Forced to update last year's review after HEALTH VIOLATION: server filling ketchup bottles, wiping bottles, licking her fingers, repeating. BEYOND DISGUSTING! Excluding breakfast, food is mediocre, at best: very disappointing lunches, dinners & ghastly wine. Gravy is pure onion powder. Server reeks heavily of cigarettes. Owner doesn't interact by greeting patrons, new or recognized, inquire as to satisfaction of meal or if another alcoholic drink is desired *while meal still being eaten* & doesn't exchange any pleasantries (have a good day, thanks for coming). No welcome, no interaction, no gratitude, no interest. HEALTH VIOLATION & NO WIFI mean NO GO. read more

Came here for lunch today with my wife and granddaughters. What a disappointment !! Waited 40 minutes for our orders of kids cheeseburger and fries, burger was burned and a a 1/2 slice of cold processed cheese resting on top, bun was 3 times the size of the 3 oz burger. Adult cheeseburger with fries and the burger was burned. Grilled cheese sandwich and fries were okay. I ordered a beef kimchi taco and was served a chicken taco because they were out of beef.. Wtf you think they could tell you that they were out of something? Had to hunt for the chicken in the taco. I also ordered the Poutine which was okay. Waitress only came back to the table when she saw we weren't eating anymore. This was prime lunchtime and the place was only 1/3 full. Never again !!!!!!! Waitress did comp the stuff we didn't eat but that is not the point. The place is not very clean either. If I could give it a negative rating I would!!!! read more

Came in today at 3pm for a late lunch. It was quite busy surprisingly! Had the Roast Beef Dip sandwich while my brother had the Brie Burger. Both these meals were simple but tasted so good. Great atmosphere and comfortable. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a full 5 stars was that the service was a bit slow... even at 3pm in the afternoon. Truly phenomenal food. Don't let the decor fool you - the chef obviously really knows what he is doing. He also came out to greet us and ask how our meal was. This is fine dining quality in a casual setting, at affordable prices. Highly recommend! read more

In a small town of Haliburton rarely are you able to find a place open past 8 on the . Well look no farther or further you HAVE to give this place a try. Just a corner off their Main Street I think (Google it ,I'm bad with directions ) . A fuse of diner and sports bar this place is great! Just the right ambience for Saturday night casually dining with friends or family's r even both. Big space can accommodate a group of 15 and still take in more clients . The food is very well prepared , I wasn't expecting the presentation from a diner/sports bar. The Taste - just as good as the food looked . Hubby had the Cowboy Burger he loved it and of course the missus being a yelp enthusiast just had to try for herself and yes it is confirmed that the burger taste delicious. Patty was huge and well seasoned and it's tender to bite. The ribs tasted just as good though not fall off the bones . The Caesar salad was sinful , they didn't stiff you on the dressing just how I like it . My only issue with the food was that their chicken wings though taste good some still had feathers. The lasagna is your classic comfort food came complete with the delicious Caesar salad . The staff and service was just as friendly and accommodating. My partner got The Reuben sandwich and the soup of the day. He said it was delicious and endorses the server's soup recommendations. We shared a poutine which was great, but I mean, you can never go wrong with a poutine! I got the Clubhouse sandwich with chicken, which was a triple decker and I was quite impressed. I got a Greek salad as my side, though it was more of a lettuce and coleslaw blend with veggies, feta, and a ranch dressing on the side. I was a little thrown off by that but the meal was great otherwise. The space was quaint but a little drafty. Definitely wear a sweater during the colder months. read more

This was a great meal--Korean barbecue beef with purple rice and vegetables. The beef rib was sliced thin and marinated in a tasty sauce, served on a sizzling plate that toasted the onions. The serving was three ample slices. The rice had the crunchy part from the bottom of the pot that I really like. It shows the rices was cooked correctly--that's my opinion! My friends got bulgogi and said that was good. One of our party had a question and the chef came to our table to address her concern. Service was slow with only two servers handling the patio and the inside on a busy night. One star off for the long wait. read more

We ate here twice on our vacation to the area. That should be a good indication right away. We had breakfast the first day and lunch another day. Both days, the food was hot, plentiful and good. Breakfast was simple stuff - eggs, sausage, pancakes - but it was hot and the boys inhaled it. Another indication of the 5-star rating. Lunch was more complex, with more options. We all had burgers and my youngest had grilled cheese. First, the turkey and rice soup side was hit and flavorful. I'm glad I got it. The burgers weren't on our plates long. They were very good! Lastly, the servers were friendly and checked in regularly. They were always paying attention and ready to help. Final star point - my youngest is honest to goodness ADHD, and lunch can be a challenge and when he's triggered he's impossible: Our waitress was great with him. Not only did she get him to order, but she had him smiling. Bonus points there. read more

Having a cottage in the area, we were delighted when this restaurant's relatively new owners took over what had been a very mediocre spot. The food is now excellent and very good value for money. There is a good variety of dishes and the presentation is also excellent. We have eaten here many times and I would recommend it very strongly. read more

We went here for lunch on a beautiful, summer, Friday afternoon and were never served even though the place was pretty much empty. After walking in we were greeted by a line of men, drinking beer sitting at the bar, looking our way. After standing there being ogled to see if we would be seated, which did not happen, we decided to seat ourselves. There were only a few tables that were occupied and the one we chose had never been cleaned from the last patron. I wiped a french fry off my chair, sat down. and looked over to a couple that had cutlery but no drinks. Someone came in from the outside patio asking if they would ever be served. There were two servers standing at the cash register having a conversation for the fifteen minutes we waited, and after getting up and passing by them to leave they didn't even acknowledge our existence. I can't comment on the food because I didn't get a chance to order. Pathetic. read more
