Let me preface this review by stating that I was terrified at the thought of going to a…read morechiropractor and have someone manipulate my spine. However, my spinal health took a recent turn for the worse and I was even less enthusiastic about going to an orthopedist and having them tell me that surgery was my only option. My woes began back in October when I was involved in a hit and run accident while riding my motorcycle. Although I was lucky to be alive and did not suffer life threatening injuries, I "tweaked" a lot of body parts, including my back. Things got a little better but I recently spent an entire day pulling up cement forms from a recent home improvement project. I could feel my back was stiff but I attributed it to a hard days work. However, when I woke up the next morning, I could not even put on my own socks due to the immense pain in my back. At the recommendation of a coworker (thanks Richard), I immediately called Dr. Ryan Russo at the Lakeview Regional Chiropractic Clinic in Lakeview. Even though it was a Friday and he was going out of town that evening, he agreed to see me. On my first visit, we discussed my issues, he took some x-rays and discussed some treatment options. He did not adjust me on my first visit, as he needed to see the x-rays first to make a proper diagnosis. I iced up that weekend as per his instructions and came back on Monday to begin my treatments. It was difficult for me to relax for my first adjustment, but Dr. Russo told me everything he was going to do, prior to him doing it so that there would be no surprises. I have been going for approximately three weeks now and have made significant strides towards getting back to my old self. Dr. Russo is a "younger" chiropractor (30something) and is interested in treating the cause of back problems and not just "chasing pain". His mission, as qutoed on his website, is "To restore and maintain health through chiropractic care, allowing patients to live their lives to the fullest". He also states on his website that "We're committed to putting your health first by finding the cause of your problem rather than chasing the symptom". I am a firm believer in him and his clinic, and he practices what he preaches about good health, which is also a big part of good chiropractic health. I have learned a lot from him about anti-inflammatory supplements and foods that will help improve my spinal health. He doesn't "push" these supplements on his customers, and actually does not even sell them, so they is no pressure to buy anything. Simply put, he is honestly interested in improving his patients' health in every way possible. If you suffer from any type of back pain and live in the Lakeview area, I implore you not to put it off and give Dr. Russo a call. Or, you can check out his website at http://nolachiropractor.com/ Stay healthy!

I had to go to Dr. Ky when I was involved in a car accident and had to go to a chiropractor for my…read moreneck, shoulder and back problems. The neck pain was so bad, I couldn't even move it. And you really don't notice how much you use your neck until you can't anymore. Despite the treatment at the other chiropractor, I wasn't getting any better. So I asked around for another chiropractor. Dr. Ky was mentioned by several people. They also said there was an acupuncturist and Chinese medicine specialist on staff. Since I resonate with holistic approaches, I went to check them out. And now, I'm beginning to think of my accident as a blessing in disguise. Because without it, I never would have found out about Dr. Ky, his amazing staff and wonderful family. Turns out his daughter does acupuncture and his son-in-law is their herbalist. So in addition to Dr. Ky's gentle and non-invasive treatments, you're actually able to get a solution to your pain- not just pain management in the form of muscle relaxers! Treatments are usually 15 mins on a rolling table followed by 60-75 mins of body manipulation to allow your energy to flow and your body to naturally heal itself. Basically Dr. Ky facilitates the optimal alignment and best practices to truly love your body. He told me about symptoms I didn't even realize were spinal related! As well as naturally alleviating my pain. So from arriving there with an 8 for my neck/shoulder pain and a 6 for my back pain to now a 3/4 in a short couple of months! I now have almost full range of motion of my neck. There's much more I can say, but this review is already a novel. I'll just end it with Dr. Ky is literally a miracle worker and his office has officially become one of my happy places. Everyone leaves with a relieved smile on their faces!

Dr. Tekippe gives very effective adjustments…read more I do feel a little claustrophobic in his office though - it is small. And there are always tons of people there, whether in the wait room or exercise room. Most wear masks, but the staff does not make patients put them on if they aren't wearing them (which makes me uncomfortable, especially in a small space). Also, the staff was charging me $20 per visit, even though I knew my insurance paid in full (and were telling me that was my insurance copay). When I asked the doctor for a refund, he informed me that $20 is for the "extras" that my insurance doesn't cover - so if you use the roller table, stim, heat/ice packs, or the exercises/stretches he shows you at the end of your visit. I will go back for adjustments only, it's not worth it to me to pay $20 a visit to learn new stretches - I never use the roller table, stim, or heat/ice packs). I'm guessing this extra charge also only applies depending on your insurance. It's worth a visit to try him out and see if his adjustments work for you.
