While walking up the Main Street we saw this small hotel and there was a room for us three. The owner, a friendly lady in her 70ies who is running this hotel alone most the time in the year gave us a warm welcome and her staff (i mean Toby her little Jack Russell) waa happy to be cuddled a lot :-) The intérieur is from older times but it was very clean and I haven't noticed any smells like in the first comment. Our beds were cozy and we had a good sleep there and the homemade English breakfast was really good. The price of 30 Pound os also normal in that kind of region so we were totally satisfied

We booked online and paid one night, checked in and the attendant (Manager? Owner?) said it had been mispriced by £10 when we were paying for the second. We are the only ones here. Is something not better than nothing? The ads said it has a restaurant. Nope. There are tables. She has offered breakfast. We shall see. The bed is hard and the facilities are beyond shabby. It is clean, but the smell is surprising and distracting. Wish we had known about the lack of parking in advance, too. (I wrote this during our first night there. She reprimanded me for it at breakfast.)

There is a fabulous huge Ginko Biloba tree growing on their terrace. These were the best bits! The food was less than moderate in taste, flavour and presentation. We had tomato soup and followed this by scampi and chips which was - hang on while I think of the best word to describe in all my fantastic repertoire - Yuck! As we were setting off on the road again we decided to use the 'facilities' both ladies and gentlemen's in this case and they were - here we go again - Yuck! Advised reception about the state of the toilets and they said something along the lines of 'Oh yeah, thank you'. So if you go there there admire the view and grab a few leaves off the tree to make your tea. Remember not to use the toilet and look for a better place to eat....any place?

We had an excellent one-night stay at this cute, old hotel located right in the heart of St…read more David's (itself, a very cute little Welsh town). The staff were nice; the breakfast was excellent (though a little slow); the room was quite adequate. I loved the in-room coffee and tea with the fresh milk in the fridge outside. They were able to easily accommodate our party of three adults and two kids. They have free parking, right next to the hotel! A huge bonus! They have a lovely bar area when you come in with a nice selection of ales and afternoon cream tea and scones. There is also a very private sitting area off to the side, and some games for kids (or adults) to sit and while-away the grey weather. The location here is really prime; right in the square; St David's Cathedral is just a three minute walk down the hill and The Bishops pub, across the street, is an excellent place to grab dinner. The only downsides to this place are the price (a little steep), no ocean view, and it feels sort of in need of an up-date (though is quaint, nonetheless).

The friendly staff even gave me recommendations on the best sites worth visiting. With wonderful views and a lovely atmosphere, this hotel is nothing short of amazing.

The Trewern Arms is a gem of a find! Slightly off the beaten track, it can be found a couple of…read moremiles outside Newport on the Cardigan Road (look for the sign on the left, and turn for Nevern). Trewern has 10 rooms, a bar where bar meals and Sunday lunches are served (the Gegin Fach, or small kitchen) and an A La Carte restaurant. We had the delicious homemade lasagne and steak and kidney pie (it really was lovely!) We hope to try the restaurant next time we go back! There is also a function room there where private parties can be held. The staff were all lovely, eager to help, and we heard other customers comment on how lovely it was to hear so much Welsh being spoken! Would highly recommend it to any one!

This hotel is on the edge of St Davids as you start heading out towards Haverfordwest. It is…read moreopposite the fabulous Tourist Info Centre. There is a smallish car park to the side but if you are coming from the town it is a few hundred yards so you don't need the car. I can get very busy at times but it welcomes people from all walks of life. They didn't bat an eyelid at people coming in in walking gear or those who where dressed to the nines. There was a main menu, a summertime menu and a kids menu. There were some interesting items on the menu but most of it was fairly standard fare. We ordered a pizza for our daughter fromthe kids menu which was a very decent £2.99. It consisted of a 7 inch pizza, chips and beans. The pizza I would say was of the frozen variety rather than home-made but there was a generous portion of chips with it. My partner and I both ordered the curries. There were two on the menu, a medium to hot and a mild to medium. We had one of each. They were accompanied by boiled rice and chips and a small portion of mini poppadoms. My partner also got a little dish of mango chutney with his but I didn't, I don't know why. Both meals were absolutely delicious. We followed up with two knickerbocker glories and a clotted cream cheesecake. The cheesecake was fabulous but my daughter and I were disappointed with the knickerbocker glories. It said fresh fruit but the fruit was obviously of the tinned variety and a little bit too much of that too. I had a coffee which was delicious and my partner had a pint of Reverend James which he said was spot on. The prices were reasonable at £7.95 for the curries. The restaurant is in a conservatory type wing of the hotel and is very modern and clean with arty photos of local places and things on the wall. Enjoyed it so much that we went again a few nights later. Can't comment on the hotel facilities though as we weren't staying there.

The bar and dinner areas were immaculate, with some nice comfy sofas to chill out on. Certainly not…read morerustic but there was a clean, modern feel to the place. We frequented the bar a few times as the drinks were reasonably priced. I had a few meals here and I would put them a notch above the standard pub chain offerings. Portions were fair but you could tell sauces were straight out of a packet. The burgers are worth a punt though as they are sourced locally using the excellent welsh beef. On the whole I cannot be too critical as the price for a meal was perfectly reasonable and service was friendly. There arent many lunch time eateries in St David's so you should be on to a winner. Whatever you do dont be lazy and opt for the Dyfed Fish and Chip Bar further into the city as I had the worst meal I have ever had in my life there. I cannot comment on the hotel rooms as I was not a resident.
