Friendly service. My item was altered well in a very timely manner. I could not believe how reasonable it was! Highly recommend!

The manager, whose name I didn't get (tall, blonde hair, blue eyes), refused it for three reasons: 1.) It was missing the tags. I had the confirmation email which he refused to look at. 2.) He said I had worn it, which obviously I had? I would need to put it on to determine whether or not it fit & I was satisfied with it. 3.) Manager's discretion. He refused to elaborate. The suit, for all intents and purposes was in perfect condition. The manager was obstinate and condescending throughout the entire interaction, and tried to compare me returning a suit with a 90 day return policy to trying to return a car to a dealership. When I pointed out how flimsy that logic was and reiterated Men's Warehouse's return policy to him, he became really condescending and rude. I ended up driving an hour into Pittsburgh to return my suit at a different location, which they accepted, no questions asked. The manager at this location seriously needs to get off his pedestal and start treating people with an ounce of respect, and he's clearly projecting some issues onto people that are forced to interact with him. Last time I ever buy something at Men's Warehouse because of him.

To any bride considering Topaz Thimble for alterations, I encourage you to read this full review before handing over your gown to Kati. There are many seamstresses who provide better quality work and customer service. I paid Kati $500 to take my wedding dress and create a top that "looked" like what we discussed, but which had serious construction, quality and fit issues. I am now paying another seamstress to remediate all of the work that Kati called her "best work ever". I took my dress to be altered into a peplum style top. At the initial appointment, the dress was put on a mannequin and we discussed the changes to be made. I asked if I should try it on, but Kati stated it wasn't necessary. I thought it was strange that she didn't want to take measurements given we discussed that my wedding was 5 years and 2 kids ago. In hindsight, this was the first red flag. When I arrived for the final fitting, Kati's assistant answered the door and let me know that Kati was finishing up a few things. I waited for about 20 minutes while I could hear the sewing machine frantically whirring in the back. If more time was needed to finish the gown, I would have rather delayed the fitting than rush the work. This was the second red flag. Kati brought out the dress and it appeared as we had discussed. The only time that Kati touched the garment during my fitting was to help me snap and unsnap it. There was no "fitting", "checking" or "fussing" to make sure it was perfect. I paid and left the studio with the top. At home I tried it on again and took a closer look over the whole piece. The sleeves were not staying up because they did not have enough room in the shoulders. The buttons on the sleeve cuffs did not lay nicely as the material was bunching and they were attached unevenly. A seam on the peplum skirt had the horsehair trim raw, jagged and sticking out. Most concerning, the seams and construction throughout were uneven and messy. I emailed Kati regarding this issues and we scheduled a date to come back. My gut however was telling me to get a second opinion. I am not an avid sewer, however I have completed multiple sewing projects, and the quality of work was nothing that I would expect from a professional seamstress. I took the top to a second bridal seamstress with over 25 years of experience. The seamstress identified a plethora of areas where the work was either not completed correctly or was poorly executed. Ultimately she felt it came down to inexperience and rushed work. I feel taken advantage of knowing that Kati let me walk out of her studio with a garment that had blatant craftsmanship issues, and I do wonder how many brides leave Topaz Thimble with poor quality alterations to their gowns. In summary, the following issues were noted: - Seams throughout are messy and incorrectly executed - Sleeves and peplum skirt were incorrectly constructed - Thread color used did not match the rest of the dress - All horsehair seam edges were left raw and unfinished - Appliques were incorrectly connected and causing bunching - Time and effort were not taken to construct proper seams between the sleeve and the strap, as well as between the bodice and the peplum skirt, resulting in bunched and uneven seams. After meeting with the other seamstress, I emailed Kati explaining that I did not feel comfortable returning to Topaz Thimble to have the work corrected. I requested a refund to help cover the cost of the remediation work. In her response, Kati refused to acknowledge the issues identified and refused to provide any type of refund. Kati stated that I was not a sewing expert and stopped responding to any follow up from my side. I submitted a dispute to my credit card company citing "unsatisfactory quality for services rendered" and included all correspondence. After reviewing the case, the bank sided with me and refunded my money. I feel this speaks to the credibility of the review. Overall, when choosing someone to work on one of the most important garments in your life, I recommend you choose someone who has an immense amount of experience and attention to detail. Find someone who will not cut corners, and most importantly, someone who is kind and customer focused. You will not find this with Topaz Thimble.

I've had two large items ruined: a rug and a $400 quilt set. First, I sent in a rug (October 2024) that was odor-free, just needed freshening after a move. It came back smelling like a swampy basement. (I was told they use a 3rd party vendor to clean them, so they weren't technically responsible for the service, just acted as the middle man.) The owner insisted it was just detergent and claimed not to smell anything off. She agreed to reclean it, but the odor remained. The rug was unsalvageable and, being discontinued, impossible to replace--ruining the design of the room. Despite this, I gave them another chance, assuming the issue was with their third-party rug cleaner. This time, I brought in a barely-used winter quilt set to be cleaned before storing it for the season. The place was undergoing renovations, it was sweltering, and the doors were wide open with fans blowing. I was told it might take longer--but surprisingly, it was ready the next day. When I picked it up, the entire package reeked of cat urine, fake floral scent, and body odor. One sham even had a bleach-like fade, though they swore no bleach was used. I contacted them immediately when I got home. Again, I was told it was just detergent. I couldn't even bring the items into the house--the stench was unbearable and multiple family members agreed. I brought it back for recleaning, and the owner, still claiming she couldn't smell anything after putting her nose right into the fabric, supposedly "washed" it again with unscented detergent and deodorizer. It came back even worse--now with a fishy odor added to the mix. I'm now out a $400 quilt set, (on top of the rug that was thrown out in the fall) and all they offered was a refund for the original cleaning. No accountability. Just excuses and an alarming inability to acknowledge clear and overwhelming odor issues. I can't fathom that I'm the only one who has had this problem, but since no one else has shared this issue in a review, I thought I would do so to prevent someone else's misfortune.
