The sparkling water was served without ice and lemon and the cappuccino, at chf 5.50 on was beyond unforgiveable (no milk foam, spilled all over the cup and plate). Since we moved to Oerlikon, we started more and more to have brunches and dinners in Chayenne. The…read morefood is great and it always seemed very fresh. The atmosphere is very joyful and, unlike many Zurich places, it is almost always populated by young (and noisy) people, who want to have a good time. I find this very relaxing. There are also available seats at the bar and often people are standing as well, since big groups of friends joining after work is a common view there. The strongest point of the place is, in my opinion, it'a brunch selection. On weekends, you can serve brunch until as late as 4 pm. Try their omelette, it is delicious! (I got the New York one). Also, they serve breakfast combos (i chose the American and the Swiss one), which are very expensive (up to even 30 CHF if I remember well), but they are worth it! The combos are enough for two people and they are very diverse. I would be happy if they offered more drinks as included in the combo though. However, be prepared to pay Zurich prices. It's an expensive place, but I never regretted spending money there. Enjoy!

So we were pretty wiped out... Ya ever feel like just eating a couple pieces of pizza, drinking a few glasses (and then maybe a few more glasses) of red wine and then just conking out for the night?... That's how my GF and I felt. Did not want to venture in to downtown Z-rich so we just walked over next door, and dined, then crashed out.... All the food, really really good. Pizza, pasta, meatballs, veal, all that really good. Wine, oh yeah, you know that too. We had a very nice dinner, just what we needed.

As soon as my husband and I walked in looking for a drink after our dinner, I felt a 'locals only' vibe and we got looks from everyone in the bar. It almost felt as if they had already closed, based on the look I was getting from the two women behind the bar, so I asked - they said they were closing at 10 pm (45 minutes later) and are no longer serving dinner. I told them we didn't need food, but asked if they had a menu for the wine, to which they looked at me like I was crazy and then pointed to 4 bottles sitting on the top of the bar with no prices, no description of the bottles they were poring. They also pointed to the wall as well. That was it - nothing else, no explanation further. Why on earth would I spend my money here? We immediately left and went to Drinx Bar up the street, with which we were very pleased. Such an awful representation of the kind service we've received elsewhere in Zurich.

They only have two options each day. When you dine in, they ask you if you want a second serving...! When you dive out, the price goes down...! The price is much lower than the competition, (competition being every other random Italian restaurant in Zurich) and the interior decor has a rugged-chic feel. I love it. The first time I ate there I had a pasta with mushroom, beef, random veggies, and cream. It was nothing I would normally go for and it was uh-mazing. The second time I got my food to-go which cost me 3 francs less and it was a penne with bolognese. :) Bolognese is hands down my favorite food ever and this wasn't any different, absolutely amazing.
