I would highly recommend Tinnin's, if you want to relax, with or without the family. Robbie Tinnin, the Club manager, is super nice, patient, and very accommodating. If you want to spend a night or two or three they have a newly remodeled lodge which is extremely nice. My son and I stayed here a night and didn't want to leave. Photography-This is a wonderful venue for all wildlife photographers. They offer spectacular views of the Middle Rio Grande Valley (they are almost on top of the Rio Grande river). Some of the animals you could photograph (from a blind) include: Rio Grande turkeys Sandhill Cranes Mule Deer Javelina Coyote Elk Geese Ducks Pheasant Quail Chukar Countless songbirds Fishing-A catch and release largemouth bass pond. The bass are feisty and fight hard on a lure. They also have a giant channel catfish pond. Forget your rod, reel or tackle? No problem, they have these and will loan them to you. My son caught a nice largemouth bass after fishing for only 10 minutes. I caught two smaller ones, so he definitely beat me. Dog training-They are working in conjunction with a professional trainer, Ernest G., to teach pointing and retrieving on-site. My son was able to shoot at a live bird and the pointer retrieved it very quickly. Shooting Sports-If you want to hone your shotgun skills, this is the place to visit. Robbie is the clay thrower and offers tips on how to improve your stance and hit more clays. There is 5 stand, sporting clays, and wobble trap. They offer a variety of clay sizes including standard, medium, minis, and a super thin, fast clay that is almost impossible to hit! My son shot some of the sporting clay stations and they are extremely challenging, even for those advanced shooters. Archery-They have a 3D archery course where you can improve your bow skills. Hunting-Bird hunting with a shotgun includes pheasant, chukar and quail and if you don't have a dog, no problem, they will provide one. Other bird species to hunt are ducks, snow geese, Canada geese, sandhill cranes, doves, and turkeys. They offer big game hunting including elk, and deer. You could also call a coyote in as well. The Lodge is newly remodeled and offers: fully stocked kitchen and bar, living/game room complete with 3 televisions, a pool table and a shuffleboard table, two bathrooms, and four bedrooms (handicap accessible). They offer a steam shower in one of the bathrooms to get rid of any aches and pains. We had so much fun here, we will be back soon. Thanks Robbie, for making this a first class facility.

He tailors the plans to meet your goals and does not try to push things on you that will not benefit you. If you live in the Belen area and are in search of a new place to call home this is it. Their hours still say open til 6 and 5 respectively but they aren't. Maybe its a staffing shortage. The gym equipment is basic but it's all there: a few universal gyms, a nice selection of freeweights, and several aerobic machines: orbital trainers, stairs, treadmills and stationary bikes. The changing rooms are inconsequential, but most people come right from home it's not a big deal. The membership price is in the right ballpark and they do offer senior discounts, if you're 60-ish or older. Best deal of all: it is almost never crowded. I rarely had to wait long to get on any one machine or piece of equipment. It would rank more stars if they'd just get "hours open" situation squared away.

And I was more than a little freaked out. "Well then... Um, I can't wait. Thanks, honey." The night before the jump I didn't sleep so well, and I definitely cringed when I read through all of the paperwork that I needed to sign, certifying that upon death or crippling injury, I couldn't sue. But when I climbed into the Cessna with my tandem instructor and we climbed 14,000 feet into the air, I felt an amazing sense of calm. I guess I just knew that the instructor had jumped thousands of times, and he didn't wanna die either, so hey, I was in good hands. The fall was absolutely incredible, and the entire experience was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my entire life. And I lived to tell about it. If I was reading reviews to figure out which company I wanted to risk my life with, I would be happy to read that this company was simply way safer, more accountable and more responsible than the competitors. I was in very good hands, and if I could afford it, I would jump another thousand times.

I waited for two hours and made repeated calls and texts to the company line and the admin who contacted me the night prior, with no answer. In talking with others at the airport, it would appear this is not the first time this has happened. Issues arise sometimes and that is when a company's true values are revealed. In this case, Skydive New Mexico's leadership was inept and cowardly in that they couldn't even be bothered for an apology, explanation, or an attempt to make things right. In short, I'm glad it didn't work out since I wouldn't want to put my life in the hands of people that can't even handle scheduling and communication. I can only imagine how dangerous this operation is if Skydive New Mexico applies the same lack of attention and professionalism to their safety protocols and equipment maintenance. It's also worth noting that in my attempt to find out who to contact to get my deposit back, I discovered that the "company" doesn't even have a valid business license with the state of New Mexico, letting it lapse years ago. The operational lapses, along with previous court cases for personal injury should give anyone pause on possibly utilizing their services. There are other and better options at the same airport. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
