Quick, even in the middle of lunch time. Tasty.... always! Ordering is straight forward but although the order was taken correctly it took the chefs 3 tries before the got it all right... There were only 7 meals ordered. .. hardly taxing you would have thought! . read more

Popped in here for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I don't think I've ever been in one of these before! There was a good lunch deal on for less than €9 you can choose several options and service was quick so I was happy! Noticed €5.75 cocktails on the menu so will have to go back and give those a try. Can't resist a Mojito when I see one ;) All in all, a pleasant experience and a hefty lunch of noodles with chicken and prawn. :) read more

I'm a bit of an Asian food junkie so I do apologise if I come across strangely passionate about it. Not too sure what Mao is going for. I'm a mad crazy fan of Asian food and usually try to hunt out the best around. I've tried Mao a few times now, I've always ordered again because I constantly felt that there was something else to give but alas, I've given up. Despite a mild allergy to Coconut I've gone for a few of their curries, including the Green, Red and Massaman. I've gone for the sesame chicken from the wok menu too. The easiest way to describe the food is to say it's both tasty but also strangely tasteless at the same time. When you eat Asian food you should get wild flavours and spices roaring through each vegetable or piece of meat. However, I just don't get that with Mao. The sesame chicken was a great example of this. The chicken and vegetables were oddly their own flavour, not what you'd expect for something stir fried in spices, while the sauce remained separate to itself and didn't feel any way infused (as you'd expect). The curries weren't as bad but it all leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to Asian food. Anyways, I'd highly recommend Diep Thai Blackrock for your best Asian fix near Stillorgan. 3/5; Tastes better if you've let it brew in the fridge for a a day or two. read more

I think its time to share my experience in MAO. Is so comfortable and handy for me. Is not a place that I would go for something special, but if I'm hungry and MAO is around I'll definitely choose it with my eyes closed! The food is delicious! And there's options for everybody. Funny thing is I love eating... I can never eat the full plate in there! I don't know why. Its filling and bit healthy too. Service is super efficient and they are so friendly. The only dish I tried and wasn't mad about it was the sweet and sour chicken, is 100 times healthier than in other places but I find it too too sweet. I try and stay as far away from 'chains' as I possibly can simply because my experience with them has been friggin' brutal to date! Chains just suggest pre-made, pre-determined, pre-decided, pre-packaged and soul less fodder created for those interested in putting food or what lossly constitutes it in their belly! Mao is different, it is a chain but in name only. There are a few Mao's in and around Dublin and they specialise in great Asian food leaning more towards the Thai. Get Mao.....now!!! read more

So eating in restaurant a bit and a lot of delivery from this place for 4 years,never disappointed, couple of things i need to specify why. real friendly staff and attentive and suggestive if you are there with friends who are not sure what to order, not crowding you but always there if you need anything else in good order. delivery and preso is real solid wine selection is good and appreciate the prosecco option. really love the pickled ginger as well, always order with EVERYTHING beef and chicken have a real good cooked/fried taste and that chicken ramen is stunningly hot in the good way(would love some sweetcorn but i add my own). Delivery/pickup is on par you don't lose much enjoyment compared to eating in house, quick and full of flavor and sauces travel well as they are fresh and clean btw can you deliver prosecco Good works read more

Mao is delicious! We ordered the Thai chicken salad €8.95 , beef basengek daging with jasmine rice €10.95 and the Chicken Hati Ayam with fried rice €11.95 for collection. All were very tasty, full of flavour and well-balanced in spice, and perfectly cooked. The beef basengek daging was an absolute winner dish and I'll definitely be ordering again soon. read more
