We've never had such great customer service. Kind, professional, a huge selection and great deals…read more- they always help us find what they need and recently went above and beyond to help compensate us for a broken bow - something they did NOT have to do. We've purchased violins/bows/cases and cello bows there and every time we go it's such a great experience. Cannot recommend highly enough. My kids love going there, and we know the String House is always going to help us.

Out of the 6 different music stores recommended by my daughter's teacher, their rental pricing is…read moremid-range and comparable to others. I remember String House decades ago when I used to play so I knew they were reputable. They also carried the book and CD that we needed to purchase. Look for the white house with the bright red door on Monroe Ave. Parking is in the back. It was a short wait while they finished with other customers. The rental process was easy and quick. My daughter was already measured, but the associate did a quick double check and tuned the violin. It came with the basics - violin, bow, case, rosin, and a nametag. The price includes insurance and repairs during the rental period, which is a school year or 12 months. We didn't have to buy a shoulder rest because sponges usually work fine for the little ones, but it fit her well so we bought one, in her favorite color pink. Seamless rental process and so beautiful to see the instruments displayed all along the ceiling. It was nostalgic!

I highly recommend String Lark Lessons. I am an adult learner and previously had tried learning…read morefrom a friend and teaching myself - neither at all productive. Since working with Melanie I've learned so much - about the guitar and about theory, but most importantly I've learned how to make noise come out of this big ass guitar I own that actually sounds like music! The room where lessons are held is bright and warm with musical instruments all over and Melanie herself has such a calm, positive energy. Good vibes all the way around. She is a great teacher and manages to be both patient and challenging at the same time. I think it's a huge talent to make sure students progress while not overwhelming them and she manages that each lesson. When I've come in excited about something I read or heard, she can somehow take that and make it applicable to exactly my level. She is also full of ideas and suggestions - my playing is going in all sorts of directions that I didn't expect. I feel like I'm getting a well-rounded education and am eventually going to have the skills and knowledge to take this any direction I choose.

Thomas Music guys were pros from the start. Since they pinpointed immediately the repair needed, no more, no less, I knew I could trust them. I had them do a complete overhaul (all pads, cork, and one rusted bar) on the clarinet. The excellent work was done quickly and for a very reasonable price. They stated the scope of work in the beginning, as well as the estimated charges, and followed through. I am very impressed and would highly recommend these instrument experts, as they have earned my complete trust.
