I am so glad I chose to send my LO here. It is a montessori style type of care. They have a baby area with a ball pit which my baby is obsessed with. Their outdoor space is huge and the kids seem to love it and they go outside regularly. They're always doing activities and little projects. They play music and dance. There's no screen time and the kids are always playing and interacting with each other and their providers. They're flexible and let you bring in baby food but also provide meals and weekly menus and right now they're helping my baby try some new foods. They are flexible about naps. I was worried because I have a velcro baby but he naps so well with them. They read every day. There are, of course, toys out but the place is always very clean. Most mornings I come in, I smell fresh food cooking. Kristilynn also teaches some ASL to the kiddos which is such a bonus! They also have an app where they give updates and photos and a parent page. My little guy smiles so big when he sees his daycare teachers and really loves going. It gives me such peace of mind knowing that my guy is cared for the way I'd care for him and he's getting more enrichment than I think I could provide. *photos are taken at daycare but only include my child*

We have attended several other music classes and NOTHING compare to how awesome this class was. She just has a way of engaging the kids like no other. My daughter usually wants to run out of any classroom we are in, but in this class she participated (almost) the whole time. It is very relaxed and laid back as well. The kids are allowed to do whatever they want, no pressure at all. They join in because the WANT to. She has a ton of instruments for them to play with, she plays the guitar and has great kids music cds. I would recommend this class to anyone with a kid!

Since working with Melanie I've learned so much - about the guitar and about theory, but most importantly I've learned how to make noise come out of this big ass guitar I own that actually sounds like music! The room where lessons are held is bright and warm with musical instruments all over and Melanie herself has such a calm, positive energy. Good vibes all the way around. She is a great teacher and manages to be both patient and challenging at the same time. I think it's a huge talent to make sure students progress while not overwhelming them and she manages that each lesson. When I've come in excited about something I read or heard, she can somehow take that and make it applicable to exactly my level. She is also full of ideas and suggestions - my playing is going in all sorts of directions that I didn't expect. I feel like I'm getting a well-rounded education and am eventually going to have the skills and knowledge to take this any direction I choose.

I remember String House decades ago when I used to play so I knew they were reputable. They also carried the book and CD that we needed to purchase. Look for the white house with the bright red door on Monroe Ave. Parking is in the back. It was a short wait while they finished with other customers. The rental process was easy and quick. My daughter was already measured, but the associate did a quick double check and tuned the violin. It came with the basics - violin, bow, case, rosin, and a nametag. The price includes insurance and repairs during the rental period, which is a school year or 12 months. We didn't have to buy a shoulder rest because sponges usually work fine for the little ones, but it fit her well so we bought one, in her favorite color pink. Seamless rental process and so beautiful to see the instruments displayed all along the ceiling. It was nostalgic!
