old-school deli on Long Island, Kleiber's is a real vintage treasure tucked away on an Islip residential street. The BLT is serious business.

You see, I can be fair, even when I feel something wasn't right. I was looking for a friend's house when I found "Kleiber's Delicatessen." It's supposedly a historical location so I felt, legendary food must be served there. I don't know how I came to that conclusion, but it was a excuse to eat nevertheless. I pulled up to the curb and gingerly made my approach because the weather was great. Inside was nothing special, just your normal prototypical deli. The menu was pretty standard as well. I asked the gentleman if they accepted debit and he said "Yes! But there's a seven dollar minimum." That to me is the biggest turnoff. You make paying customers have to buy more than they want because you apply a minimum. Let's call this what it really is, it's a business not wanting to lose money on swipe charges so they make sure you spend if you're going to use your card. Back to the review. I asked for a turkey sandwich with cheddar and tomatoes. I asked for bacon and he told me he would have to charge two dollars extra for the bacon. I thought to myself, that doesn't make sense, there are items on the menu with bacon that cost less. I should have ordered a turkey BLT and asked for cheddar to save money. I didn't want to be difficult so I just ran with it. My drink plus meal came out to twelve plus dollars. The price wasn't that bad, but doesn't mean I like to waste money. Once I got my food I went to my car to eat. I must say, the sandwich was delicious. It was thick with turkey and bacon. The roll was soft and fresh, and he used just enough mayo. So I wasn't completely mad regarding the two dollar bacon. See like i said, fair, I gave them four stars instead of the three I believed it deserved at the time. But next time I go, and there will be a next time, I will order of the menu board and just ask for cheese.

Best Chicken Cutlet hero I've ever had!

I wish I ate bell peppers, because a lot of their dishes have them. So even on a limited selection for me, they always have Plenty of fresh variety. If you are lucky enough to be there when the fried, butterfly shrimp tray comes out, be prepared for a "Wall Street like" experience to erupt! Lol. I have had amazing Yucca, beef patties, fried shrimp, pulled chicken and 12 things I can't pronounce! They don't have signage and if you speak Spanish you can order in Spanish also. Best hot food you can buy and you get charged by the container load, so you get nice portions for the money. If they were going to fix anything, they would have better signage that explains what everything is. But it gives it a mystery appeal I guess that makes it desirable. Definitely eat here for the ultimate bodega hot food experience.

They offer a large plate for $14.99 and a small starting at $9, which comes with rice, beans, and a choice of meat. There are also fried empanadas and a cold salad section available. I ordered arroz con gandules, beans, and half of a small roasted chicken. The food wasn't as hot as I expected for items sitting on the line. Flavor-wise, it was decent but nothing that stood out. Pricing felt a little high--my large meal and a Coke came out to just under $19 with tax. I'd probably stop by again if I was in a rush and craving Spanish food, but overall it was a lackluster experience.

Great customer service. The food is delish. I usually get the breakfast, but everything I order even the home made muffins are good. Prices are very reasonable. The only issue is the parking lot. Hard to find parking during the day and evening. This deli is located in a little strip on Bayshore Rd with a bar ,Carvel, pizza shop and a lotto store. Great deli for breakfast sandwiches and sub sandwiches. Great for catering as well.
