She said "they need to clean up this place". I understand that would be a lot of weed wacking around each pole, but at least spray it. The weeds were as high as the posts. The whole place is run down, the fence is falling over. It looks like the owners take no pride or care about the place. The employees at the concession stand were very nice as well. It really needs some TLC too.

The drive out from Columbus was pleasant, we took one of the state routes all the way and it was pretty direct. I'd recommend against using the "Second Entrance" when you get to the location. It was very hilly and the turn in to the festival route was a blind left turn at almost the top of a hill on another rural state route where you couldn't see the oncoming traffic. One of those "honk and pray" kind of turns. The festival is set up in a semi-permanent location (the location stays, different fairs come and go) where they have little wooden stalls for the vendors and a well maintained walking path. The overall theme is kind of country chic, but if that isn't your style, it's just a fun afternoon, and there are lots of bath and body products, fudge, and FOOD to keep you going. OMG, the food. It was very crowded when we visited, and by the time we were ready for lunch, the food area was packed, but organized. Each vendor had an IN and an OUT line, and there were lots of options (soup, pizza, hot and cold sandwiches, fries, desserts, etc.) On our way out, we got smoked turkey legs for dinner, and I'm still working on that sucker. All in all, a fun outing!

The objects in this museum are mostly artifacts from around the area, so you can learn a bit about Mansfield, Ohio, history in this museum. The museum collection is contained to the first two floors. The first floor has Elektro the Westinghouse Robot, which is the pride and joy of the museum. Elektro was one of the first working robots, and it's displayed here at the museum. A lot of the electronics and glass collection are here on the first floor, too. To get up to the second floor, you need to be escorted, as they do t allow visitors to just wander by themselves. On the second floor, you'll find many taxidermied animals, airplane displays, a real elephant foot that you can touch and lots more. The second floor is my favorite because there are so many things to look at everywhere you turn. This museum is a great place to visit if you're in the area, and if it's open when you're around. (I believe it's only open on Saturdays and Sundays!)

I feel the owners had good intentions when they purchased the building. But the current state of the theatre has shown that their heart in the venture was short lived. Anyone who grew up in Mount Gilead and went to the Capitol Theatre as a kid, remember a guy named "Buck". Always ensuring to straighten out anyone who got out of line while the feature film was being played.
